Never greeted. I had to keep asking for assistance. As I’m carrying clothes around no one asked if they could start me a fitting room. I started one myself. Very lack luster staff. Gossiping about nothing. As I stood behind shopping, a staff member asks a man if they could help him out. He didn’t even buy anything! Thirsty ass employees. Lower your standards when you stop by here. REALLYLOWERTHEM. They’re running a 40% discount on clearance. Was that mentioned? Nope. Good thing I can read.

Maybe I just like this place because it’s less mobbed than the Walnut Street location. Sure, it’s smaller, but you still get all the major finds(with a slightly smaller sale section). I’ve never had any issues with the employees who, in my opinion, are nicer/friendlier than the ones on Walnut as well. But maybe that has a lot to do with the crowds which are normally present in the other store. As a fellow retail worker, I know how miserable constant crowds can make you…

This is definitely not my favorite GAP store in the area, but because if its proximity to my office, I find myself here surprisingly often. The store seems to be decently stocked with men’s and women’s clothes, but the clearance section is seriously lacking. This makes me sad because the clearance rack is my favorite rack of any store(an FYI-the clearance section at the Center City GAP location is kick-butt). Also, this store no longer carries the GAP Body line(which is intimates). The service here is pretty good though, so if I’m looking for something specific that I know I can find at this location, I’ll absolutely stop in.

This place gets a bad rap and I’m not sure why. The store is on the small side, but it’s clean and the selection is still pretty good. The sales people have always been friendly and helpful — starting fitting rooms, helping with finding sizes, all that good stuff. They do the standard irksome spiel when you walk in(«This is the last day to save 40% on men’s coolats!» or something to that effect), but that’s their job. This Gap is at least as good as its Center City counterpart.

I’d give the place fewer stars had I not made acquaintance with one of the managers, who is actually quite nice, though I am not sure if said manager is actually still there. This particular location seems to be a bit limited in its offerings, in comparison to other locations, but they do have incredible sales from time to time!

Their customer service is definitely lacking however it is quite easy to locate the basics that you might need like tees and tanks. They also tend to have their sale stuff displayed better then the big store. If you need a tee or tank and no service or opinions from an associate feel free to go to 3401.

Looking for crappy service from snooty«sales associates»? Looking to spend 15 minutes in line just to get a pair of jeans rung up? Have you been searching for a Center City clothing store that doesn’t sell clothing in your size? Well, you’ve come to the right place if you’ve visited The Gap on Walnut Street! Seriously, what takes so long to ring up a pair of jeans? I don’t get it. Oh, perhaps the prolonged check-out process is even more prolonged due to the«sales associates» chit-chatting and chuckling on their in-store intercom system. Or perhaps it’s more important to help Suzy figure out why she can’t figure out what she’s doing on her register while letting another customer stand in line a little longer. The«new» 1969 Jeans collection is nothing more that putting lipstick on a pig… it’s still a pig… perhaps a more expensive pig at that… but it’s still a pig! Poor selection, crappy, over-priced XLarge polo shirts that start off as a true Large and shrink to a small Medium after washing. Seriously, if you’re over a size 34 waist, don’t bother shopping here… or anywhere in Center City for that matter! When will the stores in Center City get it that just because you’re located in a high-end area, you’re entitled to give high-end attitude? When you’re making just above minimum wage, be more humble for Christ’s sake!

In this review, I’m comparing this Gap to the universe of Gaps, not clothing stores in general. To do so simply wouldn’t be fair. That being said, the men’s selection here is very poor. There are few mens’ items on the sale rack… and there are few mens’ items not on the sale rack. If you want something in season and not on sale, go to the Rittenhouse Gap location. If you want something possibly out of season, check out the Gap Outlet, which is also in Rittenhouse. In fact, you should probably hit both, as they are only a few blocks apart. Don’t shop here unless you are for some reason confined to University City.
