Joltin Jabs

Today was my first boxing class at joltin joes, great workout. I am buying a 12 pack and can’t wait to return.

Great workout, awesome myk location, Joey really knows how to motivate. Can be expensive, but you will get results… results cost you.

Joltin Jabs and Joey DeMalavez is the best. He is is tough, makes it fun, and makes you feel like you did two workouts in one hour. His schedule is very flexible, and he is a very dedicated person and a great teacher.

Joey will kick your ass. You will be shaking you’ll be so tired. class sizes are small. you don’t need to own gloves or wraps.
Charles Barkely walked in for 1:1 with Joey right after one of the 6am classes I did… seriously. Just nonchalantly walked in and started stretching & wrapping his hands!

… in the afternoons they’re super strict on the hour — I was running back to my car, ~3 min late, saw the guy standing there, giving me a ticket although he could see me =(

I’ve been going to Joltin’ Jabs for about 4 months now. I couldn’t be happier with the classes and the teaching that Joey provides. Each class consists of a variety of exercises that are split into 3 minute rounds. You get a 30 second break in between rounds and the rest of the time you are working. Examples of exercises include jump rope, boxing combos, speed bag, heavy bag, and defense practice (similar to a controlled sparring). There are a lot of other exercises and Joey does a good job of introducing new ones or twists on old ones in order to keep the classes interesting.

I’ve been taking boxing lessons with Joey Demalavez for about a year now. Not only the workout is intense but the spirit of the place is really good. Joey is a character but you’ll love him!

I have been going to Joltin Jabs for boxing workouts for five weeks now, and am still enjoying it very much. While there is no actual boxing ring in the facility, these classes are certainly a several steps beyond the «boxing cardio» you’d see at your local mega-​gym.
The place is run by Joey DelMalavez, who has a winning pro boxing record, but more importantly is very personable, and a good motivator. I signed up for a 12 lesson package and pay around $ 18/​hour for «Group» lessons, with group meaning up to six people, or possibly just you if you happen to be the only one to show up for a given time slot. All in all, a good value from my perspective.
The actual workouts are no joke; I was actually in fairly decent shape when I started going, but the workouts still kicked my ass pretty throughly the first few times. Boxing is hard work and you learn this quickly.
So all in all, I’m hooked on these boxing workouts; they are challenging to say the least, and Joey has proven to be both a capable teacher and motivator at a very reasonable cost.
