Stanton Cleaners has been located on Manayunk Avenue for 31 years. And with good reason! The establishment provides customers with excellent service and make any article of clothing as clean as when purchased off of the rack. They are also quick and fast, too.
I came to Stanton’s to drop off a suit to attend an event with my new wife Tonya M.‘s family. Specifically, it was her niece’s quinciera. Tonya M. had been estranged with her family for some time due to her jail stint for committing voter fraud. She was under pressure from her employer at the time to help rig a school board election. However, she served her time and is now committed to justice. She is my white-​winged dove.
The event was wonderful as I feel the ice has been melted with Tonya M.‘s family. Her lovely niece recently invited me to join her cell phone minutes plan, which was truly a great moment. I understand the difficulties of joining a family late in life. My own twin sons Bradley and Bryan (aka B’n’B) have had their difficulties handling my divorce with my ex-​wife Cynthia, as well as her new husband Doug, a prominent water fitness instructor (and good guy).
Relationships and famiilies are complicated in this modern age. I am, however, quite thankful that our respective families are open with each other and willing to adapt to these changes.
I would recommend Stanton 1 Hour Cleaners to anyone in the Manayunk-​Roxborough neighborhoods looking to have a suit cleaned so they can make a good impression with the estranged extended family of his new wife.

I recently brought my daughter’s wedding dress and my own (30 years old) for cleaning and preservation. I did a lot of research before deciding who I would entrust with this task. I read plenty of reviews for various cleaners, and decided Stanton clearly had the best reputation for this sort of thing. The owner (and the rest of his family) was very kind and did a fabulous job with both dresses. My daughter’s dress was very dirty on the bottom, and they worked hard to continue spraying and trying to get the stains out. The entire experience was positive and satisfying. I would recommend Stanton to anyone looking to have their very important wedding dresses cleaned and preserved.

thank you for saving my dress. i was a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding this month. i bought my original dress from David’s Bridal back in June. I took it to a custom tailor in Roxborough to get altered. I need the top taken in around the bust and the shoulder straps shortened. Basically, the tailor woman at this other place ruined my dress two weeks before the wedding. I had to rush order another dress and find some place to get it altered quickly and relatively cheaply since i was already in over $ 300 for two dresses plus alterations.
i brought my second dress to Stanton on a Thursday evening, explained the situation and the owner was more than accommodating. he took the time to listen to what i wanted done and assured me it would be ready by the wedding in less than two weeks. he called me twice to update me on the progress of alterations, had me come in once to try the dress on before he actually started sewing it. it was a life saver. his alterations made the dress completely wearable and put me at ease during a stressful time of being in my best friend’s wedding.

I cannot understand why this place gets great reviews. I have used this place for my dress shirts for about a year and cannot say how many times my shirts were returned with broken buttons or no buttons at all. I kept thinking it would get better but after getting back brand new shirts with broken buttons I will never return. I do not buy cheap shirts and this place has caused nothing but headaches. Stay clear of using this place for dress shirts.

Who knew finding a dry cleaner could be so difficult? After one incredibly trying day attempting to find a dry cleaner with on-​site cleaning, I found Stanton. They are fabulous! They offer a SUPER quick turnaround, because, let’s face it, it can be really hard to plan ahead sometimes. The staff is always courteous and our things come back in fantastic condition. Even if I ever get my sh*t together, I’m fairly certain Stanton will still be our go-​to place. Thanks so much, y’all!

Solid cleaners. Reasonably priced and get your clothes done in a reasonable amount of time. One of the better ones in the neighborhood.

This is the best dry cleaner in the neighborhood. I needed a suit cleaned and a shirt pressed fast on a Saturday morning for a wedding later that day. They had everything back to me in less than an hour. Nice work, great people.

I’ve used Stanton for both dry cleaning and tailoring and it’s not only quick, but the service is friendly and the prices are right. I had a dress that was purchased online and came in too big, so I took it to Stanton and he did an excellent job with the alterations. I will be returning shortly for another dress alteration!

Stanton Cleaners is our go to and it is amazing! My husband and I moved near Stanton 2 years ago and have had only positive experiences. Jack and his staff are friendly, attentive and keep their word. Jack has tailored bridesmaid dresses, skirts, shirts and more for me; a tuxedo, suits, suit jackets for my husband; and home items too — our down comforter came back like new! We have had a very positive experience every time we go and Jack always follows thru on the crazy timeframes we give him — ie a dress needed tailored for a Saturday wedding, given on a Wednesday. Nothing but smiles and good conversation from Jack. We definitely recommend! :)

Nice and small dry cleaning place in Manayunk. The tailor is a bit pricy though here compared to the one I normally go in Chinatown. Overall, it is average.

I’ve been coming to Stanton Cleaners for years. It’s the only place I trust with my clothes. Not only are the prices great, but the quality and service are the best I’ve experienced anywhere.
Jack, his family, and his staff are hard working, friendly, and true professionals. They’ve never made a single mistake on the thousands of items that they’ve cleaned for me and that they’re always happy to rush my order when I need it back fast.
Unlike many «storefront» dry cleaners who send their customers’ clothes out to some dry cleaning mill, Stanton Cleaners handles all of their work on site. Dry cleaning, traditional cleaning, custom tailoring, you name it… they do it all.

My wife and I had to travel to China end of 2014 and I had needed tailoring on my suit since I had gained weight from the last time I wore it for a wedding. The custom tailoring here is awesome, and I am convinced he performed a miracle on that suit to «let it out» as much as was required and saved me from having to buy an entirely new suit!
The price was very reasonable; but more importantly, when I picked up the suit I couldn’t tell where/​how he even did it. The suit looks the same as the day I bought it a couple years ago (i.e. I have no idea where he re-​sewed it).
My wife also often uses their dry cleaning services and we have never had a problem with them. All pieces have always come back in tact, clean, and always on-​time.
For as long as we’re living in this area, Stanton Cleaners will be our go-​to tailor and dry cleaning service!

Not sure what all the hubbub is about. This place is just your average dry cleaner with average prices. From the look of it though tailoring for women’s clothes might be what makes this place top notch?

Excellent quality. I am 4′ 11″ and as such, tailoring is an essential service in my life. This business always seemed very busy and Unilocal reviews confirmed great service. I brought in a Vince Camuto trench coat with silk lining to be hemmed. It was done so quickly and flawlessly. The coat looks so polished and fits beautifully now. The owner was very kind and definitely understood the look I wanted to achieve. I appreciated his speed and professionalism. I recently moved away from the area and I miss this excellent shop very much.

I came here per the great Unilocal reviews in hope of a reasonably priced solid place to tailor a bridesmaid dress. i was tempted to go to chinatown as i’m used to the cheap but quality services that i got back home in california but since it was a special occasion i didn’t want to risk it. it cost $ 50 to take in the top of the dress and then another $ 50 to hem the dress… it felt like a punch in the stomach as this was almost how much my dress cost to begin with but i swallowed hard and settled since im new to the philly area.
the quality of the alteration was actually very good. i came back twice to make sure the fit was just right and the owner of the place modified his work and took some extra areas in to address my concerns and had me bring heels of the right height to make sure the length was ok. i was a bit of a pushover about the length as he kept insisting that he didn’t want me to trip and in the end the dress still seemed a bit too short in my opinion.
my complaints coming from someone really picky would mainly be about the way he handled the dress. though he did ask (and i should have said no i wanted to keep them on) i do wish he didn’t pull the helpful hanger strings (whatever they’re called?) off the strapless dress with such a forceful tearing action in front of my bare eyes. and he hung the dress back on to the hanger for pick up via safety pins right through the gorgeous material. he also forgot to reattach the extra tiny safety clip above the zipper that i pointed out had fallen off. no visible harm done but i felt the silent screaming pain from my beautiful dress, and i later spent over a half hour trying to sew on that clip myself at home when i realized he had forgotten his promise.
overall, a very nice mom and pop shop that does very good tailoring. i’d recommend trying the product on more than at the initial visit to make sure things fit well and to voice what you want as he really will try his best to make his customer happy.
