This place blows. If supper knew how to serve supper then they still would be in business. Talk about one of the crappiest locations I have tried to dine in center city. The host and servers were rude and poorly trained. Management was no where to be found. After waiting 45 minutes post our reservation we got out of dodge fast.

came in here on a bar crawl with my man candy and ordered two very delicious drinks. I got a drink with tequila, pineapple shrub, and chili powder/sage simple syrup. Sooo tasty and I couldn’t tell if it was the tequila or the chili powder that gave the kick. Loverboy got a version of a manhattan but it had sage and ginger simple syrup. Mmm, mmm put me in line for another round. My only downfall with this place was that it was absurdly expensive. The tequila in my drink was Montezuma tequila and I’m not sure what whiskey was used. But each cocktail was $ 9 and that’s with the $ 2 off from happy hr. Food looked good and there was an option to chose the three appetizers(hush puppies, deviled eggs, and wings) for $ 12, but we wanted a real meal with big portions so we chose to go somewhere else. Side note, the wings looked amazing!

Wonderful place for brunch! Drinks were tasty, food was incredible(wake n’ cake, Dutchman Benny, Dixie Biscuit and Bacon Babka were ordered at our table), and atmosphere was comfortable. Service was great too… Would come back in a heart beat!

After a year if walking by and talking about trying this restaurant, I finally made a reservation! Came here for restaurant week with a good friend — ladies night :) The staff here are very friendly and welcoming — nothing like service with a smile. I came 15 mins early to my 6:30 reservation and the greeter was kind to give me a glass of water while I waited. When my friend came we quickly decided on what we wanted. The waiter was attentive and timed our food perfectly. We didn’t have to wait long before the next course was ready and coming! How amazing is that? Granted it wasn’t too busy on a Sunday evening but nonetheless. We got the deviled eggs and the hush puppies. I loved the deviled eggs, especially the carrot ginger one. Not a fan of the hush puppies because it’s fried but for people who loved fried foods this may be for you. We had the corn and squash soup(I believe) & a salad. The soup was phenomenal! It reminder me of a cold corn chowder. the salad was very fresh but too salty for my taste. I think my friend and I are sensitive to salty foods so we’d prefer not to get that again. For our third course we got the pork loin chop which was cooked perfectly — juicy and easy to cut .yum! The sauce which was like a barbecue was tastey. We also got the sea bass which had a delicious crispy skin on top of a seasoned grilled corn. yum! Lastly to finish off the night, we had the banana toffee pudding and a peach breadding… correct me if I recalled it wrongly. All in all a great experience. I’d definitely come here again for a date in the future or restaurant week simply because I can’t afford meals like this on a regular basis, but I’m so glad I made the trip!

Supper is great for brunch and dinner. Very casual yet high quality ingredients. There is even an upstairs area that you can rent out. Right across from whole foods so parking is not a problem

The menu is a little short and the pairings may seem a little odd, but its one of those restaurants where everything on the menu is awesome. The first time you come here you’ll try a bite of everyone else’s food at the table and realize as good as your dish is, you wish this was a buffet so you could go back up and try everything… before you finish your first meal here you’re already planning on coming back! Brunch is equally as good, although their famous banana custard french toast is even sweeter than it sounds(but the housemade scrapple is a great savory pairing to tame all that sugar) The deviled eggs change nightly and are always a wild flavor and are what Mitch is most famous for, however the carrot-ginger soup is by far the most memorable and dish most later craved on the menu!

I love the ambiance at this restaurant! It’s a perfect date night spot! I came here with a group of people and everyone liked their food. I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were nice and creamy and the sauce was amazing. The sauce and the shrimp were both nicely seasoned and very«Cajuny» lol. I literally ate the whole bowl :/. Our only complaint was that the server was inattentive and they seemed to be trying to rush us out. Which was odd because the restaurant didn’t close for another hour. Overall, I’d say definitely give this place a try.

Great food. Service was good, but the wait for dinner was little too long for my liking. Lemonade is tart not sweet.

Absolutely phenomenal brunch! Portions are almost too big — hence the 4⁄5 stars. Banana cream pie French toast is to die for as well as Babka & scrapple. Service was excellent. The kitchen accommodated our 4 year old with off the menu scrambled eggs & toast for $ 4! Can’t wait to try dinner :)))

I went here last night with my husband after purchasing a living social deal for $ 60 in return for a 4 course chef tasting for two.(An $ 89 worth) It included 1 app, 2 soups or salads, 2 entrees, 1 dessert. Now as far as ambiance, I’d give a 4. It’s a bit cramped where we sat. Service was about a 3. They came to the table often enough, got our food fairly quickly, but it was a little odd how the servers would eerily peak around the corners to see if we were finished with our course. Awkward. Now as far as food, me and my husband both agree it was a 2. Now we’ve been out to eat before in some pretty nice spots in Philly: R2L, Rose Tattoo Café, Budakan, And this place just wasn’t that good. So we called ahead to make a reservation. I let them know we had a living social deal and what it was for so when we arrived they already had the four course tasting menu out for us to choose from. 1st course. My husband chose the deviled eggs, me, the smoked wings. The deviled eggs were bad. Just really below average. My wings were okay. Im a wings lover and this, I mean, I’ve had better but it wasn’t totally a miss. 2nd course. We both got the cauliflower soup. My husband enjoyed more than I did. I ended up just giving mine to him. If it weren’t for whatever meat they put in the middle, to me, it would have been inedible because the soup lacked flavor. 3rd course. Highlight of the night. My husband got the pastrami fried chicken with grits, I got the shrimp and grits and it was excellent. Very flavorful. My husband’s was also very tasty. If you decide to go, definitely get this. 4th course. Dessert. Our deal included one dessert which was quite alright being that my husband was so stuffed. I got the pie of the week. Chocolate truffle? Can’t remember. And it came with a dollop(spoonful) of ice cream. That was a 3. Nothing really special at all. Just really really rich and difficult to cut into. Our night almost went down the drain completely because my living social app stopped working(though I’d taken it out earlier to show our waiter what our meal included). The voucher was gone! I didn’t panic though because I knew I just had it up. Now this is where I got a little pissed. My waiter knew he saw the voucher yet didn’t say anything to host. Nothing! Not a word. So the host comes over and says unfortunately without the voucher, I can’t charge it as such. You’ll have to pay $ 89. Let me just say, the idea of paying full price for this food was the worst thing imaginable. Not even the fact I’d be paying for the meal twice. I ask the host if I pay full price and send you the voucher tomorrow are you going to issue an immediate refund. He hesitates then finally says no. Take it up with living social. So I go to the actual living social site and my voucher is there. We got our bill and rightfully had to pay for the extra app we got because we didn’t realize until after that the deal only included one, my husband’s beer, and got a jar of tomato preserves that came with the deal and left. I never tasted the preserves because I ended up giving them to a homeless man on the walk back to our car but by the end of the ordeal I was just ready to walk out of that cramped corner we sat in and walk south street to digest somene of this mediocre food. Our deal also included a recipe which I never received. But who cares, besides the entrée, the food wasn’t really good. A word to the wise, if using groupon, which I use all the time, or living social, this is my 2nd time using, just print it out. Some of these places are unforgiving.

Went to Supper with a livingsocial brunch deal. To start, we had the bacon babka and the farm greens and herb salad. The babka was very sweet, with thick chewy bacon and coffee cake covered in syrup. The salad was mixed greens with cornbread and a tangy mustard dressing. Both were pretty good. We also had the banana bread french toast and the supper frittata(with chorizo and onion). The banana bread french toast was very thick(about 2 inches), with a rich flavor. Very decadent. The frittata was a bit lacking for me. It could have used a bit more spice, more something, maybe some spinach in there. The sides of grits and potatoes that we got were very good. The fried potatoes were crisp on the outside and super soft on the inside. The grits were terrific, creamy and a perfect addition to eggs. Overall, our service was good, with one exception. At the end of our meal, one of the staff asked if we were finished, and we responded that we would like to box things up to take home(I just described a lot of food for two people). He threw out our potatoes(half a plate). Miscommunications happen, but we were sorry to not finish off those delicious potatoes. I’d be very interested in tasting more of their menu. Especially the duck & waffles, as well as anything that they serve with grits. For this meal, I have been thinking about 3 or 4 stars. We’ll stick with 4 for now.

Quirky and enjoyable eatery. We had brunch and everyone in our party of 4 found something to like — a rarity among picky eaters. We plan to revisit for dinner soon. I suspect we’ll up the rating to 5-stars.

Supper is another one of those fancy brunch spots with a limited menu and high prices. Overall the food was ok, but nothing too special… even the red velvet waffles which were decent but not to die for. I think the biggest problem was that in spite of sitting very close to the kitchen, our food came out cold. I witnessed my $ 15 burger sitting there on the counter for over 5 minutes… no heat lamp… just getting cold. Same with the red velvet waffles… cold and bland. I get it that they like to wait for the food for the whole party, but better planning could have helped. As for the service, our waiter seemed a bit lost, but he wasn’t bad. The rest of the servers were kind of giving us the glare as the clock ticked past 3PM. I guess they close from 3 – 5. Either way, I didn’t love it, and I probably won’t go back.

Beautiful cozy restaurant with warmth. The food is to die for. Very romantic place to go for dinner. I just wish they had more of a selection than just plain coffee. Smoked chicken wings birch beer, black pepper, buttermilk. They were awesome.

Good stuff! Whoever heard of a restaurant specializing in deviled eggs? Apparently they serve around four varieties out of 40 possible combinations each night. They are delicious. Had the garlic and capers/bacon versions on our night. Pumpkin soup, delicious, chicken wings appetizer, delicious, salad, delicious. Main courses of fancy southern style dishes of BBQ shrimp and grits, and fried chicken with collard greens and grits. Admittedly, the BBQ Shrimp I had at Emeril’s Orlando last week were much better, but they weren’t bad here. The fried chicken dark meat parts were good and thankfully outnumbered 2:1 the dry white meat piece that was served. Grits good in both dishes as was the collard greens served with the chicken. Desserts: almond joy cake and bread pudding both served with a scoop of icecream were delicious. We used a LivingSocial meal deal, but I would definitely go even without it. Might try Happy Hour specials too.

Supper is one of the glimmering gems on South Street. The atmosphere is warm, romantic, and inviting. The restaurant has a modern feel, while still incorporating a comfort that comes with the dim lighting fixtures and modern southern inspired menu. Once a month a $ 15 All You Can Eat appetizer Happy Hour is featured with a paired drink special. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying brunch here, but I hope to soon(I see LivingSocial has a deal). I’ve been here for dinner twice and have taken advantage of the 4 course Prix-Fixe LivingSocial Deal for $ 89. The menu here changes over time, but some staples remain on the menu. For our Chef’s Tasting we were sat at a wonderful table looking into the open kitchen. For starters we had the Deviled Eggs, Pimento Cheese Puffs, Birch Beer Wings, BE Greens Salad, Cauliflower Soup and Sweet Potato Soup. Each dish was small, but flavorful and plated like a work of art. Unexpected ingredients accompanied each dish, but the flavors all complimented each other so well. For our main course we tried the Duck and Waffles, Mahi Mahi, White Sea Bass, Shrimp and Grits, and Pastrami Fried Chicken. Again we all found our palettes pleasantly surprised. For dessert the daily pie was a treat. Our deal also included the yummy Tomato Jam they sell here for $ 6.95/jar. Overall I love that the food here is southern and sophisticated. Unlike other restaurants that attempt this cuisine its light and health conscious. I think this spot is a great choice for a date night and if the menu seems outside of your comfort zone there is always a burger or maybe try this spot for brunch.

I went to Supper for the first time two nights ago, and really enjoyed myself. We started with a couple bottles of wine, which was nice. I then had the Supper Burger. It was $ 19, which is expensive for a burger, but it was HUGE(10 ounces)! It came with three types of sauces: chipotle aioli, mustard, and thousand island. I kept rotating between the three sauces because they were all good, but the thousand island was my favorite. The burger was really succulent, and all of the toppings on it(caramelized onions, ham, cooked tomato) were awesome. It was a bit of a challenge to eat because it was so big. The duck fat fries that came with it were also amazing. The restaurant itself was really nice. It was small, but we were not cramped at all. I was there with a bunch of friends for a birthday, but Supper would also be a great spot for a date.

Updating my review for my first dinner visit to Supper, which was also a very positive experience. I came here with a group of about 10 ladies for my friend’s birthday. It was great that they were accommodating, since many nicer restaurants are so small and stingy with groups. We were seated in a nice corner of the restaurant. We all ordered wine, mostly by the bottle, to start with. We were served some sort of cornbread, accompanied by a pumpkin salted butter. I thought this was really good, and a nice seasonal touch. For my entrée, I ordered the duck and waffles. I had never had any sort of poultry & waffles deal before, so I was excited. I was very satisfied with my meal — the duck was delicious(I’m a fan of duck in general), and the waffles were delicious, and not too heavy so I could actually finish them. I would definitely recommend them. But if you’re not feeling waffles, you can always swap out the waffles for the potato purée, which a few of my friends did. For my friend’s birthday, we got the flourless chocolate cake. I CANNOTTELLYOUHOWDELICIOUSITWAS. I awkwardly ate most of it even though there were 10 other people at our table. SOGOOD. SORICH. SOMUCHCHOCOLATE. I would go back just to get this piece of cake. My only complaint with Supper was how expensive it is. While the food is good, it also food that shouldn’t be as expensive as it is. If you get a glass of wine and an appetizer, this will end up being one expensive meal. So I would still recommend brunch here over dinner on account of value!

I came here for brunch on a Sunday expecting the place to be mobbed. I think there were only 4 other people in the whole place. The hostess, or whatever he was, asked us how many and walked away. Never saw him again. Our party was obsessed with calling the place«Superrrrr» to our waitress, prob a little too hungover/delirious. They seemed to find us humorous though. I ordered the supper burger club, medium. I had to send it back to be cooked more because it was totally raw. Once I wasn’t scared to bite into it, oh my. Seriously amazing. All of my friends meals looked great as well. Such a great find!

I heard about this restaurant on an episode of Andrew Zimmern’s show. It’s located right across the street from Whole Foods on hipster South Street. I really liked the restaurant’s décor which included a noteworthy light fixture. I had to try the assorted deviled egg appetizer of the day which was almost two pretty to eat! It featured a truffle, chipotle lime, buffalo chicken, and sesame ginger egg which was clearly delicious and my favorite. I also had the duck and waffles. It featured a crispy duck confit leg with pecan sage waffles and cabbage. It was a magnificent flavor combination. The server, Carmine, was very friendly and accommodating with a sense of humor. He joked how fun it is to watch the interesting people/characters coming and going across the street at Whole Foods.
