I like the atmosphere. Beware! Make an appointment because it’s very very rare that they’ll except walk-ins because of the popularity of the salon. They’re always so busy! I love Erin(Ellie is her nick name). She is a popular stylist there. She even had an app to book appointments. It’s called ‘Hair by Ellie.’ She always does my hair really well and she’s fast and efficient! Can never go wrong when you’re here!

This is the best salon that I’ve been to. They are friendly, good at what they do, and the services are affordable. My stylist was Katelyn, she did an ombré on my long, thick hair which was probably a pain! She didn’t mind though. She took good care of my hair, especially since there was some initial damage from using boxed dye. My hair looked amazing after I left the salon and has been in such better condition ever since. :) I’ll be back for sure.

I finally decided to try a neighborhood salon –I’ve always gone to a Center City place, but have grown tired of a long commute back & forth, when I could just go to somewhere that’s 5mins from my house — but I was worried. so many places around here look like it’s 1985& I don’t need to rock a frosted mullet. Well, consider me a convert to The Shampoo Bar Salon!!! A-mazing!!! I absolutely LOVE the cut I got from Megan!!! The place has a nice modern look, everyone there was professional & so nice, and Megan totally knew what would work well to deal with my(crappy, limp, uncooperative) hair! I’m so happy! — I can’t wait to go back in 8 weeks for a good maintenance trim! Port Richmond Win!!!

I went to this salon because a friend of mine has been going there for years. I walked in there(super cute décor), was greeted by Andrea(super cute too) and had to fill out a card. She had me sit in her chair and asked me what I wanted. I told her I wanted my recently dyed red hair back to blonde! She didn’t even bat an eye knowing full well how much work this was going to be! She went over the color chart and we picked out my new hues. She patiently stripped my hair twice and the applied my colors. After my wash out and trim I was the EXACT blonde goddess I envisioned myself to be!!! I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks yet not paying anywhere near that. I am thrilled and this salon has a new client. The hubby was thrilled!!! Definitely recommend this salon!!!

Shampoo Bar is a terrific salon! You do not have to go to Center City to get the latest styles without paying Center City prices! Andrea, Kelly, Missy, Theresa, and Megan take time to ask you about what you want out of your experience, not what they want! They treat all of their clients with great respect, whether it is a child or a grandmother. New clients and long-time clients get the same level of care and respect, and no one is rushed through a styling or color! I do not understand those who made complaints. Shampoo Bar is a quality salon with strong roots in the community! I recommend their services to anyone!

I had a similar experience to the Rebecca S. I went through the same circles trying to redeem my deal find voucher– no one called me back etc… But I DID finally get an appointment. I am sorry I did! The mani/pedi part of my experience(the only part I stayed for) was so awful I thought I was being punked. Seriously. The polish on my toes was clumpy and there was cotton from the nailpolish remover stuck in there. I was so dumbfounded I couldn’t even say anything. I then waited for 20 minutes upstairs for my facial, finally giving up and making an excuse to leave just to get the hell out! I have never dealt with them for hair, but DONOT go their for any nail services! What a waste!

I am really glad that I came to Shampoo… I moved to this area a little while ago and my old stylist is now an hour and a half away, so I needed somewhere new and am glad I found it. I was completely thrilled because I called and got an appointment for the same day for a cut and highlights, which in my book is a godsend since my schedule is erratic. My stylist was Theresa and I really liked her. Like Mallory said they really do take the time to discuss what you want to do with your hair. She even took the time to explain to me the different types of highlighting methods which I was unaware of… but anyhow she really did a good job with the consult and listened. She had a very pleasant demeanour and the time passed quickly… My hair looked great afterwards as well… and I can’t say about the price for the neighborhood since this is the first place I’ve been down here, but it was significantly less than what I had been expecting! Great place… give it a go

I purchased a voucher for Shampoo Bar Salon and Spa from Dealfind a few months ago. The voucher clearly states«no expiration date». I have called the Shampoo Bar four times, and each time they stated they don’t have any openings for quite awhile and that they will«call me back». Needless to say, they have never called me back despite repeated phone calls. The last time I called, the person on the phone stated that«the girl who set up this voucher isn’t here anymore and that has created a problem.» Well, darling, let me educate you about something. It doesn’t matter if that person is there or not. The voucher I have is a contract that creates an obligation which you are duty-bound to fulfill. A sustainable society is based on people and companies fulfilling their promises and obligations. When people and companies simply all begin deciding that they just don’t feel like honoring an obligation, that is a sign of the beginning of society’s downfall and collapse. Suppose all companies just started deciding that they weren’t in the mood to provide an agreed-upon and purchased service. There would be chaos, wouldn’t there? Kindergarten rules: When you make a promise, you keep it.

Went back for a haircut with Erin last week. She did a great job. No complaints! Be advised — their credit card machine doesn’t allow for tips anymore. Bring cash for your stylist!

Yesterday was my 2nd time going to the Shampoo Bar, and I officially love it! Yes, it is the most expensive place in the neighborhood, but the stylists really go the extra mile to make sure you get your money’s worth. I was really sick of stylists that do whatever they want to your head without listening to the customer. Shampoo Bar is not like that at all. I am very indecisive when it comes to my hair. The stylist worked with me to find a style & color I liked. She even took the time to show me how to style it myself. As I mentioned, they are pricey. But they run a lot of specials… I actually received $ 20 off my services that I wasn’t expecting. Great salon! I will be returning.
