The most gracious customer service I have ever encountered. A gift ordered by a dear friend arrived with damage. When I called the shop, the owner immediately offered to send me a replacement item and an additional piece to compensate for my inconvenience. The pieces are Patience Brewster ornaments — uniquely elegant whimsy. I would recommend SHOWOFHANDS for their brilliant curated inventory and stellar customer focus. A rare and charming amalgam

I lived next door to Show of Hands for over a year, but it took me nearly 6 months to venture inside — the front window was always filled with beautiful art objects(gorgeous hand-pained glass fish, metal sculptures, tribal masks) and I figured that I, being somewhat clumsy, would surely break something upon entering, and would then be forced to pay pretty much my life savings to replace such a priceless object. Luckily, I ventured inside anyway and was thrilled to discover the beautiful objects inside were not ONLY exquisitely crafted, but reasonably priced as well — I bought a vase for my boyfriend’s parents for just $ 25 once, and frequently stop by ASOH now to pick up unusual treasures you can’t find anyplace else. The owner is the sweetest man ever, and always encourages you to «feel free to handle whatever you like»(if only he knew!) and will regale you with tales of a piece’s creation and journey… INSIDERTIP! Each year, after Christmas, all ornaments are 50% off. GOCHECKTHEMOUT, because I swear, this store has the most beautiful ornaments I’ve ever seen.

Similar to SOTA, its neighbor to the west, Show of Hands features original work by what I believe are mostly local artists. It’s a bit more artsy(and less crafty) than SOTA, featuring items such as gorgeous vases, sculptures and textiles. Expect to drop some dough for your one-of-a-kind purchase; just look at it as an investment in what will surely become a showpiece in your home.
