Philly InMovement

If one of the things you’re hoping for your kid to do is make progress in gymnastics, this may not be the place for you. My kid likes the classes (and we’ve taken several) – and that’s great. The difficulty we have run into is that InMovement makes no accommodations for continuity. Each class enrollment is a Darwinian ‘first come, first served’ race, and the popular classes and slots fill up within mere hours. If you weren’t smart or savage enough to be online at 12:01 am on the pre-​enrollment day, the fact that your kid did great in his current class doesn’t give you any standing to get into the next, so development grinds to an abrupt halt.
Decent instructors. Reasonable prices. But their disdain for their clientele is Comcastian (if that’s a word). I look forward to another gymnastics business opening somewhere – almost anywhere – in Philadelphia.

I just had my daughters birthday party here in February. I had never been there before but it had good reviews from my friends and Unilocal.The party was everything I expected and all my guest enjoyed themselves. The teachers were great with the kids and everything was organized and on time down to the minute. I’m so happy with got the extra half hour. I will say the moon bounce was great but maybe for older children. I insisted on helping but they took over and setup, decorated, cleanup and packed everything to go. If you are looking to have a party here. look no further. I wish i remember the teachers name because you should request them. –signed londons mom :-)

Best Birthday Party Ever! We have done the free play and a class and most recently a birthday party for our four year old. The party was we’ll organized fast paced and perfectly planned to the minute. We were looking for a low stress party. We did the DIY party last year and this year needed a break. The three staff members did everything from set up to clean up. They even took care of wiping the cup cakes off the kids faces. They also knew all the kids names! Seriously impressive! We opted for the add on bounce house and it was a huge hit.
The previous review said that the staff isn’t involved in open gym but they make that crystal clear. Open gym is not a free class. Open gym is a time for you to play with your kid at a gym. How cool is that?! The classes are wonderful too. Check them out and see for yourself. There is something for everyone there.

I took my daughter to the movers and shakers class for a few sessions since she was about 18 months old. I preferred this class to the regular tumblers class because they do more circle time with singing and movement before getting into the gymnastics stuff, which was the right balance for her.
The staff is really sweet and caring, and they do a really good job with the kids. The only downsides are that it’s a little on the expensive side for a 45 minute toddler class, and they don’t typically do make up classes for weather cancellations. I like the open gym drop ins, but the times aren’t often nap-​friendly for us; they’re worth checking out if you just want to give it a try before signing up. Also keep an eye on their website for early bird discounts for registering for a class.

I haven’t been to InMovement since I attended class with my daughter. She is now 3 and was invited to a birthday party here for one of her classmates. This was one of the best run children’s parties I have been to. There was time for «free play» but a lot of structured activity. The girl running the party was sweet and really engaging the kids. It was only an hour and a half, but it was plenty of time for activities and food. I am now considering having my daughter’s next birthday here and would try another class based on this good experience.

This place is pretty fun for my kids. There are lots things for them to do and play on, some they can do, and some require a grown-up’s help, but all are fun and safe.
PROS–
— between the monkey bars, trampoline, the rings and the rock wall, your kid will get plenty of safe playtime and exercise
— if your kiddo isn’t as adventurous or is still too small for the tumbling activities, the staff have provided toys and instruments for the little ones to play with
— bubble time at the end of class
CONS–
— kind of a small free play area (although not as small as the 1^st InMovement was)
— the staff is pretty non participatory during free play
TIPS–
— there are adult classes and courses too! Check them out
— If you are unsure about the classes, purchase the package deals. They give you a certain amount of free play times (although there is a strict free play time schedule and the times change everyday)

Great Gym for kids. Trampolines, floor mats, and more. The staff are extremely attentive and really get the kids involved! Our son loves it!

Sara Trindade and Philly InMovement is such a wonderful place. As a parent, I feel so lucky to have it right here in walking distance from where we live. My kids have been students of Ms. Sara’s since they were babies. There are tons of classes to choose from. The staff is super nice and knowledgeable about early childhood development and motor skills. Thank you, Philly InMovement!

In Movement has moved to new, larger studio space just off of Bainbridge St. My daughter has attended several sessions. Good instructors, nice space, recommended!

My daughter is attending her second session at InMovement for a toddler music and dance class. She started out somewhat shy, but each class helps her build her confidence, strength and sociability. The instructors have a great sense of dealing with and teaching kids. Keeping a 2 year old’s attention is difficult, but these classes are perfect!
