The food is good, but the fact that you pay, get a receipt, and then wait for 40 minutes to find out that they comepletely forgot your order isnt. Very unprofecional.

Burgers are spectacular! Along with the onion rings, chicken tenders & fries. Service is wonderful. It was my first time eating there. I’ve heard so many good reviews, and now finally got a chance to see for myself. Definitely met all expectations!

I’ve only been here once, so this is a first impression review. As far as the food goes, Jake’s is above Wendy’s but falls a little bit short of Five Guys, which is probably the most comparable type of burger place. I went by myself and there were no other customers in the restaurant when I ordered. It’s made to order, so I knew there would be a 5 – 8 minute wait for the burger. What I didn’t expect was having to wait 20 minutes to get my chocolate shake. My burger came out at a reasonable time, but I had to wait an additional 10 – 12 minutes for my shake to arrive(I had somewhere else to be, so was constantly checking the time). Since this was my beverage, I waited till I got it before eating. Not surprisingly my fries were cold and the burger lukewarm. I might have had a better impression of the food if the service were better. I would have asked for them to bring me new fries, but I had to be elsewhere in a few minutes and couldn’t wait who knows how long. While I waited, 3 other parties came in and entered, which really isn’t that busy.

Waited over 15 minutes in the drive thru with only 2 cars ahead of me. so much for«fast food» Oh wait let me edit. the drive thru window has a sign stating they aren’t fast food. call ahead for faster service… then maybe the window should just be for pick ups.

Burgers: Decent. Wait time: Not so much. So during my lunch break I decided to stop by Jakes. I went through the drive thru and was really disappointed because I had to wait 7 – 10 minutes in the window for my food. Now let me elaborate… waiting 6 – 10 minutes for your food, in a regular-sit down-situation, would be considered fantastic… however, waiting that long in a drive thru seems kinda excessive. When I finally got the burger it was decent, juicy and such, but I would have been just as satisfied with a BK burger that would have been significantly faster and significantly cheaper. Its prob great for sit down but I will not be hitting the drive thru again…

If I could give this place less than one star, I would. Apparently on nights they aren’t «busy,» they close their store an hour early and only do drive thru orders. But since they are«closed,» you better not try ordering a milkshake. This policy isn’t posted anywhere. The employees are very rude. Worst restaurant service I have ever experienced. I should have expected it from a Five Guys wannabe. They may not sell milkshakes, but at least they stay open for as long as the store hours advertise!

I ordered a double bacon Jake burger with a large chocolate banana milkshake. The burger was so greasy that when I went to pick it up and bite into it, the burger and the pickles shot out from between the bun. I laughed because I really did not expect that. After a few minutes, my milkshake was ready and it wasn’t too bad. It wasn’t as fantastic as nifty fifties chocolate banana milkshake though.(I honestly believe that they did not have any banana in my milkshake. It just tasted like chocolate.) I got a really good laugh at the fact that the cashier wrote Kathline on my receipt instead of Kathleen.

Food here is good. I love the buffalo chicken with blue cheese sauce. That’s about it really, if it weren’t for the extra long waits sitting at drive thru this place might be worth the $ 8 spent on a meal.

Burger wasn’t bad but service was terrible. Staff was rude and drivethru took way too long. Went back again to give them another shot and had pretty much the same experience. Would have given one star but the food wasn’t that bad. NEEDSBETTERSERVICE

The food was ok but I’m really surprised I stuck around to eat after I put my arm down on the table and got stuck. Even trying to wipe whatever sticky disgustingness was on it myself with a wad of wet napkins was futile. Sooo what else… the majority of the waitstaff consisted of unfriendly teenagers, and the fries were bland and not very warm despite the 10 minutes it took to get our food. The burger was fine, just extremely messy. I would take any other burger place, including McDonalds, over this place.

When comparing burger joints and happening to be in this particular neighborhood, I vastly prefer Jake’s over Five Guys down the way. I really enjoy their food for being warm and comforting, the burgers are a decent size and the flavors are never lacking in my opinion. Service is alright, though I can see why some would get upset about it on a busy day(they seem understaffed and it takes a while to assemble the food they sell, so it can definitely be a long wait at times). The only real complaint I have is the price. Seven bucks for a burger, really? It’s a bit outrageous, but when I have some expendable cash I come here, the tasty food melts away the taste of bitterness over price at least.

The burger was good, but the fries left something to be desired. Jake’s is a little bit pricey compared to your average fast food burger joint, and I really expected a bit more than I got in the quality department. It’s not terrible, but if you want a better burger and fries, you have other choices, including Five Guys, which is on Grant Ave. just up the boulevard.

Did the drive-thru thing at JWB some weeks back. We got a veggie burger, a bacon and cheese burger, and an order of fries. It was alright– I think 3 star worthy, but don’t expect to be blown out of the fryer with this burger joint. I still prefer 5 Guys on Grant overall.

Give this place a try and you will never go back to McDonalds or Burger King for your fast food fix again. They take a little longer at the drive thru because it’s all fresh and made to order, but man o man is it worth the wait. Do yourself a favor and give it a shot, you won’t regret it. Went here again a few months later. We used the android app to order our food so that we wouldn’t have such a wait when we got there. Well we showed up at the time they gave us 20 minutes later, and pulled up to the window. The guy told us, «Uh we just started cooking the burgers because we didn’t want it to get cold.» What’s the point of ordering before hand? We had to wait in the parking lot 20 minutes for the food.

I lived in North WIlmington for 5 years, so I’m very familiar with this place. For some reason, I think their burgers in Delaware and Delco are better than the 2 I got at this location. My theory has always been that this place was started by former Nifty Fifty employees. The burgers and buns are the exact same as Nifty’s and they’re also know for their milkshakes. It’s pretty expensive for what you get, meal wise. The guy behind the counter was rather abrupt and more interested in talking to the 2 girls behind the counter than taking my order properly. I’d much rather this be the old Taco Bell again. There’s a 5 Guys up at Grant and the Blvd and I would gladly pass by Jake’s to get to 5 Guys. If I’m in the mood for a decent shake, I’d go to Nifty Fifty’s, also on Grant, instead.

Really disappointed with my burger mostly because I was expecting a flavor explosion with the«Rodeo» burger. Onion ring, 2 patties, american cheese and BBQ sauce. The bun was nice and tasty, at least. I had ordered online and arrived late to pick it up but it was still warm and juicy. You can really save and just get a better and cheaper meal at Burger King. Or if you want a really good burger, drive to the other side of the strip mall and go to Five Guys.

What you need to know: It shares a building with a Pizza Hut. Everything else is the same: filling, but not quite satisfying. Good for on the go though.
