I rented a house from Oksana from 2007 – 2010 and never had one single problem. In fact every time I move I contact her first to see if she has anything available. Because it was just renovated we had to work with PGW just at the very beginning, which you would after any renovations, and in 3 years we never had a problem. I wish I could always rent from her the house was GREAT and properly priced for the neighborhood it was in.

Oksana Chomenko is a slumlord, plain and simple. She is neglectful and abusive. I requested a fire exit and her response was a retalitory eviction notice which is illegal. She continues to refuse to provide a fire exit(which would have been available had she not boarded it up). She continues to send threats, even though I have lived here for three years and have always paid my rent on time. She owns 30 poorly flipped properties in Point Breeze and very clearly only cares about the revenue, not the people. DONOTRENT from this woman.

South of Center LP runs a convincing operation. An architecturally trained owner from Mother Russia, an office in Old City on 2nd and Chestnut, low priced properties in seemingly, up and coming neighborhoods, newly«renovated» kitchen and baths fast and speedy response to small maintenance projects. DONOTBEDECIEVED. Its owner is known for being unreasonably delusional both by her tenants and her former handy men. While trying to con you into moving into their partially finished properties early(as a convenience to you, the tenant) under the moniker that they are«newly renovated», they fail to inform you that the plumbing wasn’t tested(and your shower may leak from the second floor onto your new dining table on the first floor), or that the property was a former funeral home(this is awesome if you like the smell of embalming fluid in the morning), or that there may be water in the basement on occasion — which is highlighted in their Craigslist adds as «Clean and dry». They may also try to unexpectedly evict you if you inform them that you would like to move out because the place is way too expensive to heat in the winter and give them three weeks notice(which in this city is plenty of time and can be negotiated amicably if it isn’t). Make sure you inspect the windows and quality of the renovations if you do decide to move into one of their properties. Also watch for frequent changes in the rent price on their Craigslist ads. They like to post a low price then raise it when you sign the lease. You get what you pay for.
