Ivy Nails

My daughter and I get our nails done every other Saturday. We decided to try this place since it’s close to our house. We walked in and it was a few minutes before we were acknowledged and then they proceeded to tell us it was about 5 – 10 minutes of a wait. So we waited, and waited, and waited for another 20 minutes. I asked again how long and one of the girls who works there snapped at me and repeated 5 – 10 minutes. We will not be going back for the single fact that the customer service was unprofessional and rude.

I am a bit conflicted about this review because the ladies at Ivy Nails are very friendly and courteous. However, after only one day, my gel manicure looks like it didn’t cure properly and will scratch/​lift soon. Everything looked good when I picked out a color, however, by the time it was applied, the gel polish looked like it had been diluted the point where it had turned sheer. I also had to leave my hands in the UV station for longer than I’ve ever had to at any other salon. I complained that the color looked a bit washed out/​sheer on my nails but they looked at me like I was crazy. They also charge an extra dollar if you pay with a credit card — no matter how much or little the service costs. I wish I could give a better review but I’m not very happy with the quality of the gel polish used. I’ll probably go elsewhere next time.

Where do I start! I went for a mani and pedi with gel polish and it was the worst service ever. My pedi took 15 minutes and I don’t think she even cut half of my cuticles. My toe polish started chipping the next week. I can usually go 3 weeks with a good pedicure. My manicure was horrible a few days later it looked like I didn’t even have a manicure. Won’t go back here again

If I could give negative stars I would. This place is a hole in the wall near the Roxborough Shoprite. I just needed my brows, lip, and chin waxed, but I couldn’t bring myself to go through with it.
When I walked in with my friend, they barely acknowledge our presence. Eventually one lady flippantly says «What you want done?» I told her face waxing. They tell me to wait. 5 – 10 minutes later she says «come on» and leads me to a tiny area right behind the register/​check-​in. The room was DISGUSTING.
1. There were FLIES buzzing all over this tiny space.
2. The sheets and towels on the cot where you lay down for waxing had stains ALLLLLL over them.
3. There was piles of crap on top of the cot, like it was used for storage.
4. The wax looked used and COMPLETELY UNSANITARY.
IT LOOKED LIKE A DAMN INTERNMENT CAMP. (Not being funny or insensitive here.) It looked like something straight out of the darkest parts of history. All that was missing was a bucket of group diarrhea in the corner.
I walked into that room and walked RIGHT OUT. My friend and I exited immediately, and some woman (the owner, I assume) followed us out and asked «You don’t want eyebrows done?»
I straight up told her «No! It’s disgusting in there and dirty. Absolutely not. I CANNOT do it.» She had the audacity to look as though she was surprised.
Don’t go here unless you want some kind of face disease or body fungus. I was sick to my stomach. The filth in this place is atrocious. Never. Again. Sick.

Love going here and getting affordably pampered by Kathy and the girls at this salon. The prices are very reasonable, I’ve had to wait a total of 10 minutes in the 4 years I’ve been going, and I always leave thrilled with my mani-​pedi.

I have tried several salons in the area and around the city over the years. I have been a customer at Ivy Nails since its opening. Ivy Nails and the girls are not only friendly and accomodating but they make your time spent there an enjoyable one. They also offer complimentary eyebrow/​lip waxing accompanying services provided. Ivy Nails will always be my prime spot.
