A small little hole in the wall that gets the job done. It’s clean and orderly with new machines. Plus, you can get some shopping done in the market while you wait. Coin operated, self-service. The machine I used was $ 2.25 with .50 for an extra cycle. Fits about a normal loaf and a half. Dryers are .25 for 6 minutes, and since they’re new they dry like a charm. There’s almost no seating, so, be prepared to drop it off and duck out for a bit. There were only two chairs that I saw while I did my laundry.

Perfect place to get some laundry done. The machines are well priced and all in working order– although if you do have any problems there is always someone there to help. It can get crowded and the TV may be blasting, but you are in the middle of the market, so it just adds to the constant flow that is the market. Having mentioned the Italian Market(or 9th Street Market if you prefer), being right in the thick of it you can go wander around while your laundry is humming, have a coffee, etc or stock up on some groceries– can’t go wrong.

This laundromat’s a sure shot. I know the one on 10th has a solid following, but with brand new machines and better prices, this one gets my vote. It’s fairly small(only 15 washing machines) and narrow, but I’ve never had to wait. Regular size machines are $ 1.50, 3x are $ 4, and 5x are $ 5. Dryers are a standard $ 0.25 for 6 minutes. They’ve got the basics: ATM, change machine, detergent for sale, folding table, and scattered chairs. They do have an iron and a tabletop ironing board which is a nice touch. There’s wifi and a TV that usually has soccer matches on but it’s never super loud and annoying. The floor could be cleaner but eh, it’s South Philly and it’s not so bad. Bonus: being right in the middle of the market means you can get some food shopping in while you wait.
