My friend and I visited this place this past Friday night just to check out a local place to eat. We decided to eat in and the guy at the counter was very friendly. I ordered the chicken biryani and my friend ordered the curry lamb. We also ordered garlic naan bread. The food was delicious. I would give 5 stars but my friend and I both found hairs in our food which crept us out. She works at a hair salon so we thought it might be from her. I just took some of the leftovers out of the fridge to pack for work and found yet another long hair. That was it for me. I don’t think I’ll be returning here solely for that reason. Yuck!

This place really hovers between 2 and 3 stars for me where I ended up going on the lower end of the spectrum. Under new ownership this place canceled lunchtime hours only being open for dinner. It’s also not just Indian but«Asian» food as well. Ended up grabbing take out. Not a fan of taking out curries I ended up going with a wrap option, which struck me as odd as I had never seen a wrap on an Indian menu. Now this wasn’t typical or authentic Indian by any means. The cook/cashier seemed to be Hispanic which is a complete 180 from every other Indian place I’ve been to, which are generally Indian owned and operated. I must say the green curry wrap was tasty. It was a hybrid mexican Indian concoction. Basmati rice, with some green curry, lettuce, and tomatoes. Not much to it. Wish it was saucier. The samosas were on par with other places and had a good tamarin chutney(once again less authentic and more on the sweet side). For adequate not so authentic Indian food this might satisfy you but if you are off put buy limit hours, lack of décor, hard to get a good phone number and limited online info you might want to choose elsewhere.

This is one of the finest places in Philadelphia to get Indian cuisine. If you enjoy authentic Indian food, Jazmin is by far one of the best restaurants out there. What’s different about Jazmin… well for one he doesn’t use spices that you can pick up at any Indian grocer, he makes these in house. The food is always made fresh, no reheated stuff here. One thing I find missing in Indian restaurants is that the Chicken Kadhai tastes like the butter chicken tastes like the chicken tikka masala… in short it all tastes the same with the same curry and some subtle variations. I’ve had the good fortune of enjoying some of the best Indian cuisine around the world, I can tell you Jazmin ranks right up there with the best. On a side note don’t get turned away by the location or the ambience, the food more than makes up for it !

The food at this low-key restaurant is AMAZING!!! The chicken dishes I ordered were so tender and juicy that made me, a non-Indian restaurant goer, into a believer! I LOVE the freshness of everything! Highly recommend this place!!!

A wonderful little find. We love mom and pop establishments and this is a good one. The samosas were hot and fresh. They were delicious as were the two sauces that came with them. The one with chickpeas we gave up using as a dipping sauce and went for the big spoon. We agreed we could have eaten more. The main dishes were good. we liked the spinach and cheese dish better. i think the dal was bland because we said no spicy. I think they thought we said no spice. We will definitely go back and bring friends.

Visited this place on a whim last week and was NOT disappointed! Ordered the hummus, which was plain-looking, but it came as a huge portion and very tasty(at least two should share this). I could have used more naan to scoop the hummus up, though(only two pieces per person). For my meal, I ordered the chicken tikka masala and boy was it tasty! The rice was multi-colored in yellows, oranges, and whites and really complemented the color of the chicken(deep orange). The rice came on its own plate and the chicken in a bowl alongside. There was ample sauce to pour over the rice and the chicken chunks were numerous, extremely tender, and well-sized. All was quite fresh as well. I am very picky about Indian food, but this place blew me away. A must-try, for sure.

This place was delicious! I came here with my girlfriend and had a great experience. She got the Chicken Tiki Masala and I got the Bombay Chicken. Both of our dishes of chicken were super tender, the meat just fell apart, was super juicy, and the Jasmin rice is really pretty too. We also had the hummus for an app and that was very good.

This is a new place that has opened up in the overbrook neighborhood. The place looks clean but ordinary. If you are looking for ambience then this is not the place. Their menu is still limited and they do not have everything that is there in the menu. The good thing is that food is made fresh and tastes good. Definitely try their kebab roll appetizers, a definite value for money. We have been here twice since this is really a stone’s throw away. This can be a good take away desi joint in the neighborhood provided they maintain their standard. Incidentally, the owner is often at the premise and is very welcoming and friendly.

Really good food! Great restaurant to sit-in or take out! We eat at Tiffin regularly but we enjoyed this even more.

Terrific meal! My husband and I stopped in for take out on the way home from work last night. We ordered all veg – naan, samosas, veg biryani, a dish with spinach and chickpeas(I forget its exact name) and some raita on the side. Hot, fresh, delicious! The owner was friendly and accommodating. Another couple was eating in while we waited(it was early – about 6pm). We will definitely be back, and I’m definitely adding it to my list of places to take myself when my husband is traveling. A wonderful addition to that stretch along 63rd Street not too far from the Overbrook train station.
