Came here due to the Unilocal reviews. It’s far from the other Indonesian stores/restaurants, and there is no reason to come here(unless you are within walking distance). Really small store, small selection of Indonesian ingredients. Prices are slightly higher than at Café Pendawa Lima.

I strongly recommend going to a market with higher-turnover. I just got a prepared Indonesian dish of boiled eggs, tempe and tofu that had not one, but two segmented bugs in it. I don’t even know what kind of bugs they were as I had never seen the type before… I just know they weren’t roaches. I guess the joke’s on me for trying a new place for Indonesian food.

Quite strategic location(passed by 2 bus routes) but be very diligent in your quest. This tiny store blends with the residential neighborhood and sometimes easy to miss if you don’t read its sign board. Nevertheless, this is still a favorite spot to get all of my Indonesian staple items. From Indomie to ABC chili sauce, from homemade snacks to cooking spices, Ramayana has it all.

I drove 20 miles to go here due to the unique Indonesian slant to the store as I was wanting ingredients to cook Indonesian food and it didn’t disappoint. Frozen galangal(laos), banana leaf, pandanus leaf, and a myriad of sauces, noodles, spices are available here. They also have a section of prepared foods that are authentic recipes. I did not meet the«older couple» mentioned in other reviews, but a young(possibly son?) man that was very, very helpful and fun to talk to. It is unassuming from the outside and smallish on the inside but it is #1 for Indonesian in my book.

Blink and you may just miss this tiny store in the City of Brotherly Love! Walking through the aisles brings back nostalgic memories of when I was in Indonesia myself. Staple foods such as Indomie and all sorts of Rotary crackers can be found, as well as hard to find munchies such as emping(chips made from melinjo nuts) and Kukagumi brand chips. Prices are comparable to the other Asian groceries in the city, but what makes Ramayana Store stand out is its welcoming vibe and the rather extensive selection of imported goods.

This is a nice small store that doesnt have any signs or anything outside. you can notice that its indonesian because of the signs and products in the window. its a small red-ish brick building, they also have a wide variety of indonesian products such as sambal, abc and indomie. the owners are an older couple from surabaya and are always smiling. they do have a large selection of goods packed into a tight spot. it is run by a husband and wife eastern java. takes cash only.
