Dear owners or mangers of Rumor. Your night club SUCKS! You have no business running that place. You have a basis for a great dance club, but you’re stuck in the 80’s. Stop these things NOW!!! Playing videos of naked women on your screens. Also, your bartenders need training and a different outfit. If I’m paying $ 11 for a cocktail, it better be a good one! At a club, I’d buy more if it’s done right. A short pour and the rest from your gun does not make a good drink. Such a large city and you seem like you struggle to have any type of vibe. I’d be packing them in if I had my way. Get them in the door and have them stay.

I’ve never been at a place that has a $ 20 cover. This was real, I didn’t believe it until we got up to the door. The only staff here that were polite were the bartenders. Everyone from the bouncer to the coatcheck person looked like they hated their job. By the end of the night, I picked up my coat and the woman crumpled it up and threw it on the counter top. The cover was $ 30 and included open bar from 10pm-12am. This was a good deal considering that you can get pretty messed up with short lines at the bar. Also, why are all the women dressed up like they’re ready to go to a lingerie party? I am definitely never coming back, no thanks.

I was visiting Philly for a bachelorette when we tried going into this place. First off, there is a $ 20 entry fee. Um hell no! When 7 pretty girls walk into a club, they shouldn’t need to pay an entry fee. Also, the bouncers were rude and condescending. Yes, I know — most door guys are. But this is usually the case if the club is actually worth my while, which i could tell this place was NOT. It was a ghost town out in front — They should have been flattered we even considered walking INSIDE.

This place was nice initially but overall the cover of $ 20 is not worth the experience you get inside. The drinks are very overpriced, the music in both the hip hop room and edm room was absolutely dreadful. The edm room had no excitement and it was the same beat the.whole.entire.night. For the hip hop room it was a slight improvement. But overall the music just wasn’t on par with other clubs. There are many other options in the philly club scene, I would definitely recommend skipping rumor.

Great house music. The crowd tends to change which I’m ok with. Everyone dances which is also a cool thing, hate when I go to clubs and people try to just stand there on the dance floor. A very busy place. Great for a night out, just dress to impress.

Quite an upscale club. There was one room that feels like a stripper club, filled with scantily clad women dancing on raised platforms and iffy-looking people; we didn’t like it there, but the other areas were cool. Dance floors were a bit small, but there were a couple of them, so there’s space to dance, and the music was good. Plenty of good-looking people here. The bar was really nice(lit in a pink shade) and has great staff and drinks. The bathrooms were, oh, so clean — so much better than other clubs’ bathrooms! Altogether, pretty cool club but nothing too special. If it weren’t for a special school night(with only $ 5 for cover), I wouldn’t have come here, since I’ve heard this is a pricey place. I don’t need a fancy, pricey club to get a bit drunk and dance with people… The bathrooms were quite clean though, so that was nice…

Awesome environment. One room had house music and the other had hip hop. I believe the cranberry vodka was $ 9. Open bar is $ 30 for 2 hours. Anyways, went with a few guy friends and it was okay. Would recommend bringing a few female friends lol

I actually really like the place. Philly doesn’t have a dress code apparently. Doesn’t matter what night club you go. That’s sad. But Rumor had quite nicely dressed people. More adult… I would say mid 20 – 30. People were actually enjoying James&Ryan’a music and drinks. We’re dancing rathen than sexing… We’re relaxing. Didn’t quite like the stage… Need to improve it and add more light effects.

My opinion is a bit bias, I typically have only gone with people who are either known, or have bought sections. So I’ve never had to pay for myself to get in or pay for drinks although other views say it’s pricey and I believe it. It’s probably 1 of the few«clubs» in philly. But the music is good, it’s typically a nice blend of music, hip-hop — pop. Pretty spacious.

Considering other club options in Philly, this is the only one worth going to if you want to dance! If you understand nightclubs and just want to dance, you will have fun. If not, you might get annoyed like some other Unilocalers. Pros — Two different rooms with their own music. I went on a Saturday night and one room was hip-hop remixes from the past ten years and one was more techno. The hip-hop one was packed, but we still found room to dance in the middle. — The ambiance feels upscale like a true nightclub. — The main bathroom line moves quickly thanks to the staff who constantly monitors it. Plus, the bathroom area is a long hallway that opens on both ends with a large amount of completely enclosed, separate stalls(with their own private sinks)! This is a huge bonus compared to many other clubs and bars where you spend half the night waiting in the bathroom line. Tip: Most people get in the main line by the mirrors in the front room, but if you enter the bathrooms from the other side(back room), you can get in quicker. I did this every time and got a stall immediately most times because the staff will look at both ends for people waiting for the restrooms. — The coat check process was streamlined well from checking in to checking out. It’s $ 2 per coat plus a tip jar. It was fast entering and leaving and felt secure. — We arrived at midnight on a Saturday night and the outside line moved quickly. Cons — I wasn’t a fan of the wait staff’s skimpy outfits as I don’t think you need to dress that extreme to make money in a club full of drunk people. Even my fiancé made a comment about it was gross that they looked like they were wearing lingerie and he’s a guy, lol. It’s just not necessary to go that extreme. I’ve been to plenty of clubs and you can look sexy and classy without half your T&A hanging out. — As others mentioned, $ 20 per person for a cover charge is ridiculous. I never even paid that at top clubs in Vegas and Miami. I understand it’s half the cost if you go earlier, and if you sign-up for their newsletter, you get a one-time buy one, get one free cover for two people. Considering the lack of other good club options in Philly, they can get away with it. Others listed the prices of the drinks as a con, but I don’t see them as a negative. We ordered two vodka drinks for $ 20, so that’s $ 10 a piece… typical for a drink in Philly. Also, if you are smart about it, you will pre-game before the club so you can focus on dancing while you are there and not waiting in line for drinks all night. You will experience people constantly bumping you while on the dance floor, not to mention the 1 – 2 random couples making out hardcore instead of dancing. This annoyed my fiancé a lot, but that’s how clubs are and just part of the experience. It’s the same in New York, Dallas, Miami, etc… people are packed into rooms with good music, so with people dancing while inebriated and trying to hold drinks, you are bound to get pushed and possibly some fluids spilled on you at some point. Overall, if you just want to booty dance, go here and have fun! I wasn’t sure what to wear in the middle of winter, but saw everything from short, halter top dresses and heels to long sleeve dresses with tights and flat leather boots, so as long as you look dressy it doesn’t matter.

By far my favorite club in philly. I never have a bad time here, the crowd can sometimes be a little iffy, but hey its a night club what do you expect? The music and ambiance in this club is the most classiest and fun in my opinion. If youre coming to philly for a weekend I reccomend this spot! The cover is usually 20 $ so its quite pricey but watch out for deals they always have 10 $ before midnight and things like that! I have gone for the past 3 years and have only paid 20 $ once!

I wouldn’t consider this to be the«best club» in Philadelphia. Have been going to Rumor for three years and so far it’s been ok. $ 20 to get in(bleh). An upscale-y atmosphere and is fun at times. What I like about Rumor is how there are two dance floors — one with all edm music and another with hip-hop. In the edm room, I feel like they play a lot more of techno… Weekends can get really crowded so prepare ladies to be stomped and shoved. Brace yourselves. Expect to pay a ridiculous amount for mixed drinks but hey, if you’re getting sober, gotta do what you gotta do and turn back up. If you ever lose anything or get overcharged on your debit or credit card(for some reason /mistake) and need to speak with someone. Good luck. This place NEVER picks up their damn office phone. I don’t know what their management does — do they even have an office they ‘work’ in? I don’t understand why their customer service is ass. You leave them multiple messages and no call back. Email them and they’ll MAYBE get back to you after the weekend is over.

«best ‘club’ in Philadelphia» — not saying much. Pretentious closet space for Philadelphians who are striving to either look cool or relive their meaningless Vegas experience. Sad really, since they’ve gotten some good musical acts recently. Can actually be a decent venue since the sound quality is good. But any wannabe NYC/Miami/Vegas/Ibiza place is a joke in this city. I love how I saw a total of 3 people dancing there during Chus and Ceballos because, geez, who knew that 12 inch stilettos and your birth canal hanging out of your thong aren’t conducive to moving your body and letting loose.

Rumor as a space has potential, but it’s stuck in 2005. Nightlife has evolved beyond dudes in blue striped button ups and girls stumbling in 6 inch stilettos and a skirt showing the birth canal. People want to pay to actually have fun, not two step while holding their $ 19 mixed drink. Get rid of your pathetic dress code and beyond basic music. Keep bringing in talented DJs, but allow people to wear attire they can actually get down in. This space could be so great if management could understand that. You will get a much better, consistent crowd of people who will spread the word. Until this place gets with the times, I will not be paying $ 20 to hang out with pretentious douches who enjoy Wiz Khalifa and Krewella. No no no.

Awful music, awful crowd. Got asked to leave because I told someone not to get in a picture with my friends. Couldn’t find worse bouncers, bartenders, security, atmosphere, etc Couldn’t leave a worse review if I tried

Whether you’re a breakdancer, or merely a can move your feet on the dance floor, trust me you’ll have a good time at Rumor. Top 40, hip hop, techno, and house music, Rumor has you covered, and this is not a rumor. –Open Thur, Fri, & Sat. — Holy Moly $ 20 cover. But, If you sign up for their mailing list, you’ll get a free VIP entry pass before 11:00 pm. — Strict dress policy, no sneakers, hats, baggy, saggy or low worn jeans. Well, I’m sure you know how to dress for the club! –U-shaped, underground club with 4-rooms, including the Vault(dedicated to the VIPs). — Good ambiance, and nice-sized dance floor. Those who know me, probably have noticed that I got two left feet. should I go on? There’s nothing better than spending a night out Three Unilocal

I really like Rumor– I think it’s probably one of the hottest nightclubs in Philly, as you can see from my previous post, but I was here this past Saturday night for a birthday party and my mind has seriously changed(only due to their security). Our party was sectioned off in the corner of the VIP room and we were spread out through out the vault bar. We were having an awesome time dancing and mingling, however, as soon as my fiancée and his friend left the table area to go to the bar, a security guard came over to them and said they heard that they were«selling guns» in the club. I find that to be extremely offensive and racist coming from Rumor. We all came in as a big group– husbands and wives, and if security thought anyone in our group had«guns,» we should’ve been checked at the door(which we weren’t by the way). There was absolutely no reason to even come to us and say something like that when we were just drinking and enjoying our time together, we are not even that kind of people to be carrying any type of weapon. And why the hell would anyone be selling guns in a club? That doesn’t even make any sense. My fiancée and his friends brushed off this ignorant remark and went on to enjoy the night. We went to different rooms to dance to music and decided to come back to our table. Also, the one Filipino looking guy in front of the vault is very professional, every time I went in and out, he always held out his hand to help me down the steps. The other white guy acts like he doesn’t want to let anyone in so I have to keep showing my wrist band every time I go in and out. We were having a lot of fun until a random drunk guy walked up next to my fiancé while we were in the middle of dancing together and grabbed him by the neck. Now, I don’t know how everyone else would’ve reacted to a stranger grabbing you by the neck but my fiancée was caught off guard, especially because he had no idea who this guy was. So he told the guy to get away from him and to not touch him. Alcohol also played a part because you’re never supposed to touch someone that’s been drinking, especially if you do not know him. So that’s when security came over to our section and our friends swarmed over to make sure we were oaky. Now my fiancée did have some words with the guard that accused him and our friend of «selling guns» because he found that to be extremely racist(our party was majority african american by the way). Next thing you know, we were being led out of the club and the security guard walking behind us spoke into his walkie talkie and said«the guy and his girl are coming up the stairs, as soon as he gets to the top– fuck him up.» There was no reason for security guards to «fuck him up», absolutely no reason at all since no one touched security or anyone else. I believe they were setting up a trap right before we got to the entrance so it looks as if we were trying to fight security. And on top of that, police were walking up to the door and if my fiancée fought back after being ambushed, he probably would’ve been arrested. I will take my money to where it’s appreciated. Thanks but no thanks.

$ 20 cover with a ticket for the Saturday we went. We came here for the bf’s friend’s girl friend’s birthday and I was far from impressed. Although the line to get in moved at a good pace, people who were friends of the bouncer were cutting the line as well as other random people that jumped the line to be with friends. Coat check was $ 2. Then we made our way in. The birthday girl ordered a drink at the main bar and finally got it after a 10 minute wait in line. As she walked away, she tasted it and surprise, it was not what she ordered! The music was mediocre at best. Any half decent song would come on and play for five seconds before being remixed into oblivion. The crowd was full of sloppy people that would bump and push into you without even an ‘excuse me’. The walls of each room were mirrored and many people, including the bf, walked into them at some point. The experience was interesting, but given the choice, I pick old city over rumor any day!

Probably the only really popping club in Philly. 1. $ 20 cover or tickets when a DJ is playing 2. Gets packed around 12:30−1AM…depending on the night 3. There are multiple rooms that play diff music which is a plus 4. Drinks are your average club price $ 15 – 20 shots/mixed drinks and $ 6 – 8 beer 5. Mixed crowd although it depends because sometimes there’s a crapload of asians 6. There is a mirror wall in one of the rooms… not sure why but be careful when you walk in there drunk… I’ve seen people try to fight their own reflection or just walk into the wall altogether 7. There are pregaming spots on the same street(ladder 15 or Oscars tavern) Overall it’s a good time and big name DJs roll through here like Kaskade. I’d highly recommend pregaming before coming just like any other club.

French comment: Boîte sympa. Clientèle variée et friendly. 2 salles pour varier les ambiances. Djs généralement d’un bon niveau. Un peu cher pour un club qui ferme à 2h, mais un des meilleurs en centre ville pour passer du bon temps.
