Subway

I apparently interrupted the woman behind the counter in the middle of a FaceTime video call. She stopped talking, but didn’t end the call, so the person on the other end was just hanging out listening to me order my sandwich. It was weird.

I don’t like Subway. I live in Phila. where the hoagie was invented. I would never go to Subway when I have some of the best hoagie bread, meats and hoagie making workers throughout our region — yes, I am a total food snob.
With all that said, when you need to feed some men working in your home and there’s a Subway nearby — well, this Subway location/​franchise is very good. The employees are nice and pleasant — and they make a decent sandwich at a good price. And the place is very clean.

Well, this Subway is just about the same as any other Subway in the world (except for the ones overseas… those are different). I do like this location for its proximity to my apartment as well as the fact that it’s never, ever busy. The location probably isn’t ideal for snagging people on their lunch breaks, but it does make for a fast in-​and-​out experience for the rest of us.
As for the food, it’s Subway. So yeah. It gets the job done, and at a fair price. One thing I will say is that they’re supposed to be open until 10pm every night, yet I’ve gone at like 9:10 or so on two different occasions, only to find them closed up early. I can see the justification, with business being a bit slow and possibly not justifying the overhead required to keep the place open, but still. Poor form. I wouldn’t be surprised if this location doesn’t last.

Even if this were the most amazing breakfast sandwich, I could never give it above 2 stars. Why? For the egg white portion of my sandwich, dude pulled a solid, white pancake-​like object from behind the counter (that was the egg white) and cut it into quarters.
Then he nuked it in the bizarro half microwave-​half monster. When it was all said and done, he forgot to add the Black Forest Ham to my sandwich. The only thing that was probably made out of anything real was the bread. I’ll probably get these every morning though.
