Expensive but worth it??? Definitely not. I have worked in the food service industry for over 5 years and while I’ve thought about wringing my customer’s necks a couple times, I would NEVER speak to or treat them the way I was treated by the staff here. I’ll start at the beginning. I went here yesterday with a friend after class because it was right around the corner from our school(CCP) and I have never been. Normally, I go to the Saladworks at the Willow Grove Mall because it’s close to where I live and I’ve never had a problem there. We walk in and it’s mostly empty. The staff looks like they don’t know why they’re there and have the well known«Philly» attitude about them. I order a buffalo chicken salad and small Maine Lobster Bisque. I paid $ 18.31. The soup has barely any taste and severely lacks the Lobster taste as well as the actual pieces. Did I mention it was lukewarm? The salad was fine except the Indian woman slathered it in bleu cheese dressing, as if that can make up for too few toppings. Also, the avocado was practically frozen, and I got beans and artichoke by some horrible chance of luck. Don’t get me wrong, I love artichoke but only if it’s been steamed and there’s plenty of butter to slather on the good parts. The artichoke piece didn’t bother me so much as the frozen avocado did. Now the fun begins. I take my salad up to the counter and tell them I tasted artichoke and the avocado was frozen(I hadn’t yet found the bean). The African American girl starts the Philly attitude first. She rolls her eyes, leans on the counter disinterestedly and mumbles under her breath about me right while I’m standing there. As if I can’t hear her whispers. The Indian woman inspects my salad and declares there’s nothing wrong with it and gives me a spiel about how the avocado can’t possibly be frozen. I tell her she can taste it if she doesn’t believe me and that there isn’t anymore artichoke to be found so far because I ate the piece by accident. She badgers me demanding to know what it is I’d like her to do. I tell her I’d like her to remake my salad. Her response: «Oh no, I can’t do that. The salad is 13.00 $s I can’t. What do you want? More toppings?» I give up and tell her I want more tortilla strips. She throws broken pieces of them on top and I go back to sit with my friend at the dirty booth. I don’t even get a bite in before I spot the lima bean sitting cozily in my salad. I take it back and show the Indian woman the bean and she again declares it was simply a mistake, I’m making a big deal out of nothing. I’m sorry, would any of you pay 13 $ dollars for messed up food? The woman again starts yelling asking me what I want and I tell her I want a new salad. I want my money’s worth. She remakes it herself, very angrily, without the avocado(not gonna make that mistake twice), and I leave with my friend. The fighting made me lose my appetite and I wound up having to throw it out because surprise surprise, salads don’t fair too well on an hour long ride home. I will never come back here. All in all, I lost my money, time, and appetite. I only wish I’d read the reviews before I went here. It would’ve saved me the trouble and my spoons.(Look up Spoon Theory if you don’t get the reference). Also, I should note I’ve never felt so compelled to write a review in my life about somewhere I’ve been. The staff needs to be fired or intensively retrained on how to handle food and customers. Heed my warning fellow foodies, reviewers, and customers. Do NOT eat here.

Decent options, half salad combos available… Overall it seems more like a McDonald’s that does salad than a salad place. Maybe I’m biased because in NYC we have so many customizable salad places, but this spot left me wanting. They didn’t ask what lettuce I wanted, if I wanted it chopped, if I didn’t want any ingredients(because for many salads they’re not listed, so it would have been helpful to know)… Meh, for $ 9 ya get what ya pay for.

How do you mess up a salad? How do you mess up a salad where all of the components are right there in plain sight? I don’t know and yet, I had a hard time managing to stomach the salad I ordered here. I just felt that even though all of the ingredients looked good to the eye, the vegetables were somewhat tasteless. Also possibly overchilled. Maybe I was there at the end of a freshness cycle(if there is such a thing) but between the dingy feel of the room and the tasteless salad I think I’m disinclined to give them another shot. Sorry.

I am a HUGE fan of Saladworks, I love their salads and their staff is always patient and friendly… but the Saladworks on Spring Garden Street makes me never want to step into another Saladworks restaurant again. As a college student who is trying to stay healthy, there are not many healthy options around here besides Saladworks, which is highly depressing now. To start off, their staff is incredibly rude and loud. When you walk in no one says hi, they just look at you. Then while you order your food, the African American girl behind the counter rolls her eyes and sort of yells at you if you take too long or if she can’t hear what you said. Then I see that she gives me a little bit of my choices, while my salad ends up to be 9.17. There are restaurants that for 10.95 give you a salad 3 times bigger than theirs. I leave hungry every time. Then while you are sitting down trying to enjoy your meal, all you hear is the loud yelling from the indian woman constantly yelling out ingredients that need to be refilled. There are 10000 better ways to do this instead of ruining peoples dining experience. Horrible. If I ever go back here it’s only because I need something healthy. But I don’t think that will be for a while.

This location is not winning any franchise of the year award any time soon I assure you. It was pretty chaotic when I visited. It’s never a good idea to have the same person making your salad and counting your change. The woman who also helps behind the counter is pretty abrasive. She screamed out every salad ingredient I asked for after I said it, I guess because they were running low. It was a circus. And unless you enjoy your lunch break punctuated by screaming out of vegetable names, I’d avoid.

This place is chaos. All I wanted was a soup and sandwich and it was impossible to find a menu for sandwiches. It took me 8+ minutes of walking around picking up random SaladWorks literature. Someone from behind the counter, saw what I was doing and then took a menu from behind the counter and handed it to me. By that time the line filled up. I just threw my hands up and walked out. tl;dr It took me 8+ minutes to find a menu? I just left.

DON’T EATHERE !!! I work near this location and made the mistake of eating here before. One day after work I was on a phone call on the side of this place. Supplies we’re being brought in through the front door and hundreds and hundreds of cockroaches we’re running out of cracks in the wall on the side.

Unless you like watching a disorganized circus show, and poorly prepared food, I’d avoid this place. The woman who prepared my wrap couldn’t have cared any less about customer service. She threw my wrap together carelessly, then practically screamed across the room asking if I wanted it toasted– all while she argued with coworkers about how they were doing their job wrong. The only thing I can say about the wrap was that it was terrible– primarily because they slop on way too much dressing. Only come here if you’re desperate for food or you find amusement in fast food employees arguing with each other.

The black girl who works the salad bar is such a nice woman and obviously cares about the quality of the food and the customers! The salads are good, but overpriced. Never had a wrap or panini so I won’t comment about those. Management seems a little rude and distant, but the staff themselves are very friendly.

I think I have to blame the corporation more so than the particular location. The portion size to price ratio is below an acceptable standard. It’s very much obvious that a good amount of the money one would spend on a single salad goes into the overhead cost of marketing, and accounting for a variety of foods that may go bad quickly. The location yields for high traffic volume which may explain the impatient and unhelpful customer service. I’ve tried this location twice in the past year nearby my workplace. Would much rather get a salad from the pizza place down the street which is the same price and contains nearly 4 times the amount of produce and protein.

Saladworks makes me wish there was a Souplantation in Philadelphia. But there isn’t and I hope at some point I accept that. To me, the prices at Saladworks are high. But this is my typical reaction to the prices of salads these days. Their soups are a little less expensive. And I appreciate that they usually have a few vegetarian soup options. They also keep everything tidy and have a locality program.

I dig big salads. While not in the style of Elaine Benes, Saladworks still manages to impress. The portion is huge and I hope for my diet’s sake that that means equally healthy. I always get the Chicken Caesar with the Light Parmesan Caesar dressing. They fill it to the brim and it’s delicious. They always wear gloves which is key for me and are very nice. The salad comes with either a white or wheat roll. I also splurge and get the tasty chocolate chip cookies. :P Very clean store and tasty salads!

If i could give a 2.5, I would’ve. I’ve been here twice. The workers are nice enough, albeit they do tend to rush you, or speak in a language other than English(i don’t like that, especially when someone other than ME is handling the food). They tend to not give you a lot of the fixin’s the other SaladWorks give(I’ve been to some where there’s an overabundance of things and not a whole lot of salad, not that I’m complaining for those SaladWorks’). Many of the veggies were improperly cut; stalks are BAD(okay, snobby culinary arts student speaking here), and the buffalo chicken pieces were fatty, grisely, or just plain ew… Cost me about $ 10, which is a bit pricey for a poor student… meh, it’s still better than some of the CCP cafeteria food…

This was the first place I ever tried a real panini… I was like $ 8 for this? My cheese wasn’t even melted to satisfaction. The turkey was too cold. It just didn’t mesh. The redemption of this place is the amazing juice blend fountain machine.(It was special fountain and I forget what it was called) I don’t think I’ve had anything like it. I wonder if it’s still there? I am a fan of the abbruzzi(sp?) pasta though. It’s a nice portion so I usually take some home. Also, there was quite a bit of seating as this place was really busy(connected to an office). I’ve never had a salad from Saladworks though. Go figure.

Never. again. I could make a better veggie wrap in my sleep. Actually, I could make a better salad wrap while having a nightmare. Over sauced, under veggied, partially stale wrap. NEVER. AGAIN!

As saladworks go, this one is pretty decent — and in the vast culinary wasteland of this neighborhood, it is a welcome and convenient(if pricey) choice. Home of the $ 8.00 salad, saladworks offers salads, soups and panini sadwiches(which I never get — as I do not like them). I have figured out the exactly right salad for me using the«create your own» option. Thus, I rarely deviate from my «usual». The greens are sometimes rusty — so I opt for spinach or spring mix. I also do not care for the rolls, so I never get one. It’s an option for a quick lunch and I am glad they are here so I don’t have to eat pizza every day.
