The Murphy Recreation Center is located within the once Greenwich Playground. There is a grass field and nets for soccer, baseball, and various other team sports. The swimming pool is impressive and the other indoor sports can be played during the Winter.
The outdoor park is underused for the wide and clean space that it is. It is available to the public at most times except when games are playing.
I’ve seen people jog and walk/​train their dogs here. This place is a huge and has everything to accommodate any child or adult. It runs from Shunk to Oregon Ave. It’s the best park in South Philly by far.

Today was my first Philadelphia public pool experience and I was pleasantly surprised! The pool and deck were very clean and well maintained. The pool was rather large. Even though there were a lot of children, I still had a great time. The deep end was relatively empty so I didn’t feel overrun by children. The Lifeguards were very friendly. One told me this pool will be open until mid-​August. They do an adult only swim every day from 5−6pm. There is also a large basketball court, a couple of baseball diamonds, and play equipment.
