Pearle Vision

The staff is the most unprofessional group of healthcare professionals I have ever experienced. First, stop talking poorly about customers in front of other customers. Just rude. I was explaining to one of the ladies what I needed. Out of no where I feel the empty box of contacts I was holding being taken out of my hand. I look to my right and it was another rep. I am not going to say she snatched it but the motion was abrupt. Keep in mind, she never said a word to me. Took the box, gave the rep I was originally speaking to instructions and went about her business. Although I told them my name, they kept referring to me as her and she. Unbelievable… Today I switched to another Pearle Vision. I could already tell the difference because the receptionist kept addressing me by my name.

All the women working there were rude and couldn’t care less about helping anyone or even display basic customer service skills. They messed up my contacts prescription and we’re still rude to me when I asked if they could rush the second order to fix their mistake. The first order came way later than the 7 – 10 days they claimed. I also had to call them to see if it was in no one ever called me then they claimed «if just came in» yeah right. TERRIBLE customer service.

Rude service complete with loud sighing as I asked for an itemized receipt for my HSA.

Things that are good about this place: good location, designer glasses, they took my insurance, polite staff
The bad: waiting times even for appointments (1030a appointment, waited til 1100a to be seen) the doctor seems to not remember u even after going there for years. He treats patients like transactions not patients. And the doc will tell u one thing then tell u a completely different thing the next year. (He told me I can wear weekly contacts for a month, then the year after he was like «Why would you do that?») last thing, they make you fill out information that they should have on file everytime. Smh

Have gone here multiple times, which is how I noticed a troubling pattern:
Dr. Fonticoba flips your prescription back and forth each time, regardless of eye exam results. One year it will be «Your right eye is an 8.5 (I have terrible eyesight),» and you get a prescription for 8.5 in your right eye. The next year it’s «Well, your right eye is an 8.5, but I’m going to write you a prescription for an 8.0 to try to strengthen your eye.» OK, I don’t understand how that works, but I’m not the one with the optometry degree, so sounds good, I guess. Then it was «Well, here’s your prescription for an 8.5.» What happened to strengthening??? No recollection. Then it was back to 8.0!
Another trend: Every year Dr. Fonticoba flips which brand of lens he recommends.
Every year, Dr. Fonticoba flips your base curve from an 8.3 to an 8.4 and back again.
Coincidentally, the lenses he recommends each year only come in either an 8.3 OR an 8.4 — so you have to reorder new lenses in the new brand.
The women at the check-​out counter are always shocked and upset when you don’t order contact lenses from them on the way out. I always tell them I have coupons to order online and I would just like a copy of my prescription, please. They give it to me … reluctantly.
Basically, I think this place is a scam. You don’t get a glaucoma test or anything to measure the health of your eyes. You read off the chart for a bit and then you get sent on your way. The place is obviously making money off the contact lens orders and doing everything it can to ensure that you will have to keep re-​ordering the brands they choose (and probably are getting some kind of kick-​back for) as often as possible.

I made a last minute appointment online for a checkup and prescription. When I arrived the staff was nice and there was no wait time. They took my convoluted vision insurance without a problem and had me in and out in 15 minutes.

Offers great customer service for optical care… PSH, IF ONLY! I personally prefer Lenscrafters, but resorted to give Pearle Vision a try since Lenscrafters won’t take the insurance I recently purchased. My first visit wasn’t too bad, but it definitely wasn’t great. My second visit basically made me decide on not coming back for another visit at this particular location. After I ran out of contacts, I decided to call in to order more. A week passed and they haven’t even called once to notify me that my contacts are ready for pickup. I had to call in to ask if they were ready. Before I could even finish what I had to say, the lady cuts me off and puts me on hold TWICE! Extremely rude much?! They also have a problem greeting people. There’s no hello, can I help you? Or what can I do for you? Instead, I get, «you’re here to pick up something or what?» after I’ve been waiting for a few minutes of no acknowledgment. Is it really that difficult to say «hi, how are you? One moment please» or something?!
Definitely wouldn’t recommend this particular Pearle Vision location.
