Five stars for Dr. Veasey herself(she’s a sleep specialist, a subcategory that Unilocal doesn’t have), and three stars for the sleep center office staff, which averages out to four. I moved away from Philly recent, but Dr. Veasey was my doctor for the last two years. She was terrific. I only saw her twice a year, but she was always really focused and attentive in those appointments and always remembered me(or always had good enough notes that she seemed to remember me, which is just fine in my book). She is extraordinarily responsive. Once, when I was distraught and frantic because I was having trouble getting a prescription filled(I was traveling in New York, where the prescription regulations are different), she even gave me her cell phone number, and she stayed on the case until I got my meds. Dr. Veasey is quoted in articles about new sleep research all the time, and she mentioned she has kids, so I don’t know how she manages to devote so much time to her patients. Presumably sleep doctors sleep? The Penn Sleep Center office staff is your typical overworked Philly medical office staff. It’s a big operation; there’s a long phone tree to get through to get to a live person; they transfer you from one person to the next and send you to voicemail; they’re definitely not speedy. They’ll get stuff done, eventually, especially if you follow up, but don’t expect prompt and personal service. Dr. Veasey is well worth it nonetheless.
