Pampered Pooch

I’ve been bringing my pup to Nick for almost 2 years and he always looks amazing when I pick him up. The shop is very clean and I’ve always found Nick to be professional and polite. Most importantly, Nick is good with my anxious dog. My dog has hair, not fur, and so it tends to get tangled and tough to deal with right before he comes in. So, Nick has his hands full with an anxious pup and a tangled mane but he is quick, and my little guy always looks awesome. Thanks Nick!

under new ownership. professional, clean, consistent. i like the boutique ‘one pup at a time’ grooming they do here. I find it puts the pups at ease & makes for a customized experience not found at other shops.

Dog lovers beware! Nick may groom dogs wonderfully, but there is no way I would ever take my dog to get groomed by someone so rude and inconsiderate. Call for yourself and you’ll find out real quick just how rude he is. Prior to Nick joining Pampered Pooch, I took my pomeranian there for 3 years. After calling for weeks and getting no response, I heard from others at the dog park that Mimi, who had been grooming my dog at PP, was no longer there. So now, I take my business elsewhere, to Mimi at Bow Wow & Meows, the best of the best.

I took my puppy for his first grooming here and I was unhappy for two reasons.
1) I did not like the cut they gave around the face, he had an adorable cut beforehand and we just wanted a trim; when we came back his whole snout was shaved with a large amount of hair on top of the head, that looked like a mushroom top
2) I thought the groomer was rude. Apparently my 4 month old puppy was not used to all the grooming techniques. Instead of telling me what to do next time – like play with his paws more and try to file his nails– he made comments such as «have you done ANY training with your puppy? You know this breed is not supposed to be for first time dog owners!»
So in summary, I thought the hair cut was bad and instead of being helpful with a new puppy was actually just rude and standoffish.
I will not be bringing my new puppy back there.
And, I am not a new dog owner, this is my 5^th dog and while i’m new to Philly, I am not new to how grooming should go.

Best groomer in the city for our dog. Very nice. Very clean. Pricing is exactly what we have always paid before so no surprise when it came time to check out. Glad to finally have a reliable groomer who cares about our dog. Highly recommended.

BEST GROOMER IN PHILLY.
I’ve tried everyone in this city, but no service compares to what my pomeranian receives at Pampered Pooch. I have always felt awful leaving my puppy at a groomer for the afternoon, especially when I hear other dogs yipping and barking from the back room (the grooming waiting room). My biggest nightmare is leaving her with a groomer who sticks my small & shy little pup in a kennel until it’s her turn to be groomed, or who sticks her in a play-​pen with a bunch of bigger rowdy dogs waiting to be picked up or groomed. This is NOT the case at Pampered Pooch. Thankfully! :) As soon as you walk in the salon, you feel at ease. This is a one-​pup-​at-​a-​time kind of groomer. (which might be why it’s sometimes hard to get on their schedule!) There is french café music playing in the background, and one delightful groomer to coddle your beloved pup while trimming, clipping, and primping your pooch to perfection.
This truly is the best groomer in the city. Hands down.
I am forever a fan! (oh and it was $ 59 for a full-​service appointment. nice!)

The only thing I can ding this place for is that their hours (and scheduling procedures) seem kind of erratic. Once you actually get someone on the phone, everything is smooth sailing when it comes to getting your dog beautified at the Pampered Pooch.

On multiple occasions we have gawked at a pink dog in here. It’s awesome.

I finally got in touch with the owner of The Pampered Pooch and she was very apologetic for what happened. She had no idea that my dog’s ear was cut. The person who groomed my dog was new and it was her first day. The owner also said that she normally does tell the dog’s owner right away if anything happens. I feel better and will probably take my dog back to The Pampered Pooch, but I will request a different groomer. :)

Phil was fantastic with my dog. She felt very comfortable with him. His prices are very reasonable and she looks and smells fantastic! We will definatly be back!

Pampered Pooch was fantastic! I brought my cat in for a lion’s cut, which he desperately needed due to some mats on his chest and hind legs that I just couldn’t get out. An hour later, kitty was all shaved and clean and smelling nice! I was very excited to find a groomer that will actually take a cat, and I was even more excited to see the gentle way she interacted and responded to my cat. Plus the store is 2 blocks from my house, so this really can’t be beat. My total was $ 65 plus tax and tip for a nail trim, bath, and cut. I’m not sure what other groomers would have charged, but considering how bad a couple of his mats were, I think the price was reasonable.

I’ve taken my golden retriever twice now to the Pampered Pooch and they have done a great job each time. They groom him exactly the way I want and he always leaves looking very handsome!

I brought my Pom in for a bath. Pampered Pooch did a fantastic job. They managed to get all the knots out. I am very happy to have found a groomer that I am very happy with. The staff are friendly and professional. Job well done!

Wow, I can’t believe no one has reviewed Pampered Pooch yet… Well, they certainly keep a low profile. It’s a pretty small shop. Nonetheless, I was still able to make last-​minute appointments for two foster dogs who came home from the shelter with an overload of unshed dog tufts and that greasy «stray dog smell.» Pampered Pooch did a fantastic job with my doggies’ extreme makeovers. The prices are very reasonable, with a basic shampoo, brush, and nail trim around $ 10 below the competition. The groomer I met (I think there are one or two others, but both times it was the same guy) was very polite. And it was heavenly to finally be able to cuddle up to my foster doggies without having to scrub my hands afterward.
