The service here is great! Sitting outside is lovely and I haven’t had a meal here that wasn’t delicious! I came here with my niece and nephew and they loved the mac & cheese. I highly recommend this place. I don’t live in Philly anymore, but I stop by every time I’m in town.

I always wanted to try this place since I live so close to this area. My friend and I decided to try this place out one weekend. We tried the fondue for two. It was ok. I’d give it a 2.5 to 3 stars. For my entrée, I got the chipotle pulled pork tacos and I honestly could not finish it. The portion size was huge but the tacos didn’t taste right. The texture of the rice was very slimy and the favor was very off. It was so sour. Almost as if it was spoiled. I ended up just picking at food for the rest of the night. My friend got the K rock burger and she seemed to like it. She ate more than half of it(She never finishes her food so that’s a good sign that she ate more than HALF of it). I guess, what I ordered wasn’t that great but maybe I’ll be back and skip the tacos and try one of the burgers. I would’ve given them a 1 but since my friend’s dish was good. 2 it is! Pros? They accept credit cards and even amex!

Brought my cousin here for dinner before a show at union transfer, they refused to serve me a beer because my cousin is 18. I am 30 years old, seriously? I was really looking forward to enjoying a good craft beer with my meal. Awful.

Visiting Philadelphia for a concert, stumbled upon Llama Tooth. It’s super cute. We had a beautiful day for October, so we sat in the beer garden. The ambiance was really nice and relaxing. We both ate the buffalo blue chicken mac n’ cheese! It was amazing. Happy hour drinks were delicious with an extensive beer menu. It was the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat. Our server Sabrina was really sweet! Everything was awesome! Thank you! :)

I’ve always been curious about llama tooth when I pass it driving on spring garden or coming out of a concert at Union transfer. Finally had an opportunity to come through. Had a great time here at Llama tooth. The eggplant fries are really tasty! They almost look like a bread stick at real quick glance. I had the pork sliders… and the sangria was definitely smooth! I was able to sit outdoors as the weather cooperated this particular day. Will come back again as I was told their brunch menu is quite nice too…

Cute, outdoor patio dining with gorgeous large murals painted on the walls, unique artwork, soft lighting and a tiki bar– this was a nice spot to have a drink and an appetizer before a show across the street. The beer menu was extensive and impressive. My llamarita was tasty but small. The beer and blue cheese fondue was light, and hit the spot. Overall, a pleasant experience.

How have I never been to Llama Tooth before? I kid you not, I was kind of obsessed with llamas in middle school. The inside of the restaurant has all sorts of pictures and paintings with llamas. So cute! But to be honest, you don’t go to Llama Tooth to sit inside. They have this fab courtyard right off of Spring Garden Street. I was really impressed by the bottled beer list. They have so many offerings it’s really hard to decide. Luckily, the server was super patient and helpful in the beer selection process. I went for brunch and got the best of both worlds of breakfast and lunch with the Wakey Wakey Burger. I was even able to make some made-for-Michelle substitutions. Rather than cheddar, I got goat cheese. I also ordered jalapenos to top it all off. The burger was huge and really messy to eat. I never had that full bite of everything. It was more a cured bacon than a traditional breakfast bacon. All of the fixings never quite meshed with each other. The breakfast potatoes were crispy and tasty. It wasn’t bad, but I probably wouldn’t get the burger again. So aside from not absolutely loving the burger, the atmosphere was cute, the beer list was fab and the service was great. All and all, I’m a fan.

Yum! We came here mostly to look at the various llama-related works of art but also enjoyed the food. We tried several types of mac & cheese(each made with an orecchiette pasta) and they were phenomenal. The truffle one probably won favorite in my book but the buffalo hot sauce one was also quite yummy. The barbecue pork one was a bit overwhelming(too much barbecue sauce for something that’s supposed to be mainly mac & cheese) but still delicious. We also had the fondue for 2(except 4 people shared it) and it was decent. The cheese was hot and gooey and never seized up, even though it took us a good 20 minutes to finish it. They have kimchi as a side dish option, if you’re so inclined. It was okay. The patio is probably the best feature though. Surrounded by murals, fairy lights, and a small bar in the middle, it’s a super quaint little summery hangout spot.

This review us fir the patio only: nit the inside. The biggest problem with Llama tooth is the location, otherwise, Good Food Y’all!!! I went with my friend and we got 4 drinks. The beer list is extensive, and the service was good. I ordered a burger and it was perfect. My compatriot ordered the bbq pork mack and cheese. When asked how he would describe the mac and cheese, my buddy shook his head slowly and said, «yuuuuuuuup, it was really good». The portions were nice. The whole time there we were listening to Bob Marley(which we LOVE). There’s a cool bamboo porch and a tiki bar, which also had an extensive beer list. While we were there the owners dad walked in. Apparently Llama tooth is a family affair!

Really wanted to like this place, but it was just a huge miss on the food even though the people were great. I would still recommend going there for drinks before a show or otherwise. I hope they eventually get the food right but for now its barely a 3 for food. The service and people were the only thing that pushed this from 2 — 3 stars.

Went here for brunch. We sat outside because the indoor had no AC. The menu is pretty small. But the beer menu is pretty extensive. As for the food, I wasnt inpressed.

Great outdoor seating location! Many vegetarian options was a plus. I ordered the spring garden burger and a Bloody Mary which was loaded with flavors

The location is great, and there’s an awesome outside patio, but the service is literally awful. It took us 25 minutes to get drinks and about an hour to get our food. The server seemed to not know she was even working, and I think there was a general manager putzing around(not sure because he was wearing a bathing suit…) but he seemed to have no urgency about making sure people had food. They didn’t have fries at noon, and they ran out of OJ. We were one of four tables there and the server couldn’t handle it. Won’t be back!

Where to begin… we arrived shortly after opening and the front door was locked. We peeked through the window and figured they were late opening and walked over to look at the posted menu. Since we were planning on seeing a concert after dinner, we didn’t feel like going to another locale, so we weren’t thrilled about leaving or them being late. Just when we were about to leave, we saw the hostess standing outside by the outdoor tables. :-/ When we were seated, we suggested that they put a sign by the front door telling people to go around back. She just laughed and said they had one, but they didn’t anymore. It was getting chilly and it was windy and I asked if we could sit inside and she said they were only seating outside, but she would light the heat lamps. While she bathed us in gas trying in vain to light the lamp, I picked up my glass to retrieve my menu. In the split second my glass was gone, so was my menu. It was across the yard. I got up and chased it and the waitress chased me in an attempt to help me. The waitress tried again to light the unwilling lamp and at that point, my husband demanded we be sat inside again. LOL. She said she’d go speak to the manager. A few minutes later, she took us inside. It was a cute place; small. I can see why they tried to make so many people sit outside. They cut out llama faces and put them on the faces of people in all of their pictures and paintings. While we were sitting there, several people kept coming up to the door and pulling on it like we did, trying to gain entry and then stood confused trying to figure out how to get inside. We probably made it worse because they could now see people inside where we saw the place empty. When we ordered our drinks, they arrived fairly quickly. I ordered the house sangria and it was pretty tasty, but it turned out it wasn’t quite what I was in the mood for that night. It is on the sweet side, so beware. :) I would drink it again if I HAD to go back. As far as the food goes, it took FOREVER. The entire point of us eating there was because of the convenience of being across the street from Union Transfer. Don’t plan on eating here if you are on a timeline. We must have waited well over 30 – 40 minutes for our food and we were one of the first ones to place our food order! I got the bbq Mac and Cheese. It was underwhelming. It wasn’t really horrible, but it wasn’t great. I ended up only eating a handful of bites and I called it quits. Their french fries were good though. They have good sweet potato fries too. I don’t recall what my husband had, but he was fairly ambivalent about his meal as well. We waited forever for her to come back to get the check and she never came. So we eventually went to her. Then she took our card and never came back. I think it took her about 10 minutes to ring our bill once she had it and she only did it after another guy(maybe the manager) saw me standing by the counter for a while and asked me if I needed help and he went out and got her. In the end, I think I probably wouldn’t eat there again. My overall experience just wasn’t worth it. It really seemed like a cute place by their website and their menu seemed really appealing, but the service was awful and the food was just so-so.

NOTE: This review is just for the patio & service! Went here last night before the Matt Pond PA show at UT, just for a drink and the atmosphere. It was a beautiful night, the patio is AWESOME(including the great mural). Sangria was totally decent and inexpensive, waitstaff were attentive and fun. Menu is a little small and not very vegetarian friendly, but we will be back for the patio!

Very quiet Sunday night! Are waitress was very nice and the beer menu was extensive(all bottles)! Not a very big menu but makes it easier to decided on what to have! The crab cakes we fabulous, as was the BBQ pulled pork make and cheese! Loved the presentation of everything as it come out! I tend to enjoy how places present their food, it’s a craft! The restaurant was very clean, llamas everywhere! This place is definitely worth a shot!

Came here before a show at Union Transfer, it was almost empty and we were seated immediately. My boyfriend and I shared the Beer Mushroom Bruschetta for an appetizer– something very different. The pieces of bread were cut quite thick, that was the one thing a little weird for me since typically bruschetta is thin slices of bread. It kind of made it hard to eat, but the mushrooms, bleu cheese, and balsamic reduction made a great flavor combination! For my entrée I had the Pub Burger, it was delicious! Cooked a perfect medium rare, the jalapenos and pepper jack made it spicy but not overly so, and the chipotle aioli is fantastic. Expert tip– ask for some extra aioli on the side to dip your fries. The fries were pretty good, crispy and definitely hand cut in house, but maybe could’ve been a little crispier. Our server was also great. My boyfriend spilled his glass of water all over the table(and me and him), and the glass broke. Immediately there were 3 servers flocking to our table to clean up the spill, and they left us some extra paper towels to dry ourselves off. It was also fast, and they have a large draft list with reasonably-priced beers. Would definitely come back!

I went there before a show at Union Transfer twice, but I don’t quite remember the first time and I’m always afraid that if I don’t remember a place, it means I don’t really like it. Well, when we went again last night, I won’t be forgetting this place. We sat inside(the last time we sat on the patio), and the place is kind of like my parent’s dining room. The tables are very close together, it seems as though it would get very loud on a busy night, probably the only knock I have on the place. The cramped seating could be spread out a little more, but then they wouldn’t have enough room for business, which I get. There are paintings and photos on the wall, and I had to double take to see the llama heads the crew taped onto the heads of the people. The experience was pretty surreal, a normal setting with wacky paintings that no one seemed to acknowledge. Anywho, enough about the ambiance, food and drinks! The beer list is extensive, moderately priced, and they include the Beer Advocate rating for each which is super helpful, but also sad when you see your favorite beer in the 80s. My beer had, according to the girlfriend, the«appropriate head of foam,» so I guess that’s a good sign that they know how they’re pouring, right? For dinner, she got the Rosemary Ranch Chicken Breast, and I got the Pub Burger medium. The burger blew me away! I am not good when it comes to spicy food, and this thing was NOT subtle with the heat. But the flavor was so amazing, from the bacon to the jalapenos that I just couldn’t put it down. The burger was cooked to perfection, the bun was lightly grilled, and the aioli sauce just blended everything together. Even the pickle that it came with was crisp, like it came right out of the garden! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, although to be honest, I think I enjoyed her mashed potatoes a million times more. They were so creamy and garlicy that I found myself eating the mashed potatoes more than my own fries! Walking into the place was surreal, a place I never would have imagined in the heart of Philadelphia. I enjoyed sitting out on the patio a lot more. However, the food and the beer list, two things I won’t be forgetting again. A memorable meal will have me coming back before more shows at Union Transfer.

Not sure exactly what the obsession with llamas is all about — it’s actually somewhat disturbing — but Llama Tooth is a pleasant brunch spot on the weekends. You’ll have the option of eating on the patio, which is actually a much bigger area than the inside dining room. So if you want to stretch your legs a bit(and if it’s not too hot), by all means, dine outside. There’s a nice selection of craft beers and a small, specialized menu focused on burgers, sandwiches, and salads. One notable standout is the selection of macaroni and cheese. They have about seven different variations, including mushroom truffle, buffalo blue, BBQ pork, and crab. One very pleasant surprise was the side of kimchi! How often do you see this on the menu outside of Chinatown? It’s a great substitute for a salad.

I was meeting a friend in the neighborhood, and we settled on this pace due to the outdoor seating and convenient location. While I waited for my friend to arrive, I perused my fellow Unilocalers’ reviews and began to get very nervous — recently it looks like more bad than good. Thankfully, this set me up with low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised in the end. On a Wednesday night(with no show at Union Transfer), this place was nearly empty. We were seated at a table with no umbrella, and but were able to move to one with an umbrella when there was a bit of rain. The staff was overly attentive at first, asking what we wanted when we clearly weren’t ready. In a bizarre twist, the server announced that they didn’t have any french fried or mac and cheese, which seems to be their claim to fame. We were settled on salads anyway, so not a big deal. However, also bizarre, the waitress wore a crop-top and low-waisted skirt. I know they are in right now, and I may be a bit old fashioned, but I don’t really want your navel near my food. We both ordered the beet salad, which came with many, HUGE slices of beet. My favorite part was the pistachio-crusted goat cheese, which was small, but yummy. Our salads were moderately priced, $ 9 each, which was fine, but we had quite a bit of difficulty in requesting the check. When we finally got it, they were prompt in processing our cards.
