I came in here with like ten bucks to spend on candy because my friend Vince said he wanted to try a piece of Godiva Chocolate. I got him this chocolate truffle bar in milk chocolate(his fave, and on sale) and I got 4 truffle candies that were 4 for $ 3 and were about the same as Lindt Lindor Truffles just slightly creamier. They were pricey, but yummy so I’ll visit again next time I have some cash to blow on chocolate.

I’m addicted to chocolate. There, I’ve said it. And that’s the first step to recovery. Except, when I’m around Godiva chocolate, I don’t want to recover. My favorite thing here is the open oyester. It’s a chocolate shell(either milk or dark) with a chocolate hazelnut praline in the center. Yummmmm! But the yum sentiment goes for pretty much anything you buy. The chocolate covered strawberries are always really fresh and they usually have a table of sale chocolates from whatever the last holiday was.(Just because they’re from the most recent holiday doesn’t mean they’re not delicious though) The service at this location is awesome, the women behind the counter are more than happy to chat while you look over the case or wander the store but they never come off as overbearing. Also, if you sign up for their chocolate club, you get one free piece of chocolate a month! Can’t say no to that.

I guess I fall into the«chocosnob» category in that, to me, Godiva is not all that great. The European companies are superior for the most part. But it beats Hershey’s! My 5 year old loves the chocolate dipped strawberries — but at $ 5 a pop we are better off going to RTM or Little Italy for $ 2 berries. They also now have a club where you can get 1 free piece(not a strawberry) from the chocolate case each month. No purchase neccessary. How sweet!

I do not like chocolate. In fact if someone tells me they’re addicted to chocolate or start faking orgasms when they talk about it i tend to think a bit less of them. However, I have procured a piece or three of free chocolate from this location during their promotion and the staff have been so friendly and nice, even though they know I’m there just to score some free stuff. I’d recommend it if you like Godiva or chocolate on the friendliness of the staff alone.
