This place sucks. They made us wait in line saying that it was at full capacity but bouncers would let people they know in so I’m not sure how that works. Do not recommend.

Was here once in a weeknight evening. Excellent atmosphere and unique sandwiches. We did not have the pizza but it looked great!

I went to Smith’s just for late night drinks(no food) on a Wednesday night with friends. I liked that it was a place you could have a conversation in without yelling and not too crowded. So, not a great Saturday night fun spot, but a cool low-key meet up spots for friends mid week.

Strong martinis and good flatbread! Smith is one of my works go-to when we’re tired of Continential. It has a nice selection of sandwiches and salads all of which are good. The flatbread is probably the best food item there and you can’t go wrong on which kind because they’re all good. The other appetizers are to expectations. Drinks are affordable but don’t expect a crazy long draft list. On Friday and Saturday nights, Smiths is basically a dance bar. The one side has a DJ and they use the space as a dance floor. They play 90s music and main stream, so you’ll have a nice time.

I came here with a group of friends for a few drinks, and start a tab They try to turn it into a «dance club» which really doesn’t work well with their setup/bar design. I order a few drinks and as we go to leave, ask for my card, giving my first and last name. They say we have no one with that name, but we do have [different first name than mine] card on tap. I’m fairly sure that someone else has the same last name, and was given my card.

Getting the urge to go out and dance? Smiths is your place. Hands down the best DJ in center city, with a great mix of new pop songs and throwbacks to sing your heart out to. The dancefloor definitely gets crowded, but in a good way. I have experienced very attentive service from the bartenders on Friday and Saturday nights, regardless of the volume. I love how there is an upper bar area that if you need to cool it on the dance moves for a bit, you can find a place to sit and relax. Honestly, this place might be my favorite, especially for a Girls Night Out where you just want to have a lot of fun!

I can’t believe I’ve never written a review for Smith’s. Definitely one of my top 5 bars in Philly. First time I came here, I“ll never forget… Ja Rule was blasting and I knew I would fall in love with this bar. Good crowd, good staff and good service. Music is always good here. I’ve never had a bad time here and the bouncers dig me so that’s always a plus *wink wink. This is definitely my go to bar for a good girls night out. I ate here ONCE but I was very intoxicated but from what I remember the food was good!

I came here to watch my Patriots beat the Chiefs on Saturday afternoon.
This place is packed during Patriots games. All seating full and tight for standing. On the day I visited, the staff was very good at constantly checking on our table and promptly bringing out drinks and food. If you’re a Pats fan and want a place to watch the game, come to Smith’s. You’ll love it.

Had the cheesesteak rolls. More spice than flavor. Crust was a bit stale. Great ambiance for a Pats game though!

The food was good but not the service. No napkins the whole night. Forgot the appetizer and drinks were hard to come by. I think I could have gotten past all of it until we had to wait for the check, and wait, and wait. Then, she had to pull the old(don’t come back for the cash so they won’t ask for change) Actually I was just finishing my drink… I did only leave 15%, I usually leave 20% if service is good. If it had taken any longer than it did, I was going to ask for change. All three of us agreed no going back.

Ended up heading to Smiths after Logan Square Tap Room around the corner wasn’t open on Christmas Eve. It was a smaller venue but perfect atmosphere for a few drinks. The bartender was a younger Irish lad with an authentic accent for this Irish Pub. My date and I shared a few draughts at a hightop table. There was bar seating as well as a back room that we didn’t check out. While we were there they were accomodating to a group of 16 on a bar crawl that showed up. Even though the one bartender was a little overwhelmed(As was the bottle of Fireball due to constant use by the bar crawl), everyone was cordial and pleasant. Drinks were always flowing and we’ll definitely consider going back.

I’ve been to Smiths a few times for drinks, Sips and happy hour. They have a decent beer list with some local craft selections and an «upscale» bar menu. The happy hour beer and food specials are pretty good for the price. The appetizers and sandwiches I have had there were all decent, but nothing was mind blowing. Smiths is a solid spot for happy hour, and if you get there early enough it won’t be crowded. It does get packed later into the evening and I’ve heard that it is really crowded late night, with a crazy dance floor. Who knew?! I have nothing bad or exceptional to say about Smiths, so it is getting an «A-OK» 3-star review from me.

Danced my face off here on the Friday night before Halloween, and loved every second of it. Can’t comment on too many details, except the dance floor was bumpin and it was awesome. There’s sometimes a crazy line outside, but from what I remember it was fun enough to justify said line. I also have eaten here once, a long time ago, and cannot for the life of me remember what I ate so it couldn’t have been too great, or too terrible.

I’ve been corralled here several times, and I always just groan to myself when it’s mentioned as the next destination. Smith’s is in competition for my all-time least favorite bar in the city. One time I asked someone to repeat whatever he was saying so many times that I whipped out the Notes app on my phone and wrote: «I have no idea what you’re saying. Please type it.» He blinked at me and walked away, so we’ll never know what super-exciting thing the dude was saying. I’d surely have a different opinion of the place if 1) I could hear the people near me over the crowd noise; 2) If I cared about sports or dancing; 3) If they had some creative beer options. I’ve been for Sips(EEEP), late at night, and later-late at night, and none of the experiences have been pleasant. They do have decent bathrooms, though. I’d like to find something positive about the place other than the bathrooms, but so far, no luck.

I was in Rittenhouse looking for somewhere to dine and passed this place. It seemed like an option until I saw the Caitlyn Jenner«joke» sign others have posted, which was grossly offensive to say the least. I actually called them about it the next day and they said they’d taken it down after the first complaint and apologized. I thought they were sincere but I’ve since come to learn that they put up a new«joke» every day, and they are often incredibly offensive. Numerous ones have been rape jokes, like: «Pick up line of the day: ask your date, ‘hey does this rag smell like chloroform?’» So this lets me know they AREN’T sorry, and they think this kind of thing is okay. Obviously I will never set foot inside.

Just keep walking! Terrible service. Falsely advertising unlimited mimosas that the waiter knew nothing about. Out of waffles. Sausage that looked and tasted like a burnt turd. Took forever for our drinks to come, lipstick marks on the glass. Good finally vane. Pancakes served with no butter or syrup. Waited until they got cold for it to arrive. Syrup tasted watered down. Served our orange juice in a tall cup so it spilled as we tried to pour it. No butter or jam with the toast. Potatoes were cold and mediocre at best. Horrible horrible food experience. Just keep walking.

This is our go-to Sunday football viewing bar. We love Ashley the bartender who always remembers us and takes some time to chat each time. The food is alright, I would suggest getting the pizza if you are hungry. Best to come here at an off time as it gets very busy around happy hour or Sat evenings.

Great live music on Saturday night, such a talent. This is a hidden gem, like most places in Philly the curb appeal is not going to pull you in, though much cleaner appearance than the average place, however once inside you will be pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was kind and multitasked well between the bar and our table. The food came quickly our drinks stayed full. This was a perfect place to start an evening out.

My wife and I have been«living» in the Embassy suites waiting on our movers to deliver our stuff — relocating from TN. We Unilocaled to see what was close to the hotel on an awesome warm Wednesday night and we saw the listings for Smiths. I’m going 5 stars here because I was impressed… it’s probably a legitimate 4 star joint, but count me in at pleasantly surprised. Plenty of bar space with 2 bars and lots of tables. Bartenders were friendly and very attentive — let us sample some draft before we decided. Beers were good and cold with a decent selection. The food was damn fine for a bar — maybe better than fine for a bar. It was really good. We ate a black peppered tuna appetizer — which was delicious! For dinner wifey had a Mahi salad — Brussel slaw, kale with mustard vinaigrette — said it was great. I munched a chop salad — chicken and the works chopped with a cilantro dressing — excellent salad. Prices were reasonable with specials every day — tonight was $ 5 chicken nacho night which looked ample and decadent. The flatbreads looked good as well… crispy thin and huge — size of a large pizza anywhere else. Go there… you’ll dig it… cool atmosphere and a great spot to stop for a drink and a bite.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I always thought it looked a little divy, but it’s actually pretty nice inside. It’s a good place to have a few beers and watch the game. They usually have specials on beer during the game, and one of them is a craft beer for $ 4. Note: this is a Patriots bar, so don’t root against the Pats here. I came here for the Super Bowl, and there was a lone Seahawks fan who felt a little out of place. Also, it gets pretty packed here for games, so make sure to get here early to get a table. I’ve had to stand the whole game, and that’s just no fun. They also have decent happy hour specials M-F 5 – 7. $ 1 off drafts and half price wings, guac, and nachos. The guac is actually good. And their mushroom and truffle pizza is amazing. I couldn’t believe that pizza was made at a sports bar.

A convenient post-work happy-hour spot, Smiths Restaurant and Bar offered: — warmth(except right by the door, which was definitely gusty as patrons came and went); — atmosphere in the form of a mixture of business guys, frat-ty guys, and south Philly guys(and yes, most patrons seemed to be male) and a musician(arrived ~7:30PM); — hot food, of which the boneless buffalo wings were the best(more like bite-sized nuggets than wings) with a crisp on the exterior, though the pizza had an awesome super-thin crust(slightly salty) and the guacamole was pleasant(a bit bland – where’s the heat? the tang?); — drink specials on par with bars in Center City; and — pleasant service by both the circulating wait staff and the bartenders(polite and quick to provide drinks).

Located a block away from work is Smith’s, which gained some notoriety back in 2012 over the jokes that they had on display. The jokes remain, but luckily, they’re now a tad less«abusive.» So recently after work, the GF and I got together for happy hour. Happy Hour Nachos [$ 5 $ 4.50] The menu listed these nachos for $ 5, but we were charged only $ 4.50 — who can complain about that? Better yet — this showcased a bed of house-fried tortilla chips and a nice mélange of cilantro, onions, and peppers. This was all interspersed with shredded chicken and spicy nacho cheese. Do get these. Signature Salad [$ 11] Tomato, warm bacon, cucumber, red onion, signature dressing, goat cheese medallion The GF went with the signature salad, which was huge and provided a healthy helping of greens, onions, cucumbers, and tomato. Some bacon and a huge goat cheese medallion brought this over the top with salty and tangy flavors. The accompanying pita was a bit salty and a tad dry, but for $ 11, this wasn’t bad at all. Signature Burger [$ 12] 8 oz. Angus beef, avocado, smoked bacon, cheddar, grilled brioche, signature aioli I had previously had the burger here with some coworkers and wasn’t disappointed. So, I went with it again. I requested it medium-rare and though it came out medium, it was still juicy and nicely salt-crusted. The fresh avocado, thick-cut bacon, cheddar, and fried onions helped to create one savory bite. The potato brioche held together well despite the sheer heft. The burger came with the choice of a salad or fries and since I’m not a rabbit, I went with the crispy, salty fries, which were served in a cute pail. So if you’re in the Rittenhouse area looking for bar eats, don’t hesitate to check out Smith’s. They’ve got good eats, decent HH prices, and there’s plenty of seating as well.

I’ve patronized Smiths for years, but less recently as I’ve gotten older and the thought of squeezing myself through throngs of half-drunk twenty somethings has become unappealing. Went here recently for a work party and they had a nice spread of food. The pizza was decent — thin crust always wins in my book! The space is small for any large groups and we were cramped in a back area that was in direct line of the kitchen and the bathrooms. I felt like I was always in the way of servers and people trying to squeeze past to the restrooms. Probably the thing I enjoy most about Smiths is when I’m not physically inside, but riding my bike past and seeing the hilarious quotes on the blackboard. Whoever comes up with those is pure genius. Overall, if you’re in the area and just want to grab a quick drink, I wouldn’t rule Smiths out. But if you’re craving a meal, there are much better establishments in the area serving pub fare.

They rope you in with clever chalkboard jokes, and keep you around with reasonably priced brewskies and a pretty nice bar setup. I’ve noshed on a few pizzas in the past and some bar snacks, nothing stood out. And maybe that’s exactly how I feel about Smiths. Pretty nice, and nothing stands out. On a recent visit, there was a very poorly masked stench covered up with about 3 Glade plug-ins in an apple cinnamon scent. The result was none too pleasant, sort of like if Bath and Body Works also sold rotten eggs. I guess that stood out…

Ummm, been here 3 times in 6 days(as you can see from my check-ins), so it’s safe to say that I love this place! I came here for happy hour, Saturday brunch, and Monday Night Football, and each venture was enjoyable! Previously have been on weekend nights and it’s a partyyyy at Smiths lol so packed. Smiths is a typical Philly bar with a typical menu, but what makes it stand out is its ambiance and crowd. Dark wood and soft lighting with accents of bright color from football club scarves paint the rooms and create a neutral background that allows Smiths to effortlessly switch from party party Saturday night to brunchin with the crew on Sunday to yelling at the TV during MNF at the bar. Different from other bars that are very sports bar-y or Irish bar-y, one note, etc. The food is aiight! Good prices. The classic flatbread pizza is delishhhhh and yes, it’s a flatbread, but it’s actually realllyyy flat so it’s as big as a car wheel LOL. Apparently this always shocks people. The turkey chili is a featured item currently, only $ 8.00 and really good! $ 4.00 mimosas for brunch as well, mmhmm. Service each time I have been has been good. It can get packed on Fri/Sat night though, so beware! I really enjoyed coming here for football. They have two rooms and keep the game on in one room and play music in the other room if you don’t care for sports. I even love just walking by this place just to see what they have written on their sign outside. Check this place out!

First time coming for brunch because I heard it was really good. And they were right! Stolina(?) was our waitress and manning the whole side of the bar and yet was friendly and very efficient. Props! I ordered the mahi mahi corn salad… without the mahi mahi lol. #vegetarianprobz it was delicious! For $ 10, the salad was fresh and extremely filling. The corn was grilled and not just canned corn and you could tell it came straight off the cob. Cilantro dressing potently flavored. Had a slice of my friends«classic» pizza which is a margarita pizza and superrr good. Def coming again for the mushroom truffle pizza! Mimosas are only $ 4 holla! Can’t wait to come back for food
