Jennifer Nizen, MD

I’ve been going to Dr. Nizen for 20 years and she is always professional and thorough and always calls me when there is a specific problem. I’ve never had a problem with her care and would recommend her for a solid primary.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Nizen’s for almost 10 years now. I’m a fan. I’m not a high need patient so my experience is based on pretty standard (mostly) annual visits and occasional visits for specific small ailments. Dr. Nizen has an easy manner; she’s thorough in her assessments and reasonable in her approach to solving what ails and dispensing medical advice. I very much appreciate the combination and would absolutely recommend her.

I called Spruce Internal Medicine today about a URI that is hanging on & got an appointment with my PCP, Dr Jennifer Nizen, for this afternoon. It’s the usual standard of care in this practice. I like it that Dr Nizen does Pap smears & breast exams as part of care. IF you check her credentials on the PennCare site, you’ll see that, while her general practice is as a PCP, she is particularly focused on women, elderly, and gay patients. Since I’m 2 of those 3, she is up to speed on all my ailments.
Competent, professional, and thorough. I’m a 70 year old female health professional who found her after a long search and I’ve been completely satisfied. I wrote a much more detailed review posted under Spruce Internal Medicine.

Did not have good experience. I went in persistent headaches and despite asking again twice before the end of my appt, left with only her recommendations for things that she suggested I address that had nothing to do with what I came in for. Upon following up on a call for an urgent prescription refill that her office staff told me was already taken care of, she left an obnoxious message on my voicemail that she would take care of it after the weekend. Seems like others have had good experience, but I did not.

Jennier Nizen is a friendly and thorough doctor who specializes in women’s health. She takes her time and practices the rare art of actually LISTENING to her patients, and asks a lot of questions.
She will also do pelvic exams (pap smears, etc) which is great because we all know how long it takes to get an appointment at the cooter doctor. If you’re not pregnant, and don’t need an OBGYN, I would suggest making her your primary care physician. One visit with her eliminates two separate appointments and doctors.
