I came to LT International as a client, not a student. Over the years I’ve found that beauty school students can massively out-perform their more experienced counterparts. Plus, spa day for a fraction of the cost? Yes, please. When I Googled LT, I had some reservations. The area looked run-down. Figured I’d give them a shot, and worst case scenario, I’d end up on antibiotics. Arriving, I was pleasantly surprised. The salon is clean and new looking, and the students and teachers were all very friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for a spa ambiance, this place isn’t for you. The interior looks a bit like a Supercuts, with a noise level similar to most nail salons. I had a basic facial($ 12), microdermabrasion for stretch marks($ 50), a spa pedicure($ 15), and an eyebrow tint($ 10) — along with a free hand massage. Everything was stellar. The facial included hot towels, cleansing, exfoliation, and I think 2 masks(had my eyes closed). The cuticle work and exfoliation during the pedicure were perfect, and they got my eyebrow color dead on. It’s a little early to tell, but my stretch marks already appear a bit lighter, and the skin there is way smoother and softer. I’ll definitely be going back. (Full disclosure: during the microderm, I did have a crowd of 5 – 6 girls watching, so they could learn how to perform it on areas other than the face. Since most places charge $ 100+ for the same service, a little audience didn’t faze me!) What’s more, I read on their website that they were open till 5pm. Apparently that’s only the school, not the salon, which closes at 3:30. I showed up at 3pm, and they were still happy to stay open later to accommodate me. Totally recommend LT’s student salon!
