In my youth… this was the one place that let anybody run in and buy 40s to go. Back then, there was a faithful crowd of working stiffs getting loose and winos trying to get stiff, but just like 38th Street, it was a royal diving line from University City and West Philadelphia. Nonetheless, it was never a place anybody wanted to stay and unwind.
Last year, there were three different shootings out front of here… which tells me that matters got worse, making Scooter’s the sort of spot you’ll want to scoot away from.
