I had found milk+ sugar thru Unilocal.I had contacted Brittany to order my daughter’s 1st birthday cake. Brittany was very responsive to my crazy questions. And I had a lot of questions. I eventually decided on a simple two tiered cake. They did a phenomenal job on replicating what I wanted the cake to look like. Delivery was included with the cake ordered. Everyone at the party was raving about how delicious the cake tasted. It was so moist and flavorful. Brittany had allowed me to pick two flavors for the cake. It was so hard to decide on the flavors due to so many options I wanted to try. I had eventually selected Salted Caramel chocolate and strawberry shortcake. Both flavors were awesome. Many people at the party had asked me for milk+sugar’s information for their future parties/celebrations. I cannot wait to order from milk+sugar again for all my events. It was definitely a great experience.

Milk + Sugar catered the desserts for our wedding in Fairmount Park and were amazing from start to finish. This is a small, family-owned business that makes INCREDIBLE cupcakes, and I would work with them again in a heartbeat. Since we were planning our wedding from out of town, we relied heavily on reviews and our intrepid relatives, who undertook the onerous task of tasting cupcakes from many different trucks and establishments. After trying half a dozen places, our relatives finally did a tasting with Milk + Sugar and were blown away by the flavor and texture of the cupcakes. We settled on the Thin Mint, Chocolate with Salted Caramel, Vanilla Bean, Carrot Cake, and Maple Bacon flavors, though because the cupcakes were iced on-site, guests could theoretically mix and match. Dozens of people told me they were the best cupcakes they’d ever tasted, and, upon tasting them for the first time on the day of our wedding, we couldn’t agree more.

Can I saw, oh lawd hold my mule whilst I shout! This place right here had me in a comatose state. I mean the kitchen sink cookie was so good it made me angry. I had mines to go at Mt airy street fare so I ate it at home but had i ate this in the spot I would’ve, crawled through their truck window to smack the bakers(cuz it’s smack yo mamma good) and asked for a detailed written recipe. Not that I’m that ambitious at baking but just to ensure there is no addictive properties in this. As now I am officially turned out, I should probably go stalk my pusher for my next fix. Catch there next locale on the twitter.

I’ve tried the blue velvet cupcake and the lemon pound cake. The blue velvet cupcake was moist and covered in a delicious white icing. The lemon pound cake was a thick slice of lemon flavored awesomeness. I was happy with both and look forward to trying more of their treats! If you see their truck don’t hesitate to give them a try. Since my initial review above I’d had a chance to try their red velvet cupcake and some of their cookies. They continue to impress, and have me smiling as soon as I see them on the Love Park schedule. I’m upping them to 5 stars!

OMG! The lemon pound cake is a-freaking-mazing! The favor is straight out of my childhood. Had me crying in car because the memories came flooding. This cake needs nothing else. Lightly sprinkled with powered sugar with a crispy top. Not a heavy cake, not right! If you ever ate cake with fried chicken, this one is a great pairing!

hate to write this review having had such great experiences in the past but here i go… today after waiting in line for 30 mins for what i have come to believe are the best blue velvet cupcakes in town, i must write recipe is inconsistent. today’s cupcakes were undercooked, lacking in moisture and flavor, airy, with crispy edges almost like a cookie, and the frosting was overwhelming sweet and excessive in my opinion to conceal the sinking the center. it was in effective and quite frankly, disgusting.

I am a fellow food trucker owner, so when we serve at events, I get to try a lot of great food. Last night was one of those nights. I had both the banana pudding and the pound cake. Excellent. The banana pudding was the best I’ve ever had. It was light and creamy and had a good balance of vanilla wafer to pudding. And that poundcake. I’m glad my grandma doesn’t get on the internet because I can freely say that you have outdone hers. Truly wonderful treats, ladies! You are now favorite sweet food truck out there.

Not just your now commonplace cupcake truck here. In fact, their cupcake offerings are my least favorite of the sweets sold out of this charming blue bakeshop on wheels. Owned and operated by a mother & daughter duo, they land in front of my work every Friday afternoon. And we peer out the windows after lunch once a week to see if they have opened for business yet. They have a really nice assortment of goodies for sale, considering they bake everything fresh every day. Usually there are about 4 different types of cupcakes($ 3), 2 – 3 cookies($ 2), 1 – 2 types of loaded brownies($ 3) and my absolute personal favorite: the poundcake! Deliciously moist poundcake slices of either the lemon or coconut variety for only $ 2. So good & such a deal for a simple and satisfying afternoon treat. They post their schedule on twitter. I think they have a pretty regular rotation of spots from Temple to South Philly to Northern Liberties. They also take cards, which is so great. I love how easy it is for vendors to be mobile and convenient these days.

Well, call me Leann Rimes eating my BLUE velvet cupcake! My coworkers decided to pay a visit to the Milk + Sugar Cupcake truck at 3rd and Spring Garden so I requested for a red velvet cupcake because who doesn’t want a cupcake on a Friday afternoon? Well, they bring it back and I thought it was a chocolate cupcake but I was informed that it’s a blue velvet cupcake to go with their blue truck color scheme… clever advertisement scheme! Within minutes I dug right in, the cheesecake frosting on top was sweat but not too sweat(amazing), the top layer of the cupcake had that firm, in a good way texture but the inside was moist and divine. Overall, I loved it and I look forward to trying out different flavors because as you can tell from my past Unilocal I love Cupcakes.

I went by their food truck today on South Street — and had an amazing strawberry cheesecake chocolate cupcake — and it was AMAZING. I have an oreo cupcake also at home — and I can’t wait to eat it! I’ll probably swallow it down pretty fast. Can’t wait! These ladies are REALLY good at what they do!
