Summerdale does the best custom work I’ve ever had! They’re very exquisite when it comes to design and they pay attention to every small detail! You will not leave this place disappointed! They have been on Frankford avenue forever and they have tons of fabric to choose from! Great place if you want beautiful custom window treatments, upholstery, etc.

This is a great place for curtains, reupolstery and pillow making – real, Old World
craftsmanship and dedication to quality. We have had many things ordered and have always been pleased. They are not inexpensive but are worth the price.

I went to Summerdale for uphostery fabric after visitng several Jo Ann Fabrics locations, and most of the stores on 4^th st. Fabric Row.
Summerdale’s selection was better than any of those, and the service exceeded all my expectations.
I found just the kind of design I was hoping for, at a reasonable price.
A sales person walked me through the store, allowed me to browse on my own, and then gave me very helpful tips on my dining chair re-​cover project. I’d never done this kind of work before, and thanks to Summerdale, my results are very professional –looking.

My mom has used their services for years. They have completely stripped down to the wood and refinished/​repaired a damaged Queen Anne chair and an armchair, and reupholstered it to my mom’s specifications. She had matching curtains made with the fabric of the Queen Anne chair and a window cornice made from the fabric of the armchair.
Later, she had a slipcover made for the Queen Anne and a huge cornice made with the same fabric and she designed the cornice style herself.
She’s had slipcovers made for chair pads for a rocking chair, a sofa, and other chairs.
The people at Summerdale will come out to your home and take measurements on anything. At the shop, they have designers who will help you go through thousands of fabric samples and designs for window treatments and furniture. They aren’t pushy and looking for commissions, they just want to help you.
One thing, though, it can take a long time to get through all the samples, so plan ahead and try not to take little kids with you. There is a table in one of the fabric rooms and some seats, so if you bring a loved one with you, he’ll be able to take a nap. ;-)
Downstairs is their showroom, upstairs is the workshop and I remember being in it once, while they were repairing the one chair. Pretty cool.

Summerdale Mills has been in the same location on Frankford Ave. forever, it seems. Or at least as long as I can remember. This is a great place to get fabrics for curtains or slipcovers, tassels, bedding, window treatments, reupholstering, etc. They will reuhpolster your furniture, help you plan your window treatments (and even custom make them), and give you service with a smile.
