For a corner deli, you really can’t go wrong. The sandwiches are amazing and now the new owner has spring rolls, fried rice, dumplings and soups. It’s a little weird at first but the sandwiches here has always been amazing and fresh. The staff are just as great and the owners are very friendly.

Really amazing hoagies, Sarcones rolls. You should get it. They also have Franks Root Beer.

I moved into the neighborhood a few months ago and am disappointed that I waited so long to try this place.
The interior of the deli is modest and simple, and the fact that it is a family business is apparent very quickly. I was greeted warmly by Valerie and she was eager to and confident that she would impress me.
I ordered an Italian hoagie with the works and Valerie got right to work making what she called not just a sandwich, but a piece of art. I’ll tell you, she wasn’t kidding. With quality, fresh cold cuts on Sarcone’s bread, it’s hard to go wrong, but the extra TLC went a long way. I got a side of potato salad, and although it was completely different from what my mother used to make, it was fresh and delicious in its own right.
The prices and food are great, and the people are better. I’m adding this to my list of my regular spots. Don’t hesitate to stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

Old School deli a shame nieghberhood changed. It use to be very busy place for lunch ! Has to be 30 years in business ! Haven’t been there in prolly 7 years. Use to have a good hoagie …

Now I know why JR’s Deli calls themselves ‘The Earl Of Sandwiches” After trying their Chicken Cutlet Hoagie, I can see where JR’s can make that claim The sandwich was still warm when I sat down to eat it in the park 15 minutes later The Chicken Cutlets were lightly breaded with lots of Italian seasonings and it still had a crunch when I bit into the sandwich. JR’s uses a Sarcone roll (of course) with long shavings of Sharp Provolone Cheese, along with tomatoes, lettuce, onions and what else-​hot peppers. I have since tried of lot of items on their rather large menu and I never was disappointed. The staff there is family and very friendly, they also offer delivery service in the area.
