Philly Music Academy

I have been wanting to learn how to play guitar forever… my brother and my dad are both musical geniuses and somehow I got left by the wayside. After finally finding the time in my busy schedule, I found PMA. LOVE this place. Not only is Benjamin one of the most genuine people I have ever met, but he is extremely patient and a natural teacher.
I loved that PMA provided all of the instruments. As a novice, one of the reasons I never pursued my interest in guitar was the upfront cost. I was able to build my confidence here very quickly during this five week course, and it was definitely worth every penny spent. I will certainly recommend this program to several friends, and I will be showing off my new found skills with my dad and bro at the next family function thanks to PMA. :)

I just started my guitar lessons with Benjamin two weeks ago and he has been simply phenomenal. Being an extremely novice musician, I was impressed with Ben’s ability to adjust his teaching strategy to my learning needs. He is not only patient and understanding, but also very encouraging. As my skills grow every week, I find my confidence in other aspects of my life increasing as well… and I can whole heartedly say that I have Ben to thank for that.
I highly recommend that anyone, regardless of their musical abilities, take a lesson with Philly Music Academy.

Being a Philly transplant (for the time being) I feel super lucky to have fallen into PMA. A friend of a friend recommended this place to me while I was talking about trying to get back into music. As a piano player that always wished to be cool enough to play the guitar (ha) I thought I’d give it a whirl, finally.
I took a five lesson session with the owner and picked things up way more quickly than I expected. I learned chords, some tricks, and (yay!) music! I can play a few songs at this point with the chords that I learned.
One thing I was pretty happy to learn was that the classes are taught in small groups. It took the pressure off me as a real beginner, but it was also few enough people that i got attention. The other people in my session were great too.
With some practice, and maybe another session, I might be at the point where I can be a cool guitarist like I always wanted.. . though ‘cool’ might be the tough part.
