Ochatto

Hand-​drawn noodle soups here are really amazing. The herbs in the soup are delicioussss. I tried the duck noodle soup and Japanese roasted pork noodle soup — both were amazing. I think the duck is just a bit better, since at that time when I had it, I thought the noodles tasted really fresh (which is really unusual for me, since I think noodles is just noodles, but I really noticed the taste of the noodles that time). The second time, when I had the pork noodle soup, I thought the noodles were good, but they didn’t taste as fresh and were softer, so maybe this time, I just happened to get less-​fresh noodles…
Bowls are huge, though they could use a bit more noodles :) The atmosphere is really nice: Asian-​like but also modern chic. I see a lot of Asians here, so the place is definitely up to many Asians’ level lol.

I came here for lunch with a group yesterday, and was sorely disappointed.
After getting seated at a too-​small table, we each ordered lunch specials (salmon teriyaki for me, sushi for others). The food was forgettable and the portions were small, but the service was the worst part. Our waiter brought me the the wrong dish, forgot to bring napkins and utensils, and spilled teriyaki sauce all over our table and never cleaned it up. He was completely reactive — rather than checking in on us proactively, he waited until we’d flag him down, and seemed visibly annoyed that we were taking up his time.
When our bill arrived, we decided to leave a ~10% tip, since this reflected the quality of our experience. When our waiter saw this, he became incredibly argumentative and unprofessional — he said he felt had had done a good job and that we shouldn’t have made so many requests of him. And then he asked for a bigger tip!!!
I’ve waitressed before, so I know it’s no fun to get a bad tip. But the point of tipping is that it’s an *optional* way to reward good service. Irrespective of that, it’s completely unacceptable for a restaurant employee to harass customers in the way this waiter did. Clearly, we won’t be back.

Ordered delivery on Seamless. Food arrived 40 minutes after the Seamless estimate time, which was also 40 minutes after Seamless texted me saying the food is on the way and will be there shortly (I’m only a half mile from the restaurant). Food arrived sadly very cold — I know it’s a cold day but the driver had a car (I.e. Not a bicycle delivery guy in which case one might understand the food getting cold). They also messed up one of the 4 items we ordered.
That said, the food was pretty good once we microwaved it at home to be hot again. I was surprised how good microwaved tempura tasted. And the delivery driver was a nice guy.

I had the Thai iced tea with bubbles — easily the worst Thai tea I’ve ever had. It didn’t taste like Thai tea at all and seemed like it was watered down a lot. My friend and I also shared three rolls (avocado eel roll, spicy tuna roll, and spider roll) which were decent. However, the waiter threw major shade at us when we said we’d just be sharing the three rolls, probably due to the fact that they have a 3 rolls for $ 14 deal at dinner. He insisted the deal was for one person (even though there were no details or exceptions to the deal written on the menu), and although he didn’t stop us from sharing, I thought this was rude. Neither of us would’ve been able to eat all three rolls on our own and I don’t understand why we can’t choose to eat what we order however we want. If they don’t want us to do that then take the deal off the menu.

Fantastic Japanese food in University City. How I wish this place was right next door to me. Loved the calamari with mango sauce, vegetable sautéed udon, delish sushi. I appreciated that I could get a bubble tea and could select the sugar level I wanted, as I don’t like sweet drinks. Everything was so tasty!

I just came in here for a bubble tea trip with a coworker. We both got a Jasmine bubble tea (I only ended up getting one because of the $ 5 card minimum). The tea itself was pretty good! We asked for 30% sugar but pretty sure they gave us 70% because it was VERY sweet.
I would absolutely come back here to try the food. The place is huge with lots of seating, and their menu looks pretty extensive.
Surprisingly it’s very difficult to find bubble tea in University City, so it’s a good place for that!

Hands down my FAVORITE hand-​pulled noodle place in Philly. I am a huge hand-​pulled noodles fan and I recently discovered Ochatto– it’s the closest to the authentic noodles I had in China. The service was amazing; They remember what I order every time and know my special requirements (I’m a little picky on my noodles). The interior design is modern and comforting– Way to go Next Generation Asian Restaurants!

My traditional lunch spot, when I have no idea what I want for lunch. Good price for lunch special offer: two rolls with salad or soup only for $ 9! I think it’s good deal. Very attentive staff! Going there since they open. Almost one a month, I like it but there is a room for improves. Yes, I agree they need to work on cleanness in the restaurant and fresh veggies in the salad if you do take out… But overall please keep up with good job!

I am a Drexel student and just found out about this restaurant a few weeks ago and have been coming multiple times a week since. This restaurant is absolutely amazing! Their food is fresh and made with love. The head chef is from another country so he brings over an absolutely unique chili oil that I can’t get enough of. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend. Come try it out now!

Yummy! I Ordered the chicken habachi dinner and it was really good. It was a very generous portion and it seems like I got full after only a few bites. The dinner also came with a big cup of rice and 2 dipping sauces. The only thing I did not like was how thickly some of the vegetables where cut. I mean, they where really chunky, all I could think was chocking hazard, eat slowly. Order also came at a reasonable time. I can’t thank them enough for delivering in my area where it’s so hard to find anything besides, pizza, chicken, burgers and other classic Americana foods. I washed all of it down with Passion Fruit Tea. Very nice. I will definitley be ordering from them again.

I love it here! So great! The atmosphere was awesome and the place was so fancy. I’ll definitely be back. They have really good sushi and noodle soup. Although they were busy during the diner time, all the servers make sure you were taken care of. I highly recommend it!

I’ve been here quite a few times. It is a must go-​to restaurant in University City. They have a big menu that’s worthy to dig into. Hand drawn noodle is what most people get like I did in my first few times came here. Then I found out the big variety of sushi special.
For example, I love the Mango Hawaii sushi, Dragon roll, salmon skin hand roll and soft shell crab hand roll!!! I always wanted to get all of them as well as the noodle soup. But that will be tooo much money spend on one meal.
Anyway, as a college student, when I go out and eat with friends, we always came to Ochatto. It’s convenient, and the food come out fast at an affordable price.
Well I’m graduating after this term, I’ll be missing the good time I had with my friends in Ochatto (Chattime), and the waiters and waitresses that I’ve been fiend with.

This is our «go to» restaurant in University City. Formerly it was called Chattime. Not much changed from what I can tell now that they are called Ochatto.
They have excellent bubble tea, excellent tempura, great sushi and really good hand pulled noodles. Generally I’m a bit skeptical of restaurants that try to do too much, but Ochatto pulls it off. They do many things very well.
I love the 2 roll lunch special with salad for $ 9. There is also a dinner option for 3 rolls for $ 14 that comes with soup and salad. The bento boxes are also quite good and if your not in the mood for Japanese, their noodle soups also hit the spot. I recommend the spare rib noodle soup.
As for the bubble teas, I don’t venture far from the black milk tea. Definitely be warned, if you order one of their drinks with full sugar, it is WAY too sweet. I generally order it with 25% and sometimes that is even a bit too sweet for my liking.
The staff is always nice. The ambiance is much nicer that one would expect judging from the outside of the restaurant. The restaurant is also quite a bit bigger than the store front would lead you to believe.
If dining in University City Ochatto is an excellent option.

I’ve come to this venue several times before when it was operating under the name «Chattime». The menu, décor, and wait staff are all the same as far as I could tell. During our latest visit, my companion ordered Udon noodles with marinated egg add-​on while I went with the hand drawn noodle soup with the spicy soup base. This was because I had previously ordered the regular version but always found myself adding the red chili flake sauce that can be found on the table to amp up the heat. The portion size for the noodle soups is quite large. The only disappointment from this last trip was that when we wanted to order bubble tea at the end of the meal, they informed us they could still make the tea, but that they were out of bubbles. Well, can’t have bubble tea without tapioca!

Came here twice now. The food is great for the relatively low price. Their rice rolls are made very well, presented well, and taste bomb! My personal favorite is the Godzilla Roll. I’d recommend either getting their rolls, or their hand-​pulled/​shaved noodle soups (seafood, beef brisket, or pork are all good). I prefer the latter over the former. The serving size for the noodle soups are great for the price. Their hand-​drawn noodles are better than their shaved/​cut noodles though (Nanzhou in Chinatown has delicious shaved noodles which is a special type of noodle made by shaving/​cutting rather than pulling.) At the counter there’s a professional noodlemaker making the handpulled noodles and you’ll be able to see him make them from time to time (so you know the noodles are fresh). The interior décor is pretty nice as well. A lot of local students and their families come here to eat. I haven’t tried their array of bubble tea drinks yet, but I heard they were also good.

I am not sure why they changed the name (Chattime), but everything is exactly the same. The beef noodles here are pretty decent, you get what you pay for. This time, a friend and I got the love boat ($ 48 for like the equivalent of miso soup, salad, 2 rolls, and a bamboo ship stocked with sashimi. Not a fan of the way they cut their sashimi, it’s too thick. Also, there were two or three scales still attached to some of the salmon sashimi. Ochatto is okay. If you need a boba fix this is your place when you’re next to campus. Other than that, nothing here is that special.
