Pappy’s Pizza

Ordered a small Cheesesteak special — half a sandwich with fries for $ 5. Gentleman on the phone was very courteous taking my order and just as pleasant in person as was the cook. My food was delicious too. Cheesesteak was great. Will order again. Glad they’re back.

Uhhh never again! Pappy’s is starting to nickel and dime you for everything and the food isn’t that good. I go to Pappy’s when I want food that is faster than delivery since I can walk there. I am not a big fan of their pizza (too much tomato sauce — IMO), and the rest of their food is blah… They charge you if you want a box to put your slices in, so if you get more slices than can fit in a bag, you must pay. I will eat there, but never again.
For one I ordered a hoagie and was told it was $ 7 and some change, so cool, no cheaper than the place I was going to order from, but I was able to skip the delivery fee. Once I got there and added a soda to go with my hoagie, I was told my order was $ 9.83. I gave the cashier my credit card, she swiped it and something told me look at my receipt, something I NEVER do, I was charged an extra dollar with no explanation, no warning no nothing! The cashier swiped my card, gave me a receipt, asked me to sign the other and completely walked away! I had to pretty much say Hello really loudly for someone to come back and help me. The cashier returned and I asked her why did she tell me my total was one thing and I was charged another. She said oh, we charge you for using your credit card. There are NO signs indicating this, so I felt ripped off. Even more so because she should have just said my total was $ 10.83 instead of $ 9.83. I use my card all the time and this has NEVER EVER happened to me. I told her I didn’t want the food because I am not going to pay to use my credit card. She stomped away to get a manager and someone else came up and refunded me my dollar with no questions asked, even though that made me feel even more ripped off.
I was hungry so I took it and left, but I double checked my statement when I got home and vowed to NEVER go here again, remember the food is not even that good. Once i got home, my hoagie was thrown together! The lettuce was browning and had a funny taste. The turkey was just thrown on top of everything. I had to remake the hoagie again. i was soo disappointed and made at myself for not going with my first choice!
As someone who does online business myself, I never pass the credit cards fees to the buyer, and as a shopper where stores do this, there is a sign to let me know what I am getting into. But, I promise I won’t ever go to Pappy’s again. Stoagies up the street has much better food.

Ordered delivery which was exceptionally slow. The order was incomplete. I spent over $ 40 only to have my salad not be delivered at all. I called the manager and he acted like there was nothing he could do. Not very satisfied at all with the service. PS the spaghetti was good. Do not order delivery service from Pappys Pizza.

Late the other night my bf and I were looking for delivery. We hadn’t had much luck with some of the places near us in philly and decided to try something new. We called a few places but they were so rude and wouldn’t give us just a few slices of pizza??? We didn’t want a whole pie with fries and what not. Craving pizza, fries, and milkshakes we decided to give one last place a shot (before we settled on dominos) and called Pappy’s. The service here is amazing. Honestly. I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to better customer service ever. So nice and so on point with everything. I wanted a vanilla milkshake and the guy read off of the other milkshakes they had just in case I wanted a more flavorful one. They’re so good on the phone. I have to go in person when I get the chance. The delivery was quick and everything was write when we got our food. The deliverer was personable and not crabby for someone delivering after midnight on a Wednesday night. We liked our food so much we ordered again the next night (perfection once again). Highly recommend for late night good or anytime food really. Glad to have a place we can count on now!

I’d recommend Pappy’s! They have a wide variety of food in addition to reasonable prices and large portions. I had the opportunity to speak with the owner after one of my orders and its clear that he takes great pride in his food and ensuring that his customers have a great dining experience. Give Pappy’s a try — you won’t regret it!

I don’t expect much from a takeout place. You want food that’s OK and is mostly correct when it arrives to you. I’ve come to expect mediocrity from my regular takeout places – Evan’s, Aladdin’s, Shaban’s, Wise Guys, etc – and I’m at peace with that.
So imagine my surprise when I get a sandwich from Pappy’s that is not only NOT made with sad, mushy bread, but looks like I just ordered it at a classy sit-​down restaurant. The bread is thick and toasted? The bacon isn’t limp and depressing? The milkshake tastes good. .. really good! The pizza is perfect. And to top it all off, if something in your order happens to be wrong don’t be surprised if the owner personally drives the correct food over to your place.
I’m not one to rave about takeout places. But this one really sets the bar high for the rest of West Philly.
