Spa Bavu

My husband surprised me with a massage, steam-​bath and express facial for my birthday this year and lets just say this experience was the best birthday gift I’ve ever received. Let me just say my skin felt like butter. Actually my husband use those exact words to describe my skin. This was my first time ever having a massage, and I cant wait to make my next appointment at Spa Bavu! Diana took care of me and made me feel welcomed and extremely comfortable. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt like we were old friends.

Went here with an Amazon Local deal (which I forgot to print out, but Diana was very patient in letting me pull it up on my ipod instead) for a body scrub. I didn’t really know what that would entail, but I found out. It’s basically having her give you a bath with a salt/​sugar scrub, then enclosing you in a heated tent (like literally, except your head is out of it). Sound weird? It is. But the steam forms condensation (hello, 3^rd grade science!) which drips on you in the tent and then makes your skin super soft. It was definitely an experience, and they have regular spa treatments too, so don’t get freaked out.
Here’s the kicker: the spa is actually in a little office on the floor of another series of offices (which I gathered belonged to a law firm), so if you’re looking for the traditional spa experience, that’s not what you’ll find. However, I seem to remember them saying something about it being a temporary space, so maybe they’re moving to a more spa-​like environment. My tone may imply that I wasn’t very impressed, but Diana is super nice and accommodating, and she actually was able to schedule me on short notice, even near the end of the deal’s expiration date. I’ll have to try another treatment, and maybe that will bump it up to 5 stars.

I went to Spa Bavu for a hour hot stone massage, Thanks to my brother for giving me a voucher to go. The massage was great. Diane was very friendly and welcoming, made me feel like I was at home. I will definitely return to try some of their other services.

Although it can be a little difficult to get through to schedule an appointment, don’t let that deter you — this is a great little spot to get away from it all! I eventually emailed them and they were quick to respond in that medium. This is a family run business with truly great service. Although you won’t get all the amenities of some other spas, the facilities were very clean, and Diane did an amazing job. She was very attentive and very strong — definitely the best massage I’ve had in ages! I also had an express facial which left me feeling refreshed. By the time I left, I felt like I was leaving friends, and I will surely be back to pay them a visit!

The service is here is amazing. From the moment I bought gift cards for friends to the moment I stepped into this fine establishment… the service was nothing but divine. The owner Diane is a wonderful lady and her knowledge on facials, massages and skincare is very insightful. My masseus (forgot her name) was outstanding. The atmosphere is so delightful and the only drawback is when we went we had planned to get manis and pedis but the individuals who offer those services were both out due to a family emergency and vacation. Besides that… everything was great and even with that, Diane’s sister was great about calling us in advanced and letting us know.
Get the pumzikio (swedish massage) and the steam bath… whew…you’ll come out glowing!
