This starbucks sucks. It took 15 minutes with nobody in line, and I got a $ 5 cup of warm milk– i think they forgot to put the coffee in it. I threw it out. Terrible.

Typical Starbucks. However, this is a University Starbucks. Know this and be warned. Cons –constant line of students –inability to use your rewards(free drinks you got by earning stars). They still do award stars to your account at this location. –inability to scan your phone– they have to literally punch in the numbers off the phone(no scanner) Pros –same great stuff as any other starbucks. –great if you go to school here.

This is run by University of the Sciences dining services, not the Starbucks corporation. As such, they have Summer Hours and close along with university schedules. They do have some of the hot food items now & the workers are great. Be sure to check rather than the Starbucks home page for accurate hours of operation.

This is the Starbucks of my school, USP. I come here a few times a week to satisfy my chai addiction. The staff is usually student based during the semesters. They’re pretty friendly day-to-day. The setup is a little unique. There is a long bar style seating spot by the window, then a large table in the center, and a few small very low tables with uncomfortable chairs. It’s always too boisterous to get any work done here. The downfall is to us starbucks connoisseurs — this location doesn’t offer the rewards benefits. You can still have them enter your numbers and get stars, just not the benefits that come with it.

As always, it’s a Starbucks, and it’s there to please. I go for the Pike’s Place and dress it up with my own cream, sugar, and spices — which makes it much cheaper than the fancy $ 5 a cup brews! This location is usually pretty crowded with USP students studying on their Macs or discussing group projects. It’s a really good location in West Philly, but there are also plenty of good local coffee shops in the area, too!

I actually really like this coffee shop, and I tend not to be a huge fan of Starbucks. But this particular location offers something unique to the neighborhood, and in my opinion, is a huge asset to the neighborhood. The main reason is location: it is the farthest Southwest coffee shop in West Philly. But it also is unique in terms of its atmosphere. I would say this is a «pseudo-Starbucks»: it is in many respects like a normal Starbucks, but it’s a little different, as it is also part of the bookstore for the University of the Sciences. Situated on the edge of the USP campus, this place definitely is evident as a campus coffee shop. The interior is a bit cold and sterile. It has a lot of large tables, both long and wide, which are quite useful for group work. Very high ceilings, very big and open, lots of glass and hard surfaces. The atmosphere is loud and lively. Lots of seating, including stools and a bar facing the window, with a great view of Woodland and 42nd street. Trolleys go by on woodland, which is fun, and like the other reviewer said, this is great for people-watching. I have found the wireless(which is different from the typical Starbucks wireless) to be very reliable. My one complaint? Short hours. This place closes very early and I wish it stayed open later. You can, however, stay camped out in the shop after buying your drink, as they have a nice separation between the storefront and seating area, which makes the hours effectively a little longer. Bottom line? 5 stars. This place may be a Starbucks, but it is still a big asset to the neighborhood, and is also a unique offering in the neighborhood’s selections of coffee shops in many respects.

They’re still getting their stuff together and getting settled in, but it’s a great place for hanging out and people watching. Not the cheapest place to grab coffee around here, but I still find it hard to resist.
