This place has been really hit or miss for me. Last time we were there, our food order took 2 hours to come out, and they were apparently«out of water glasses», so only two of us got waters. This came up a couple of times even tho the beers kept coming out in pint glasses. I usually get the brisket sandwich, which is great, but tried the filet tips and they really weren’t the best. Probably a better place to go in for a drink than if you’re really hungry.

Awesome food and awesome drinks. Love this place, I bring my friends here whenever we want to hang out. The blackened brussel sprouts are amazing!

This bar is perfect if you’re looking for a dark-Christmas string lit place for a late night dinner and a beer. We tried the fried cauliflower, Mac n cheese and the ancho chili wings. Everything was good except the Mac n cheese, which lacked any sort of detectable cheese flavor unfortunately. The service was top notch, and they had some good, low prices beers! I’d hit it up again when I’m back in Fishtown!

Usually a pretty good beer selection. Cajun style fare is good here. The fries can be amazing but are sometimes too greasy. Do not get the chicken flatbread. Recommend the fried cauliflower bites and the specials.

Great menu! Southern Cajun and Mexican all mixed in. Fish tacos were fresh and delicious. The fried pickles are awesome. Thick cut and the dipping sauce is amazing. The Mexican corn was out of this world. The alligator queso fundido was a little disappointing though. It was more like a quesadilla in a skillet.

Love the beer list at this place but the food is painfully hit or miss. The prime offender dish is the«blackened» Brussels sprouts. Now I am the sort of person that judges a restaurant’s entire menu on how they handle their sprouts. Probably a bit harsh and unfair, but if you can’t plate some rock star sprouts in the twenty-teens chances are your problems are many and run deep. This was downright false advertising. Let me ask you: doesn’t «blackened» mean some percentage of the color of the food on the plate be… well black? Doesn’t «blackened» conjure images of food sizzling over high heat in a cast iron skillet to a beautiful, mouth watering char? Um yes, it does. The sprouts that arrived at our table were of the variety grandma made that resulted in your hating sprouts for the better part of your life. They were a brighter green than the cover of that terrible Weezer album. Not only were they boiled, soggy, and drowning in their own sweat, they had almost no seasoning whatsoever. Not a speck of black in sight. No amount of sauce was saving this god awful mess. Unacceptable!

The staff is friendly, the music is diverse and always on point, ambiance is neighborly, food is delicious New American classics with a Cajun twist, beer is varied, well selected, and fairly priced.

Ordered an omelette here with brisket and really enjoyed it. Very friendly staff, gray atmosphere. Would love to try their late night menu.

This is a cool little place. We went last night for dinner with a few friends. Let’s start with the bad though. The place is tight! It was a Saturday so it was daily crowded. The place is also very dark, no real draft menu. It’s written on a chalk board, which is located in a bad spot. The menu on website is not the same in restaurant, that was a bit of a bummer. The good is the food. So four of us went and we all got something different. We started with the wings, fried pickles and poutine fries. All were very very good. The pickles were excellent but you only get a few slices in an order. As for entrees, my wife had a salad and I had the brisket sandwich. My wife enjoyed her salad, was missing the pecans but she overlooked. I thought the brisket was good, but it was very greasy and heavy. Not really what I expected but still good. Our friends ordered the burgers, one regular burger and one one special. The one on special was great they said, it had pastrami and bacon on it. He was loving it. The fries were also hand cut and very good. We ordered a few rounds of drinks, Fishtown iced tea, was good so were the draft beers. Bloody Mary wasn’t as good as expected. All in all I think we’ll be back.

Tried this place for the first time last week and I honestly can’t wait to go back. Atmosphere is divey, which I like, but the food is great! We got the Mac and cheese which was incredible and I got the brisket sandwich. Finally a place that does barbecue right! My partner got the chicken panini which she absolutely loved. French fries were fresh, and drinks were priced great at happy hour. Will definitely be coming back. Not to mention service was so friendly!

Drafthouse is a staple in our weekend brunch rotation, we usually end up here once a month or so– especially if we’re going with my parents. The outdoor space is great, even more so if you have little ones. The menu has something for everyone to enjoy(hubs & I are vegans, mom is veggie, & my dad’s an omnivore) so we all leave happy & with full bellies. The portion sizes are generous & reasonably priced. The blackened brussel sprouts are always a staple in addition to trying out as many other menu offerings as possible. The Bloody Mary is just kind of meh, but with the Fishtown iced tea on deck who needs a bloody? The draft list is always pretty extensive so you’re bound to find something to please.

Went with some friends for Taco Tuesday. The service was awesome. The food was above average across the board. Excellent value. The have this cracky-delicious Cajun creamed corn or somesuch. Amazing! It was dark as night inside and even with the little votive candles, I couldn’t see the menu, but overall a really great local spot that we’ll check out again.

This is a cool little bar in Fishtown that might becone my favorite spot. Their beer list is good with great craft and the cheap beers like Genesee. They have a decent happy hour of 4 dollar drafts and 2 buck PBRs. The food menu is very New Orleans inspired. The Mac n’ cheese with gator was delicious and I dug the breadcrumb topping. I will hope to come here more regularly and try all the other food, as well as drink more beer!

I get my hair cut right around the corner from here. My wife and I pass it all the time also when we bring our kids to the Rec. I stopped one day after work and waited a while to get service. Asked the bartender what he recommended on the menu and he simply waved his hand at everything and gave no specifics at all. I finally decided to go with a burger. When it arrived and I took my first bite, I knew it was well done and not medium like I ordered… Not very tasty, kinda bland. Since I was watching the eagles pre season game sat there for nearly 15 minutes with a empty beer can… I had to flag down the bartender in order to get another beer. And even then he didn’t even bother to ask how my burger was. I gotta say I’m glad I didn’t go on a date to check this out with my wife would have been a waste. Should have gone with my first instinct and gone around the corner to Kraftwerk.

This place has possibly the best burger I’ve had in Philly. They also have something called Swamp Fries which are delicious. You might be asking, «Hey Aaron, how do you remember your meal so vividly?» Well, it’s because I just ate here minutes ago with my friend Jack*. *Some names have been changed

So if I ever go missing on a Tuesday night, check here first, because chances are I’m getting down with some dollar tacos. Dollar tacos and four dollar pints has to be the best deal in town. I’ve never had seitan before trying it here, but the seitan tacos are my fave. But alas, it is impossible to stop at the tacos. Having sampled a good amount of their fare, I’m happy to report everything has been great. I especially love the wings here, which are in a bbq type sauce, a nice departure from basic bitch buffalo. Fried pickles are always delicious, and the black bean nachos with your choice of meat are perfection. The beer list is always solid, I just wish some beers would turn over a little quicker so I can’t try something new every week. But IDH has introduced me to some delightful new beers, DuClaw dirty little freak comes to mind. The waitresses are always super sweet and knowledgable about the beers on tap too. While the happy hour pricing seems to be a good deal, some of their other price points are a bit skewed in my humble opinion. $ 5 for chips and pico is a bit much. But IDH is a great option for a night out nonetheless, especially if that night happens to be Tuesday.

Interesting place. I drove up and it really looks like a rundown liquor store from the outside. Not that this is bad. Just saying that you are in the right spot if you can find that. They were super friendly when I said that I had a dog and they came out to let me in the back gate. The outside seating is nice with a lot from which to choose. The fish tacos were not bad, but needed a little more flavor. The oyster po boy, well, it lacked a lot. Nothing about it was really a po boy. If I go back I wouldn’t get it. We shared an order of fried pickles too. I always forget that friend pickles in PA are a beer battered chip instead of the typical southern fried chip that is not so heavily battered. They are ok. Just not my preferred fried pickle style. They have a fun beer selection. I would go back to try some other dishes and beer.

Stopped in to Interstate Drafthouse on my way out of town Sunday. Picked to have dinner here because I read the place was dog friendly. I had my dog with me, and they were super welcoming to us and him(lots of ear scratches!). They even set out a doggy water bowl for him. We were sat outside on this small but charming outdoor patio. Chalkboard ran the length of the privacy fence letting us know what they had on draft that night. Pretty decent beer selection with a variety of things I hadn’t heard of before, so props on a nice selection of craft brews. That being said, it took forever for us to be waited on. Our server did come by shortly after we were seated with waters and a nod to let us know he’d be with us shortly. Well, we waited … and waited. In fact, a couple that showed up and got seated after us actually got waited on before us. I think our server was the only staff working the patio and there was a handful of people. But still, it wouldn’t have been anything to at least get our beer order. When we finally ordered, we chose the fried pickles, fish tacos and oyster poboy. Our server came back about two or three times to ask us again what we ordered because he couldn’t remember. No big deal, I guess. But, for two people who had already been waiting for a bit, it was somewhat frazzling. Despite all that, our server was a really nice guy and was definitely apologetic. So that goes a long way in making things better. Now to the food: it did come out in record time and was piping hot. Now, I’m a Southern girl, so I can be somewhat picky when it comes to Southern food or Southern-inspired food. When I think of fried pickles, I think lightly breaded and crisp, with just the right amount of batter flavoring to not take away from the brininess of the pickle. These were not quite that. The pickles were very heavily battered, and the consistency was super thing and bread-like. As soon as you cut into the pickle, it essentially came out of the batter. Unfortunately, the batter was just to much a distraction to really enjoy the pickle. The ranch dressing that accompanied the pickles was nice and creamy. Sadly, the poboy was a huge disappointment. In place of the great, crusty French bread(which is a requirement to be an authentic poboy) was, I believe, a toasted hoagie roll. The fried oysters were unlike anything I’d ever seen or tasted. They were fried within an inch of their life, with the fry on them a super dark chocolate brown. Also, they were flattened out like a big hockey puck. It was really weird. The menu said that the oysters were fried with pecans. So, were ground pecans in the batter? Maybe that’s why they came out so dark? Not sure what the point of doing that was, but it definitely missed the mark. The oysters themselves were rather rubbery, which is a chance you take when frying them. The poboy itself was rather dry. I think there was some kind of aioli dressing on it, but it wasn’t enough. A simple nice slather of mayo would have been better. My friend got the fish tacos. They were ok. The fish was cooked nicely. I think the tacos could have been better if the slaw and aioli were a bit more flavorful. Just needed a bit more salt and seasoning. I see that their nachos and burger gets great reviews. In fact, the table next to us ordered the nachos, and not only did they look delish, the portion was HUGE! So, I could be tempted to give this place another try for those. However, in a town full of great eating options, I’d be ok making this my one and only trip.

My friend and I were going to grab a quick bite for dinner at kraftworks, but there was no parking near there so we had to park a couple blocks down around the corner and parked right in front of the interstate draft house. I’d always wanted to try it there and it was a nice night out so we decided to take advantage of the nice outdoor seating area. Prices are very reasonable especially with $ 2 tecate cans during happy hour. Here’s a Texas tip: ask for a chilled glass with a salt rim and lime and pour your beer in to that… It’s my fav way to drink Mexican beer. For food we started with the fried pickles which were a little overbreaded for my taste but my friend loved them! So I think it’s just a preference thing. I had the beet salad w/seitan on top and my friend had the grilled filet tips both were delicious! Next time I am definitely ordering a fishtown iced tea since they seemed to be the drink of choice at a large party table near us.

Interstate Drafthouse is my corner bar so I frequent it quite often. My favorite days to go are Taco Tuesday and Two Fisted Wednesdays. They offer dollar tacos and discounted beers on Taco Tuesday. Two fisted Wednesdays gets you a sandwich and a Philadelphia Brewing Company beer for $ 10. Interstate has a nice outdoor space so you can enjoy the weather. Only downfall is that you occasionally see some Opossums hanging around in the trees. Make sure you order at least one Fishtown Iced Tea!

Oh Interstate how do I love thee. Let me count the ways. 1. Every time I come to Philly you have more of the beers I want to try and can’t get in Florida. 2. Your beer flight is $ 10 for 6 beers. 3. You’re in stumbling distance of my sister’s house. 4. Blackened green beans so good my own Mother would steal them from me 5. Great salads 6. Great burgers. 7. Great happy hour deals 8. Did I mention the beer selection?

Been here for drinks a few times. Just tried out the food a week ago and returned a week later — it was that good. Favs so far. The pickle chips and huge pile of nachos are killer. Po boys on the spot too. Had the mac and cheese last night and it was good but I think I had really high expectations based on the reviews I read. Cheese sauce needed something it was a little too liquidy — bigger noodles or a thicker sauce maybe? Service — always super friendly! Awesome happy hour specials at regular hours and late night.

Holy hell. Have you tried the Interstate cheddar burger? Come by on a Wednesday night and it’ll be just $ 10– and that includes your choice of PBC beers on draft. Seriously. It’s «two-fisted Wednesdays.» Take advantage. The burger is smothered in cheddar, truffle aioli and cherry peppers for a little kick. Mine came out medium-rare as requested, and it’s just $ 1 to upgrade to a side salad. The fries portion is massive, and they’re thick cut and heavy(in the best way, of course) so if you’re dining with a partner, I recommend one of ya get the salad and the other, fries. Then share. One pet peeve? Barely any space under the bar. Can’t sit head-on with my knees bent at a normal angle. Taller folk, grab a table. This is a great neighborhood spot.
