You know the feeling when you’re so ravenous that you order a whole pizza and then proceed to eat that whole pizza, which eventually leads to subsequent guilt and GI upset? Well, you’re in luck, if you finish a whole pizza at Santucci’s, you’ll only want to order another because it is THAT delicious! All I have to say is that the sauce is boss here! Santucci’s is a family-owned family establishment and they pride themselves on fresh, flavorful square pies! Every time I’ve been here, I’ve ordered«The Works» and have never been disappointed! They also have other fine entrees like pasta dishes and the like, but I’m a pizza kinda gal. Added bonus: BYO!

I got the garlic bread cheesesteak and it was very very good! Extra cheese with a craft beer. I enjoyed there craft beer selected and respected how they only used bottles for their beer. But the most amazing dish was the cheese pizza! Melt in your mouth texture and the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect.

We have ordered pizza from here every Saturday night for more than a year! It’s that good! Sauce over cheese may look daunting but it’s amazing! Love it!

Sauce on top of the cheese?! CRAZY !!! crazy good!!! This is my go-to pie if I’ve got some extra cash in my pocket. The Veggie Works is dank af. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. Amazing sauce, cheese, and crust. The staff is always prompt and professional. Delivery is quick and easy.

This place has the best pizza in Philly! All their entrees are fresh, plus the portions are the perfect size. I would also recommend the baked rigatoni and the ricotta cheesecake.

Place is amazing… I’m from Brooklyn, NY and I was having withdrawals from my NYC pizza. This place hit the spot! Everything was so fresh and delicious! I can’t wait to be back and explore the menu. My finance and I had personal pies and shared the mozz sticks, which were 10⁄10. Definitely worth going here and I can’t wait to come back.

I’ve been here twice before… what stood out more than the food was the amazing service. The first time I went I ordered the Green apple salad and a square pizza — both of which were pretty decent. This past Sunday when I went I wasn’t too happy about my meal. My side Cesar salad was DRENCHED in dressing and the cheese ravioli just wasn’t my taste. I have to say though, the olive oil croutons in my salad were probably some of the best I’ve ever had. I tried a bit of my friend’s marinara and it was SOAMAZING! I wish I had ordered another dish there. Maybe next time.

We were going to a sporting event and was looking for a restaurant fairly close. Santuccis on 10th Street was perfect. We made reservation and were seated right away. Restaurant was small and service wasn’t the most attentive at first. She dropped off water, took our order and brought our focaccia but we still didn’t have any silverware or napkins. Then she served our antipasto board and realized we didn’t have silverware yet which she immediately brought. From there, everything went beautifully! Our water glasses were refilled promptly and she even checked back to see if our food was alright. About our food, antipasto had cured meats(salami, prosciutto), assorted olives, hard cheese, roasted red peppers, long hots, onions and served with focaccia. Absolutely divine. Next time we’ll bring our wine. The side of two meatballs were good but wish they were more tender. The personal 9″ pie with sausage was heavenly. Perfect crust with delicious tomato sauce and just the right amount of cheese. We will definitely return.

My go to for pizza delivery. Always fresh and delicious. Friendly phone service and reasonable prices. Sweet sauce, good crust(especially if you crisp it on a pizza stone at home) and fresh toppings. Never a disappointment.

I recently moved to Philadelphia, and if you haven’t been here let me tell you, pizza places are a dime a dozen. Out of all the ones I have tried(20? 30?), Santucci’s truly stands out. Me and a group of friends stopped in after the Mummer’s parade and were blown away. Although the restaurant was filled to capacity and had countless take out orders, the service was attentive and relaxed. The food is stellar. We tried three different pizzas, two different pastas, one person had a burger, and we also tried the soup of the day. Everything was delicious, and obviously made with high quality ingredients and love. Hands down the best pizza I have eaten in Philadelphia. Be forewarned though, they are a cash only restaurant(with an ATM on premises).

So good. It’s wild. Just make sure you call the right one when you order ahead… Because if you don’t and show up and ask for your pizza they are kinda like«ouch, you called the wrong one.» But then they are like«Ay Louie, this dumbo called the wrong store! Throw a pie in right away so he doesn’t have to wait too long, ok Louie?» And Louie gives a little look that’s like«just this once, kid. Next time you waitin’.» Beat pizza I’ve had in Philly.

Tried this place out for a lazy Sunday dinner, and woah I am still reeling from the amount of food I consumed. My friend suggested The Works pizza and I had to have the house cut fries. Food was ready in mere minutes, and it took me just as long to devour everything(but three bites of pie). I’ve never had Sicilian style pizza before, and I’m shocked, seeing how much I enjoyed this pie. Cheese melted into the bread and sauce on top? Uh, yes please. My friend said this is the best Sicilian in the area, and for now I will have to agree. If only I had room in my stomach for those last few bites…

What was ordered: — Antipasto board appetizer — wings(honey chipotle) — pizza(half cheese/half sausage) $ 40(delivered) The antipasto board easily feeds 2 – 3 people and it is delicious. the wings come in various sauces. the honey chipotle was sweet and savory. i usually don’t like that ‘taste’, but Santucci’s knows what they’re doing. pizza is a bit too dough-y for me. i prefer thin crusted, but i wanted to see what all the rave was about! overall fats service and good food =)

— TIP: A substantial crust that stands up to the toppings. Take advantage & get The Works. — CON: Cash only. — BOTTOMLINE: It’s not Sicilian pizza — the crust is on the thinner side of thick which makes for a well-balanced pie. Every time I’m here with a group, I’m blown away by how little each of spend(usually ~$ 10).

Had a big order for 6 people and spent almost $ 100 on pizza and salads. One of the salads had next to no greens and was filled to the brim with bread cut up, totally embarrassed to put it on the table . Called the next day to talk to someone and got a run around about it. All I wanted was a credit for the next time but no one would call back or give me to the owner. Being in business myself, I totally think they dropped the ball or just don’t care. I care that I will never order there again and spread the word about poor customer relations!!!

Went here last week for a later dinner. When we walked up, all of the tables outside were full(there were only 5 or 6 but a few had been pushed together) but one was leaving so we snagged it. The weather was too nice to eat indoors! We decided on the Veggie pizza because it seemed most economical to pay $ 13 for a medium Veggie pizza that came with 5 toppings instead of $ 10 + $ 1.25 per topping to make a custom veggie pizza. So the pricing seemed pretty reasonable. The pizza itself wasn’t anything to write home about. It was square. I felt like it lacked cheese for being advertised as having extra cheese. It was also pretty greasy(as in, I picked up my slice and it dripped in a bad way) and a little too salty for our taste. A medium pizza was plenty for two average people to finish. I wasn’t super hungry so we even had 2 of the 6 slices left over. We must have missed the cash only sign because when it came time to pay we were informed that they didn’t accept cards. Thought that was odd as the website says they will have online ordering soon. They do have an ATM inside if you forget to bring cash. Overall, not a terrible experience, but I wasn’t blown away either.

Another day, another pizza craving. Santucci’s was a solid option for a sista to get that ‘za fix. After seeing several drool-worthy photos of the square legend all over Instagram and checking out the opinions of my fellow Unilocalers, finally decided to give this place a try. Two of us shared the fries and caesar salad to start, both of which were well portioned and tasty. The croutons in the salad were next level. I got a personal pizza with banana peppers and pepperoni. Love that they take the upside down approach and put the cheese first with sauce layered on top. Nana peps gave that extra little kick that I was looking for. The space itself is nothing too memorable, but they have outdoor seating and our server was super sweet. Will definitely be back!

A damn good cheese pizza. The crust is thick with good integrity. The cheese goes in next and tastes ever so fresh. The garlicky sauce tops it off. The white pizza has a ton of cheese and herbs. We usually get it topped with spinach. Delish! Delivery x 2 has been on time. Love this place. My go to delivery pizza! Tip: cash only

South Philly stalwart Santucci’s was founded by the late Joseph and Philomena Santucci. Since then, it’s passed down to the third generation, with granddaughter Alicia at the helm. Given the popularity of their square slices, it seems as though the quality built on the foundation of a strong family business has held true through the years. So when the GF’s family was in town and we were itching for a proper slice by Italian Market, I knew to take them here. You can dine al fresco, but there’s plenty of seating inside as well. Fried Mozzarella with Marinara [$ 7] The GF’s a bit of a nut for mozzarella sticks and thankfully Santucci’s were clearly homemade. Fresh, creamy mozzarella was coated with a nice breading studded with Italian seasonings. The tangy, sweet marinara was the perfect complement. Grilled Chicken Sandwich [$ 9] Grilled chicken, mild provolone, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, mayo Being the odd person out, the GF was more in the mood for a sandwich. The grilled chicken was good — great provolone, good seasoning on the chicken, and crusty bread. For me though, the sandwich ate slightly dry — it needed a bit more mayo and the bread to meat ratio was a bit skewed. You get a choice of hand-cut or sweet potato fries and the GF went with the latter. The sea salt was the perfect accent to the sweetness of the crisp fries. The Works Square Pizza — Medium [$ 13] Extra cheese, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, onions For the rest of us though? We knew to get the square pizza. With the works no less. The creamy base of mozzarella was a nice contrast against the crispy, thin-crust dough, which was seasoned nicely with salt. The tangy, sweet marinara went swimmingly against the spicy Italian sausage, salty pepperoni, and the freshness of the mushrooms, green peppers, and onions. It’s all about the corners for me — and I had 3 of them. My greed game is good. Keep in mind — Santucci’s is cash only. And the only way Santucci’s could improve upon their pizza? Delivery to Fairmount — stat! South Philly clearly has it in spades with the affordable, fresh, and delicious options at Santucci’s. Not surprising considering it’s right by Italian Market!

The best!!! We typically get the works pizza and recently tried the veggie works. It was perfect for our veg friends. We’ve also tried making our own white pizza. The one weird thing is that they didn’t have garlic to add onto the pizza. We had cheese, extra cheese, onion, tomato and spinach. Perfect. Definitely will continue to order more pizza.

Our book club ordered from here because it was Friday and who really wants to cook after a long week?! I’m not exactly sure how long we waited once the order was placed, but my friend who did the ordering did utter«Where is the pizza?» a few times, leading me to believe that delivery is not super fast at Santucci’s on a Friday night. Once the pie finally arrived, it was definitely worth the wait. We got the tomato pie and one with veggies. Both were delicious. I would definitely like to hit up the actual restaurant soon and see how dining in compares to delivery.

Ignoring the whole cheese on the bottom issue most people seem to discuss, let’s review the restaurant and the pizza on it’s own. The pizza is square, and the cheese is under the sauce; not your usual presentation. The sauce is a bit on the sweet side for my taste, and it’s a little thicker than you’d normally have on a traditional pizza, so it’s very heavy on the tomato taste. The cheese being underneath is a low moisture mozzarella, cut into large pieces rather than the traditional shredded type. It creates a thick and goey string of cheese when you bite into it… well, assuming you get the pie hot. Both times we got delivery, ours was barely luke warm in the middle and the cheese was already cold and lost it’s elasticity. The crust is a bit on the greasy side, as if it came out of a cast iron pan like a deepdish. I ordered delivery twice, once on a weekend night when hungry, and once on a Sunday morning with a small hangover(when you really want a good slice of pizza!). Given the temperature, I felt like I was eating a giant mozzarella stick covered in a tomato dipping sauce. Not much flavor difference when you close your eyes and taste the greasy crust, thick and solid pieces of cheese, and abundance of sweet sauce. The french fries(ordered twice) were awesome hand cut and fresh fried to a deep brown color. You open the box and just know these are gourmet thinner cut with a slight char on the outside and going to be crispy skins with a moist and soft interior. Seasoned perfectly with a bit of sea salt, this is everything you want your fries to be… until you bit into one and realize they are cold and soggy and lacking salt or any other seasoning. It’s like they came out of a fryer and then sat in a sealed plastic bag getting soggy and cooling off for a few hours. Maybe the inshop dining experience is much better and at the right temperature and right of the oven dishes are worthy of the praise most seem to lay onto Santucci’s, however I’ll never know because after two bad meals I’d rather forget, I’m not going to waste a third trekking to your shop. If you’ve got a great product that just doesn’t travel well, don’t cheat your consumers just to make a few extra bucks with delivery service, have some standards and control over the eating experience your consumers are getting! 1 pizza, 1 order of fries and delivery with tip comes to about $ 25. Kind of expensive if it were gourmet and worthy. WAY overpriced given the quality we received. You’d be better off ordering from Domino’s and spending less than half as much.

I was first introduced to Santucci’s at the Best of Philly event in July 2014. Their square Sicilian-esque pizza made them one of my favorite vendors. I thought I was about to sample a tomato pie, however at first bite I discovered the delicious mozzarella cheese hidden below a generous layer of sauce. Dining partner, myself, and two others came to Santucci’s on a Saturday night around 7:30. There were a few open tables and we were seated as we arrived. The four of us enjoyed a medium works pizza and medium cheese pizza. The pizza was better than I remembered. We ordered just enough to fill us and leave no leftovers. Because it’s a BYOB we came prepared with two bottles of red, which was the perfect compliment. When we finished the pizza and the wine, the bill arrived and the total for the the evening was only 26 bucks! So cheap and affordable and a great place to eat and drink with friends.

We stumbled upon santuccis one night after wanting a low key dinner by the house. Boy did we hit the jackpot. The home made gnocchi were some of the best I ever had and the antipasto board was fresh and so BIG for the price. We actually went home with left overs! What restaurant can you go to and leave with left overs this day and age? We had revisited santuccis and the octopus we ordered off the specials was improperly executed and tasted fishy to the point we could not eat it. It was taken back. We still live santuccis for the staple items, but specials should not run if they can not be executed
