I originally went to check out this club for lessons for sailing, and found out they had much more to offer. Essentially this is a club for anyone in philly that is interested in learning to sail for leisure or competitively. This is the best alternative to owning your own boat(that is if you don’t have a friend that owns a boat), as the club funds itself through its annual dues to pay for maintenance of their fleet, which consists of 7 –J-27’s. The group is a good mix of young and experienced sailors, and they certainly know how to have fun. They have their own club house, which they meet at before and after each day for food and drinks(they have their own wet bar.) Overall, if you are looking to sail in Philly, look no further.

Loads of fun! It was my first time sailing and my friend is a member of the sailing club. He and his friend taught me how to prep the sails and pull up the sails. I also got to steer the tiller. We got some wind which was definitely helpful. haha. It was fun learning how to work with the wind, I still have a lot to learn. But I highly recommend this place for anyone that likes the outdoors and doesnt get motion sick. I am looking forward to finding time to go again! :) The people I met that day were all really great and we had dinner together afterwards at the club house. :)
