Came here for lunch during the week with some co-workers. We had a party of 6 and when we walked in were asked if we wanted a table or if we wanted to sit at the bar. I think they wanted us to sit at the bar, but we wanted a table. I found it hard to believe they did not have a table for 6, or something they could set up for 6 that was more«comfortable». It was 2 small tables that did not even match put together in the back corner. Very awkward. Besides that the food was good and the service was friendly. Prices were in the 10 – 12 dollar range for what each of us ordered. Everyone had burgers or sandwiches, except me and I had chicken fingers with waffle fries. A bit heavy on the crispy breading but honey mustard works wonders. I could only finish half of them and asked for a take home box. Our server also gave me a soda for the road.

Had a great experience here on Friday, June 10th. We got hungry during the 4th inning of the Phillies-Miami game, and headed over to McFadden’s for a bite. I ordered the Mediterranean wrap, and missed the fact that it had chicken(I gave up meat a few years ago). When the server saw the look on my face when it arrived, he immediately knew something was wrong! Because it was my mistake, I was happy to pay for a second dish, but he whisked the wrap away and was back in less than 10 minutes with a meat free version at no extra charge! It was a kind, service driven gesture that I was not at all expecting.

I ordered the McFaddens burger. I asked for medium well and it was burnt(even the cheese). Didn’t like that you have to pay extra for cheese and bacon. I would not recommend eating here unless you are just going for drinks.

Only go here if there’s a ballgame or late weekend night. Sub par food, expensive drinks, no parking.

I really enjoyed this place. A great spot to hit up before(as we did) or after a game. It’s in prime location being walking distance from any of the 3 major stadiums here. My buddy and I were here for some drinks and food before the final 76ers game of the season. We grabbed a few Guinness and started with the Almost Famous Boneless Wings as we waited for our sandwiches. Those wings in themselves are a meal. Definite large portions here for anything you order. For the mains, he got the cheese steak and I got the sausage. It’s bar food, so nothing too crazy here, but very substantial and good. Waitress was super cool as well. She chatted us up and confirmed some of things we were planning to do the next day as damn good things to do for us travelers. But, this place added to the experience of It all as well.

Went here after we walked in the alzheimers walk. The food was good. I don’t care for waffles fries that much but there wasn’t any other option. I got the fish and chips and that came w waffle fries. It was good. Kids got cheesesteaks and chicken fingers. Can’t really mess those up. Burgers seemed good and there was pulled pork being eaten too. All seemed to enjoy their food. Staff was friendly and moved tables together to accommodate our large party.

I’m going to comment on the restaurant aspect of this place. Went there off peak on a Saturday afternoon when the phillies were not in town. I’m sure reviews vary based on peak and non peak times. We were the only ones in the place so service was good and the food came quick. The food was very affordably prices for the ample portions you receive. Crab cake sandwich was good as were the chicken cheesesteak fries which were enormous. You could split those between two people and call it a meal. Had the cheesesteak nachos before and they were a bit bare with only onions, wiz and steak meat on them. The chips themselves were not quality but very generic.

Went to dinner before a concert. Typical bar food, but service was excellent. Had the chicken finger salad. Made with a spring salad mix — might have been better with romaine or even iceberg. But service saved the night. Waitress was attentive and checked to make sure that son’s order was as he asked. Good restaurant for location /events.

Truly the best music venue in Philadelphia. Do you enjoy slightly off-key covers of Dave Matthews Band or Sublime played by two old drunks in cargo shorts? Who the hell doesn’t? I like to slam three or four cans of domestos before rollin’ in here. Throw down some cash and yell«I am bro king, serve me like the wannabe frat boy I am.» And, my friend, boy do they serve me. One time, I drank three tequila sunrises here and woke up with a new tattoo that says«Let’s party.» But, the fun part was that I woke up months later with little to no personal injury. They don’t get too mad if you bring in your own snacks, and they have a bathroom attendant that will hook you up with some rock. It’s kind of the perfect party situation, and its chock full of tasty babes. If you can’t handle the stoked flames of Party Town, you might want to grab yourself a 24 oz cup of «go the hell home» because this is not amateur turf. I recommend the Buttchug Tower, the Blackberry Blackout Blizzard and the ‘Gin & Tonic’(special recipe, dawg). This place is a classic hangout, and you might even get to catch a fly ball if you get belligerently sauced and fight a ticket-checking dude. Dreams y’all. Gotta have ‘em.

The beer is cheaper then inside the ballpark. That’s about all it has going for it. Before Phillies games, it’s absurdly loud, the other day a friend literally walked right past me and couldn’t hear me calling her name. I opted not to physically get her attention, given the bro-tastic vibe. Prior to xfinity live opening, it was pretty much the only food option within winter walking distance of a Flyers game. We made that mistake once, the food was mediocre greasy sportsbar food, and from then on we just ate separately before meeting people at the stadium. If you arrive early before the game, you’re better off across the street. The only reason to be there is if you want to be close to the gate to hand off tickets.

We went down to Phillies home opener. Around 3rd inning stopped by Mc Faddens, the food was typical bar food, so expectations were low. Today, they managed to slide in under the already low bar. Food came to us unbelievably quickly. And COLD… Only reason I gave 2 stars is because beer was cheaper than ballpark beer. Otherwise, horrible food.

We went down in the evening when the only sporting event was the Sixers game. The bar was dead except for the 30 friends that went to celebrate my boy’s Birthday! It was awesome we had the whole bar to ourselves. We didn’t have to wait long at all for a drink and for the city the prices were right. It was so nice not to be bumped into as others tried to get to the restroom or the bar. I would highly recommend going here if you want a chill night in the city when there are no sports going on. Bar is clean and has plenty of TV’s to watch other sporting events Now when the Phillies are playing thus is a whole other story. I have been a a season ticket holder to CBP for 10 years now and I can count how many times i have been in here on one hand. It’s just not my scene anymore. I would rather drink in the lot before the game with my own beers. But hey that’s just me. Fellow Unilocalers have told me it’s a great spot to tailgate before an Eagles game with great drink specials. I hope to experience that next year. Ate here once and the food was your typical bar food when i was tired of the usual stadium offerings. I am pretty sure i stopped in during a long rain delay.

I’ve been to McFadden’s about a dozen times now, and overall I’ve been mostly satisfied each time. Usually there’s little wait time and pretty fast service. Compared to prices inside the stadium for food, McFadden’s is pretty reasonable. The food isn’t bad, most resemble ballpark snacks you could pick up in the stadium, although certain entrees just had a funny taste to them. Their hotdogs are a bit overcooked, their fries are tasty but have an odd seasoning, and their pizza fries have made me throw up on more than one occasion. Still not a bad place for a quick meal before the game though!

McFadden’s for a pre or post sporting event is fun times. The drinks are definitely over priced but still cheaper than the stadiums. They usually have a fun DJ that plays music when they aren’t broadcasting a game over the loud speakers. The outdoor space is great, as long as you aren’t surrounded by a ton of smokers(though your chances of that are pretty slim considering that is where smokers like to hang out.) I am giving McFadden’s 3 stars because the atmosphere is great(4 – 5 stars) but the food definitely leaves a lot to be desired(2 stars.) Typical bar food, I guess that’s all you need to get drunk people to spend money.

Thank you XFINITY Live and NBC Sports Arena for suggesting I watch a hockey game at McFaddens instead of paying a ridiculous $ 20 cover charge to get in! Fish, the bartender, was happy and friendly as were the patrons also there to watch hockey and party all night. I wish I was in Philly for more than a couple of days so I could have returned and watched more hockey there. Great bar, great atmosphere, great people. Thanks for putting on the Kings game!

Stopped in today with three of my coworkers for lunch. I ordered a Mcfadden Burger with Cheese. I started eating here back in 2005 when I started working in the area. The burger was not bad, but the quality is definetly going down hill. Our server Emily was cool and friendly. We handed her three credit cardss and asked her to put half on one and split the difference on the other two. We were kind of a pain, but she just smiled and brought the cards back with each corresponding slip underneath and three pens. Usually you will get one pen to share and a muddle of paper mess. The food may be average here, but the service operates above. I also want to thank the bartender server Andrea for saving me from getting a parking ticket back in December.

As skeevy as chain restaurants can be, this place is convenient for a bite to eat and beer before the game and the 15 – 25 minute waits for a dining table go by pretty fast. While you are waiting for your table, take a moment to observe the groups of people walking in around you: Burly men in Phil’s gear, old ladies with visors and canes, teenage and young twenty somethings with barely there shorts, overly flat-ironed hair and too much eyeliner(and thirty and forty year old women attempting the same), young couples with tow head kiddies, large packs of thirty-something dudes who were all high school best friends and the occasional drag queen looking woman decked out in heels and sparkle face powder… yes, they will be joining you for a bite to eat and all heading to the game. The menu is standard pub grub with limited healthy options, but let’s be honest: no one is here for fine, healthy dining. The mozz sticks are actually triangles, which are alright but not as satisfying IMO. I went out on a limb and ordered the crab cake sandwich. Not bad at all, minus the overload of red onion I took off. And the aioli it comes with made it’s way on both my sandwich and fries. Speaking of fries, waffle fries come standard and«Philly» flat fries, salad, etc are more. My man had this buffalo chicken blue cheese sandwich, which came oversized with two really big pieces of chicken cutlet dipped in wing sauce. If you like chicken fingers and wings, you will like this. I almost ordered the cheesesteak nachos but opted to not entirely hate myself afterwards.(Although my friend insisted they were real good.) Overpriced bc of the ballpark, «meh» ambiance, but they get you in and out so quickly you you dont have time to get skeeved thinking about the sheer number of people they are pumping out fried food to every game day.

Sardine-like packing of patrons with a high noise level. Draft beers are around $ 5. I probably would have given an extra star if the Phillies gave me something to cheer about. Sports bars are great if your team is winning, or at least competitive. Unfortunately the converse is true; if your team can’t hit water if they fell out of a boat you might as well be in a funeral home.

Here’s all you need to know about this place. I come here on game nights occasionallly because it’s right there. The food is OK. The beer is plentiful. The atmosphere on game day can be fun to look at. Would I ever come here on an off night when a game isn’t going on? Never. That’s all you need to know.

I will preface this with saying I went to a free open bar event here; your results may vary. :) Got here slightly before 9(when it started) and waited in a short line(which moved fairly quickly). You gave your name(had to RSVP ahead of time), were checked off, and given a colored wristband for your free drinks. The female bartender in particular was a stickler about only one drink per person(if you wanted 2, you had to order, go away, and come back for the second); the guy was a lot more accommodating since he realized that my date was snagging both of our drinks while I hung out at our table. Since we got there early, we managed to snag a table in view of the stage where they had a newbie band«the Interns» perform some cover songs for about ½ an hour. The band had some old time faves, but the vocals just didn’t do them justice(«Hey Jealousy», «Use Your Love», and a Lady Gaga mix of «Bad Romance» and«Poker Face») The DJ music was pretty good though, if you like pop/R&B dance-type music. There were some sloppy people there, which I guess goes without saying at an open bar. The one girl spilled her beer all over my dates jeans and all over the floor around our table. The busboy was quick to clean it up though, even giving me a towel to step across the puddle to leave the table! This is when we decided to call it a night and make our exit. It seems like an awesome place to watch a game(they have numerous tvs on every wall) and a pretty chill atmosphere. I’d be down with coming here again in the future!
