This is probably the best/​niciest electronics store I’ve ever been to! All the sales reps are nice and helpful.. especially Darresha! I was looking for wall charger for my camcorder, and she found one with a USB adapter and took it out of the package to test if it works with the camcorder. Unfortunately it wasn’t what I was looking for, but she then suggested that I check other nearby stores that might have it. Probably the best customer service I’ve had in a while, since very rarely will you find a sales rep that will go out of her way to help you out, not to mention one that’s willing to send you to other stores! Give Darresha a raise :)

The first time I came in here, ever was during the Christmas season. I was very happy with the customer service and was in and out in no time. Naturally, I expected the same customer service when I was in recently. HOWEVER…
I was looking for an external hard drive that I had seen on the website. Upon walking in, I walked up to two teenage girls who were deep in some gossip conversation. They looked at me like I was clearly interrupting them. They did not say hello or ask if they could help. They just stared at me. I was in a hurry so I said hi and proceeded to explain exactly what I had come in for, seen on the website, etc. The one girl loudly talked over me saying «We don’t got that.» then turned away from me to continue her conversation with the other one.
I walked away looking at the wall with SEVERAL external hard drives, I said «these are external hard drives…» They didn’t respond. I asked if they had anything smaller than 1TB and they said no. I said they had it on the website, was it possible to order it and have it shipped to the store and forego the payment of shipping? They looked at me like I had 6 heads. This was just too much thinking for these girls, clearly. Realizing, I was only wasting time asking these morons questions, I asked the girl to simply get the 1TB drive down and I would buy that and be done with it. The other girl all of a sudden chimes up and tells me that I should have gone to Staples to get what I was looking for. I just looked at her thinking «this person (who WORKS here) couldn’t possibly be this stupid… could she?!» Since I didn’t respond, she repeated herself to which I said «yes, I heard you but you have the item on your web site so why are you telling me to go to Staples?» (BTW I had checked Staples before I came in and they didn’t have it-​Radio Shack DID, so naturally I went there!)
When it came time to pay, I used a credit card and the girl asked for ID. She had her back turned to me so I put it down on the transaction top. She turned around with her hand out and I indicated it was right there on the smudgy, oily glass that hadn’t been cleaned all day. She got very huffy, shook her head, and muttered something under her breath that sounded very derogatory and took my card. THAT WAS IT. She had no right to treat me that way. WHY SO MUCH ATTITUDE?! I asked her what her name was and she said Shana (sp). I asked to speak with a manager to let them know how these girls are behaving. As soon as I started talking to the assistant manager who came out from the back, this Shana character started moving very close to us and staring at me, trying to read my lips. She clearly cared about what I had to say but didn’t care about her own behavior?! Even if she was not knowledgeable about store items, who knows-​maybe she was new, whatever her story-​I would have likely not complained if she were KIND to me.
I was not running my hand down that dirty counter to hand her my card when it was far closer to her than me. Why hire people who do not want to work? They just want to gossip all day and treat customers like they are intruding into the store! God forbid you ask them a question, then they really get mad at you!
Everyone who walks in that door deserves to be treated with courtesy not just because the employee is in a good or «helping» mood that day but just BECAUSE!

Amidst the hustle-​bustle of downtown, I was able to duck into this Radio Shack and get some actual, one-​on-​one customer service. The associate took plenty of time to explain all the details on the Roku device. Talk to Jeff like I did, he was very helpful and thorough.

I always get great customer service at this radioshack. I’ve been coming here for 4 years– I have a crappy virgin mobile phone, and they’re super knowledgeable about the models they offer, even though the service and merchandise isn’t popular.
The guys (and girls!) behind the desk are nothing but kind, accommodating, and professional. Endless kudos for this location, as I’ll be coming here for as long as I live in Philly.

I needed an iPhone charger and they had iPhone chargers. I had cash in my pocket so we made the exchange. Ain’t no shack like a RADIO SHACK!

I went into this Radioshack needing to very quickly buy a cheap flash drive to put a couple of files on before a lunch meeting. The guy who asked me if I needed any help started to ring me up for the first flash drive he saw, saying that’s all they had. It was a lot bigger (and therefore more expensive) than what I asked him for. I then noticed a bunch of cheaper-​looking flash drives LITERALLY RIGHT BY his head behind the counter, and when I asked him how much they were he looked very pained and puzzled. He reluctantly read me the price and size of the closest one to him… I waited for him to continue with the other 2 or 3, but I guess he didn’t feel like it? I just went ahead and bought that one, rather than jumping behind the counter to look at them myself. Worst customer service ever!

I DO try to use Unilocal only for good, but if you’re rude to me, I’m going to share it. EVERYONE deserves good customer service and it’s a good practice to remember that ANYONE could be a Unilocaler.
When I come into your store and say, «I need a cheap pay-​as-​you-​go phone because my iPhone isn’t compatible with my building’s call box,» first of all, why would you need to look at my iPhone, and secondly, why would you start talking to me about trading in my phone for something else?!
So I repeat what I came in for, and in reply, in a nasty nasty tone, «I’m just doing my job!»
I’m sorry, but isn’t your job to LISTEN TO WHAT THE CUSTOMER WANTS?! I came in for something specific to fill one specific need. Give me what I asked for or I’ll take my business elsewhere (which I did… to Staples down the street).
