I purchased 3 hoagie from here for Super Bowl Sunday, all got excellent raves from my family. They said the meat and rolls were very fresh. I will go here again for my hoagie and it’s walking distance from my house which makes it very convenient.

Got a hoagie there today, got home there was no mayo or sweet peppers. Not a good sandwich at all.

In town for the Thanksgiving holiday, and we always get Hoagies when in Philly. There is something extraordinary about these simple sandwiches that make you want to inhale them without breathing. So let’s get to it, the location is nothing special but the owners are friendly and will chat you up. Once you are in store, head to the back and get a good look at the menu. East coast deli joints always give me anxiety so I always know my order, and I speak clearly. They don’t mince words and neither should you. Once your done, grab a beer, some chips and in about 10 minutes you have a reasonably priced delicious sandwich. Next time I am in town I will definitely come back!

I think this is a generous review. The chicken cheesesteak we got from here(hoagie factory size) for 11ish bucks with fried onions, mayo, and tomatoes was very generously sized filled to overflowing, and was certainly alright, however the chicken was stringy and just did not taste as good as the chicken at, say, Brunos. They are mainly a beer store with many beers to choose from and loads of snacks and so forth, but this is Philly. Our standards are(or should be) higher then, say Oxford or New Holland. For some reason, however Easton and Allentown seem to have good quality hoagies. I like Coke. They dont have Coke. They have Pepsi. The onion rings sucked. The soda in plastic bottles was flat. They take cards with a $ 7.00 minimum. They also have Boars Head deli meats and do deli sandwiches, yet somehow something was missing…

Three words: Corned beef special :-) I used to go here at least once a week when I lived in West oak lane and although I have tried other things and they are all just beyond delicious the CBS Is the best of the best :-) I don’t get here often anymore but when I get that hankering for a great hoagie I stop here. Thanks guys for always getting better and better.

So it was Sunday and I was craving a steak, so I went on Google and looked this place up. I called them and ordered a steak and came there within 5 minutes. It cost $ 7, which is the same price pay at the more touristy trap places, so I was a bit suspicious that I would end up paying all that money for no reason. Boy was I wrong. The roll that they used was really soft, but tough. It did not get that usually«soggy» feel you get with normal cheesesteaks, and pretty much held its shape throughout the whole time of me eating it. It was really juicy, had quality beef, and just the right amount of mayo and ketchup. Although I still think $ 7 is really steep for a local hoagie place to charge.

Whenever I am in town I have to get a Corned Beef Special to take back home. This is defiantly the place to get a Hoagie from. The meat is always sliced fresh and the buns used are that perfect just enough outer bite combined with the soft inside to accept all the fix ins and meat. I can only really comment on the Corned Beef Special as this is the only thing I get from here. This Hoagie is perfect. Seasoned shaved corned beef, coleslaw, and salad dressing, plus any other combination of Hoagie toppings you could want = deliciousness! How can others complain about their being too much meat? Is there such a thing as too much meat? Bottom Line: I’m trying to figure out after writing this when I can go and get one.

Today I was in the area and craving a hoagie. I swiftly pulled out my smart phone, imputed the word hoagie into Unilocal and bang this gem popped up with a great amount of stars. I was sold. The place is named hoagie, that just means their hoagies must be the bomb. The ordering process was so simple(I’m easy and I eat everything which helps). I walked into the establishment and was promptly greeted by a woman stocking the shelves and then directed on where to go to order my hoagie. The man that makes the hoagies also takes the order. I said Italian, he said with everything, I said yes. I got the smallest size hoagie which was by no means small, but it was perfect. The bread, meat, condiments, toppings, you name it this sandwich had it all. I was only able to eat half(with a bag of chips of course) but I am hoping the other half holds up for another meal. My ONLY complaint and I think this may have been my fault, was that there was MAYO on my ITALIANHOAGIE?! Yes there was oil as well thank goodness, but MAYO? On an Italian and not by request? Maybe thats just how people eat their Italian hoagies around here. Not too sure. Otherwise this place is Great!

I never thought I would say this but there was just too much meat. It’s one of the better chicken cheese steaks I’ve had but it was way to sloppy to eat with everything falling either out the top or the bottom. The fries were undercooked, and they need to invest in some Heinz ketchup cause the watery tomato crap they’re using ain’t cuttin it.

I was introduced to the Hoagie Factory by a good friend. He took me there during the West Oak Lane festival. Their cheesesteak was okay, however their chicken cheesesteak was delicious. After the first bite my hoagie mystery disappeared. They had a variety of drinks in the glass refrigerators that are located right behind the counter where you place your order. I had not seen a Tahitian Treat(fruit punch soda) in my moons and had that along with my hoagie. We had one to dine in. Their seating area is located in the back of the restaurant. You would not know they had a seating area if they did not ask you if the order was for here or to go. I took the other one for the road. The service is great. They were very friendly, which shocked me, because being an avid food channel watcher they always say folks at the hoagie places are rude. Definitely not the case here. When in Philly I recommend you giving them a try.

If you aren’t from Philly, you should know that ordering a «sandwich» in Philadelphia is like ordering a drink at Starbucks… without a menu. Philadelphians have transformed ordering a sandwich into a secret art with it’s own language… hoagies, steaks, grinders, hots, sweets, wiz. This isn’t Subway. You are expected to know what is on the unseen menu and to know exactly what you want in your sandwich(but don’t call it a sandwich unless you want it on sliced bread). Otherwise, the decision will be made for you… American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and onions typically come standard. At the Hoagie Factory expect you hoagie to be HUGE if you order the small, and my vocabulary isn’t big enough for the other sizes. You can also expect fresh ingredients, quick service, and a bevy of chips and beverages to choose from. Enjoy.

This is one of the few places I buy a hoagie from and all things considered it’s one of my favorites. I say all things considered because I’m picky about hoagies so I don’t buy them from many places:) Agree with the other reviewers on the ingredients, the guys there make the hoagies so fast also even with a crowed your in and out pretty fast. The Little Brother is the size of a regular hoagie so don’t think you’re going to go for the big brother to get a decent sized hoagie. In relation to Bruce’s comment on the rolls, I’d say they’re typical Philly corner hoagie/steak joint rolls so other spots are going a step above oppose to their being inferior.

God, I miss this place! Every time I get a craving for a Hoagie, I think of this place. This is how a Hoagie should taste! Fresh ingredients, quality meat, great service. I’ve never experienced inferior quality rolls, so I’m hoping that was an isolated experience? Try the corned beef Hoagie! Its Yummy! You’ll have plenty left over for later… or to share with a friend. :)

The Hoagie Factory has good food and the staff is great. I like the Hoagies and they are made with fresh ingredients, but the bread is not a match. they use stellar meats and put it on a inferior roll. The other foods are great, but I’m reviewing them on their name«Hoagie Factory» and this factory is producing so-so Hoagies.
