Frankford Animal Clinic

Place is pretty tiny, but they have weekend hours and the Doc was super nice.
Went here on a Saturday morning to get the kitty checked out. The SPCA had a line around the block just to be seen. Dr. Gul gave the little one a shot and we were in and out in 5 minutes.
Also, this place is air conditioned like crazy and doesn’t smell. That got it 3 stars alone.

I really like Dr. Gul, he is there Sunday’s. Very friendly & fast. I usually take my dog there every ¾months for her anal glands to be expressed. Cheapest I’ve found yet! I’ve been to many others charging at least $ 75-​$ 80. Every time I go it’s $ 30. For the past 3 years. The front desk receptionist is a moron. I simply asked her to change my maiden name to my married name. It took her the entire wait in the waiting room to figure it out… It isn’t rocket science sweetheart. Also I think she should be trained again. After asking about pricing for shots, frontline, heartworm meds, etc. Instead of asking another employee or checking a price list, she stares at the sign in book infront of her. «I don’t know.» Really?! Could you find out?
Other than the lack of organization at the front desk, I do like this vet and more importantly the reasonable prices.

I have had nothing but good experiences at this vet. I have been going to them for years with my dogs and cats and will continue to go there. They have my full trust.

I’ve had many animals over the course of my life and this vet was perhaps the worst I’ve ever encountered. The front desk staff were really nice and friendly so I thought it would be a good visit. The first bad sign was the way he’d yell at his staff from back in his office. Literally yelling at them to come to him whenever he had a problem. After what seemed like an unusually long wait since I was the 2^nd person who had come into the office that morning, they finally called me and my 5 year old cat to see the vet. His English was not very good, and he sort of spoke by making demands of me and the staff. I asked if I could help hold my cat when his bladder was being inspected (which usually vets encourage me to do). He refused to let me hold my cat, so as he began inspecting him, my cat got upset (what cat isn’t upset at a vet?) and hissed and growled at him. I again asked if I could help, because he is quiet as a mouse if I“m holding him. The vet refused again, then flat out said that he couldn’t work with my cat because he was too difficult. So he literally told me I had to leave and go somewhere else…
My cat has seen a number of vets and this has NEVER happened. I’ve never heard of a vet who refused to see a dog or cat because the animal was difficult. When my cat hissed at a vet tech a few years ago, they just put on gloves and continued working with him.
All in all, a terrible experience for me and my cat. We didn’t get a check up or diagnosis and I had to cart him to yet another clinic.
If anyone even thinks of going to this place, I’d think again.

I took my kitten to get her first checkup after finding him on the street about a couple of weeks ago and when I arrived, my impression of the place is clean, and cozy, but small. Still, I didn’t mind the small part. The secretary was very friendly and nice too. However, as soon as I walked into the examination room, the kitty was weighed, and the checkup was rushed and left me no room to ask questions. I thought it was very very rude how the veterinarian gave a distemper shot without even telling me beforehand. That cost me an extra 35 $. He didn’t say what he was doing and wasn’t very thorough. I told him that I found my kitty on the street and he had fleas. I expected a full checkup but he gave 2 shots without my permission, checked my kitty’s eyes, and heartbeat, and comb the flea. Then told us to come back in two weeks for another distemper shot, and rabies shot. They told us, «The woman in the front will give you the Frontline» Gave us no choice in the matter, in which we of course did. Altogether it cost 115 $, when I only wanted to get a check up which was 30 $.
