Went here around the beginning of December and I didn’t have high expectations because I knew my hair was beyond repair, all there was left was to chop everything off and I was ready to chop it all off BUT they were able to leave my hair at mid length giving it some time to grow some more. I also got a color and I walked out feeling great about my hair. The students here already know what to do but they have a teacher always around and making sure you are okay. Glad I found this gem!

Went here yesterday, and came out with the best haircut I’ve had in 5 years!(Ask for Taylor C if you go!) I know that people have complained about the time, but you have to bear in mind that *these are students*, and you’re paying bargain prices for this kind of work — that’s something you should expect going in, especially in a place like the Aveda Institute that is training people to be *really excellent* at what they do. I was out in about two hours, and I’ll definitely be back! :-D

always go here to get my hair done, just as good as a salon but less expensive, I have gotten highlights, cuts, updos for weddings, never had any bad experiences, just got color(entire head) & it cost $ 23 I will continue coming, they prefer a appt be made but I have been able to get done without an appt

I came in for a men’s haircut during the evening hours and I was highly impressed. The outstanding professionalism combined with good atmosphere really made it feel like a real salon rather than a school. The instructors are always around so for those that are fearful of your hair getting butchered this is not the case at Jean Madeline… Also the price was great $ 10 and they washed my hair… Can’t beat it !!!

So it was a nice place but way to long of a time. We had an appointment of 10:30am. We left after 3pm. So overall nice but they need to practice on their time.

Great if your on a budget, $ 21.00 for hair color medium length, little more if you need a volumizer. Great for a scalp massage, shampoo, conditioner and style. Again, wait a little bit longer because they are students but most have had their most of the clinical already done. emk

Lauren Dubzak hooked me UP! For $ 18 I got an updo! She had to curl my entire head and then styled it perfectly! I looked fabulous and got many compliments at my event. Their prices are very affordable and it’s great to help these girls get their certifications!

You can not beat this place. It is a beauty school; so the prices are cheap($ 16 for a haircut) and they use the BEST products. You can’t go there if you are in a rush b/c they are students! Brings a book. I like to try and get the gossip — it’s a room full of 22 y/o girls and a couple gay guys.

This was my first time getting a haircut at a beauty school, and I loved it. I was assigned to a student who had my same hairtype and everyone was very nice. Her teacher checked everything — took about 2 hours. There is one small piece that looks too long– so I would say there is a noticeable difference from my usual $ 65 haircut, but definitely worth it for $ 16! Plus, you get a free head/hand massage, and fancy tea. I felt like I was in a salon. I will definitely go back.
