I have visited K Diner several times over the past two years, and the food is always good. I had an issue with the manager(?) miscounting my money a few months ago, but I wrote it off as a one time thing. However, after eating there yesterday, my wife and I will NEVER go back. The restaurant was crowded, and there was only one waitress on duty. She was clearly stressed out and I guess she was doing her best. We had to wait at least 15 minutes before we got service. And that was only because I got up and complained. In the meantime, other customers were pissed about the service and two men got up and complained to the manager. The manager was extremely rude and nasty. She told both of them to leave the counter and go back and sit down. In fact, she told one of them to leave and never come back. Ironically, by the time I was finished my meal and went to pay, she was generally polite again. She even said«thank you» when I left. I am not sure why they didn’t have more waitstaff there. There used to be a couple of very good waitresses there. Maybe people called out at the last minute. Or perhaps the other waitresses got sick of the nasty manager and quit. Whatever the reason, there was no excuse for treating customers so badly. I won’t be going back to be potentially insulted like that.

Definitely no-frills. I’ve only ever had the breakfast. My family used to come here quite often when I was younger, but we stopped because we didn’t like the cornmeal pancakes. I really had a taste for diner-style breakfast today so I decided to give them another try — I’d just get French toast or something. So I go. I see the new menu and I’m happy that they now serve buttermilk pancakes. Score! I order my usual Hungry Man, and pay. I sit and wait. A dine-in patron comes to the front to ask for plastic cutlery. The owner, who had just taken my order, tells the man that plastic cutlery is for take-out orders only, and he can use what he was given. He then says, «let me show you something» and walks back to the table where his wife was seated. I’d assumed the silverware wasn’t clean. That’s when I heard him say«you call this clean?!» The owner, an older Asian woman proceeds to shout«it’s a scratch!» And begins to get very frustrated with the man. After a few seconds of back-and-forth she storms back up to the counter and slides their plates on it, and throws the silverware into the dirty bin, grumbling about«some people» and«cheap people.» At this point the guy and his wife were out the door. She then went to the door to yell at them some more, but I’m not sure what she said. The whole time I’m sitting there like. I just want my food so I can go! So, whatever. My food comes. I peace out. I was driving back home and smelled French toast coming from the bag. A wave a dread washed over me because I did NOT want to go back and potentially have to argue with this lady. So I pull over and see that I have both pancakes and French toast. I was under the impression that you get either/or with the Hungry Man… but hey. More for me. So I get home, tear through the eggs, home fries, and bacon. All delicious. I waited a while to eat the pancakes and.WELP. They tasted like box pancakes. I was so sad because I had debated going to ihop earlier but I don’t care for their sides too much. Ixnay on the pancakes. Smh. The French toast was delicious though! Just not what I wanted today. TLDR: don’t get the pancakes. Don’t dine in.

Great food, quiet environment. Affordable and the wait staff are in Yoga Pants. Must be Yoga pants Saturday here lol. The misses is enjoying eggs Benedict and I have a hungry man. The refills on the coffee are a plenty. A definite must check out. The only bad side. They close around 3pm daily

This restaurant is NOTKIDFRIENDLY! On March 232011MYSONAND I DECIDED to have breakfast. It went well at the beginning, but I began to feel rush. The waitress gave me my bill very early i dnt like to recieve the bill until im almost finish with my meal especially when I tell the waitress that im still undecided on what I want to eat! My son is 2 and he wasnt even being loud and the Owner or manager came over and told my child to be quiet! I couldnt enjoy my coffe because she stayed over my booth hovering around acting like she was doing something to make us feel uncomfortable so we could leave! My son is only 2 he is a baby and she kept telling him to be quiet and yelling at him. When I payed my bill I tipped her and she snatched the money from me and turned her back! I was in shocked! I couldnt believe she did that! I WILLNEVEREATATTHISRESTAURANTAGAIN!!!

This is the type of place Alyson thinks I’ll get murdered in some day. At no extra cost, the food happens to be tasty and inexpensive — and breakfast is served all day long. For $ 4.95 you get a full plate — 3 eggs, home fries, toast, juice, coffee, water(and meat if you want it!) The people come clean here — pretense minimized to annoying cell phone conversations and equally loud rants at the waitress for her poor description of the soup o’ the day. I asked the hostess what the name«K-Diner» means — and she wasn’t sure, but she felt it had something to do with the K Laundromat across the street. Some runes scrawled in crayon along the back wall outside seemed to indicate this eatery was once termed«Meemee’s Luv-In Diner». This place is worthy of a sunny day bikeride — or bus-schlep, if just to admire the nether regions of Philadelphia County. I don’t think shoes nor shirts are required.
