Since we moved to Point Breeze we wanted to patronize a hoagie place in the neighborhood. We discovered K&A through Unilocal and we were not disappointed. I’ve been there 3 times and the people working at the counter have always been generally friendly and definitely focused on their job, which is getting you a solid hoagie as quickly as possible. They use an efficient 4 person system. The first guy asks you for your order(bread/spread/meat/cheese) while he preps your bread and spread. The next guy FRESH slices the meat and puts it on the roll. The 3rd guy gets all your fixing on and wraps the hoagie. The 4th rings you up and you’re all set. There’s often a line in here but the wait has never been too long because of this fast system. K&A focuses on hoagies and sandwiches and you can tell. The bread is seeded and is a quality roll, and the ingredients seem fresh. Hoagies will set you back $ 8-$ 8.50 but are usually chock full of meat and fixings so it’s a reasonable price. Sandwiches are $ 6.75. They also sell some hot sandwiches($ 3-$ 8), hot dogs($ 2.75-$ 3.50), soups($ 3-$ 4), and party trays($ 50-$ 70), as well as assorted drinks, chips, etc. I really like K&A and will be back.

Good sandwiches for a low price. If you’re in a hoagie mood and in the area, I would definitely give it a shot.

I am waiting here, starving, for my hubby to come back with my Italian hoagie. We drive out there from Art Museum area to get these hoagies. They are fantastic! And so well priced.

My new sandwich shop! Great Service, great product! Wish they had longer hrs. There is no other place on this side of South Philly to get a sandwich, steaks are pretty good as well.

Been here a couple of times now. The owners of the store are extremely nice, and they sure know how to make a great hoagie! I’ve had the Allan Special and Karen Special thus far both are were huge, definitely big enough to share. Each sandwich is packed with multiple meats and you can add any topping you like. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great sandwich in Point Breeze.

This place is definitely not the best hoagies ever — as someone else wrote, but it’s a good sandwich, and the prices are reasonable. Heard about this place from a friend and finally was in the area and tried it. They make a decent hoagie. The meat was good and the portion of meat was decent. The bread is the standard Amoroso type roll(no Sarconne’s roll’s here). The staff didn’t seem friendly at first — no greeting or acknowledgement that your standing there waiting. I had to ask if I was in the right place to order. Once the staff actually talk with you, you get the sense that their just quite as they do there work — and just don’t have great customer service skills. All in all, I would definitely go back if I’m in the area to try one of the cheese steaks. Oh, the place is very clean and organized. And the woman at the register was very nice and friendly.

Wow! They certainly know how to dress a sandwich here! fantastic bread and they do a good job with the onions– grilled or freshly sliced. In the age of Blimpies and Subway, fixing up a sandwich is a lost art. These guys are the real neighborhood thing. And the waitstaff is personable. Try the mini pie filled with sweet potato too! Mmm!

I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of this sandwich(this is what prompted me to write reviews about other recent hoagie experiences). It’s a clean small sandwich shop that seems to be grounded in customer service. The meat is cut to order, hence it is very fresh and seems to be of good quality. I ordered a Karen’s Special(corned beef, spiced beef, beef pastrami, beef salami, american cheese) and it was spectacular. I also tasted a Zoey’s Gobbler Special(turkey ham, turkey salami, gourmet turkey, turkey pastrami, swiss cheese) and it was pretty good. The sandwich is the right blend of meat & veggies and very flavorful. I think this is my new go-to hoagie shop!

I visited this South Philly establishment for the first time today. The sign over the door reads«Best Hoagies in Philly» and when my friend and I walked in, the narrow shop was packed with customers– a second good sign. Prices are good– under $ 20 for two large hoagies, drinks, and chips– and the hoagies are huge– like seriously overflowingly huge with extra meat and cheese and generous servings of whatever else you ask for– and delicious– I unwrapped mine in the car and couldn’t stop eating on the drive home. When we got to the register the co-owner Karen(K) recognized that we weren’t regulars and chatted with us for a few minutes and introduced us to her husband Allen(A). She then gave each of us a free dessert as a first-time visitor special– lemon cake for me, sweet potato pie for my friend. This shop is in the Point Breeze neighborhood which is a little out of the way for me, but worth a special trip if you are looking for a great sandwich.

Inexpensive, Huge, Banggin sandwiches. Made to order right there in front of you. Pretty tight if you live in the neighborhood. …all you really gotta deal with is the other customers.
