The Animedic

First wellness check for both cat and dog went really well. Knowledgeable vets who made sure to try to make my nervous kids feel comfy. Offered cheaper options for flea and tick than we had been doing before, and let us know that the yearly dentals my pup needs would be MUCH cheaper than the vet we had in New York (but what isn’t!?). Only issue was some disorganization at the front desk — seemed to be an off day for them. Happy we chose Animedic as our vet when we moved to Manayunk!

I would not hesitate to give Dr. Heller and Dr. Jones above 5 stars if that option was available. I went through 2 vets in center city to finally land at Animedic. 5 days ago our puppy was in distress — not eating, Unilocaling (no pun intended) in pain when touched, and not sleeping. We had to bring him to the ER as it was a Sunday. I’ll highlight why you need to use Animedic as your vet:
Dr. Heller saw us on short notice, after reading through the ER diagnosis, spent ample time with us talking through the pups problems and determining next steps as he was regressing from the medications provided by the ER.
Dr. Heller followed up and we indicated the puppy was not improving. Last night, again on short notice, he told us to bring him in for xrays to eliminate variables. The center closes at 840pm. Dr. Heller kept us there til 915, staying later to help our puppy and give him an IV of fluids and meds.
The next morning, I get a phone call from Dr. Heller on his way into work to follow-​up on the puppy.
Our puppy took a positive step forward today. I was offered the option to bring the pup back in if needed today.
Flexibility, passion, care, attention to detail — it is evident that Animedic and Dr. Heller go above and beyond to care for animals.
It is very comforting to know our puppies have this level of attention at Animedic.

Just came back from Animedics. My five years old cat had some vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy. This was my first time with Animedic, I came from Fishtown because based on all the wonderful reviews, I felt that this would be the place I’d feel most comfortable with. I didn’t have good experience previously in Fishtown, so I really wanted to find a place I’d be coming back to. I think I found it.
There’s a free parking, lady at the front desk was more than wonderful. We didn’t wait too long at all. Vet technicians introduced themselves and were kind, knowledgeable and efficient. Shortly after initial exam/​triage, doctor came, took his time to talk to us, examined my cat, and suggested basic blood work for start. He told us the price ($ 75) which I extremely appreciate! They drew blood and we waited for maybe 45 min for the results. Everything seemed ok so the doctor suggested x-​ray, but wasn’t pushy at all. I trust this place. They are not trying to make your bill maximally large, like some other places. Everything was transparent and it was on us to decide.
I really had a great experience, I will be back and I can definitely recommend this place.

Everyone is so nice and helpful. I had a brand new puppy and a million questions. They really gave me all of their attention, answered all my questions no matter how little, and I never felt rushed. I can’t wait to raise my little puppy knowing that I have excellent people ready to answer all my questions.

When we adopted our dog we searched a ton of local vets and this one had the most recommendations. We’ve had two visits so far and love them. Along with being polite and gentle with our dog they’re always courteous and never seem to rush. They also have extensive hours, opened from 8 – 8 during the weekdays and weekend hours. I would definitely recommend them especially if you live in the area.

People in here are so nice. They took care of my cat. Everything was done so quick. Highly recommend!

Animedic is the best vet my wife and I have ever been to. Dr. Jones and her husband, as well as their staff, are warm, caring, genuine and knowledgeable. Making an appointment is always easy and pleasant. Dr. Jones takes her time going over options and educating us in the process. They also have a parking lot, which is rare in Manayunk and a huge help.

Sitting in one of the rooms now waiting for the doctor, so I’ll keep this short for now. everything has been great so far, courteous and really clean rooms.

I had a great experience with the Animedic! My dog was very sick and they reassured me up until his appointment about his symptoms and made me feel more at ease. The staff is wonderful and very informative. Thank you for making Louis feel better!

Wow! Our 14 year old cocker spaniel needed a new vet as our prior one moved elsewhere. We had been to two others before Anemidic and they just didn’t feel right. Today our Murphy met Dr. Jones.
He says, «I love her. She got down on the floor with me and she stayed there. She looked at all my parts and she talked sweet to me the whole time. I never had to get on that high table! I’m old and a cocker which means, I can be snippy. Not today. This place is like no other I’ve experienced and I’m feeling good about spending my later years with her. Where has Dr. Jones been all my life? And, my new little brother who is a 14 week old Golden saw the other vet there. Even though I don’t like my new brother very much, he really liked his Dr. too. This place rocks! Thanks Dr. Jones for paying attention to me!»
Awesome environment and vets!

Dr Heller might be new to Animedic but a seasoned veterinarian! He is excellent! He is Super knowledgeable, Compassionate and Thorough with his exam. He made sure to explain what he was doing and why. I learned a lot about my dogs during the visit. I felt comfortable asking questions and relaying the health concerns I have about my beloved pups! I’m Really glad he is a part of the team. Thank you Dr. Heller.

I love Dr Jones and the Animedic. I first started using her with house calls when I adopted my shelter dog and have gone to the clinic since it opened. She and her staff obviously love animals, and my dog loves it there… to the point he tries to go inside whenever we walk past!
My only complaint is that Dr Jones and the office always seem super busy to the point it is detrimental — they could stand to use an office manager or something. Non-​urgent emails sometimes get lost in the shuffle, and occasionally you wind up waiting well past your scheduled appointment time.
With that said, this place is still one of the best vets I’ve encountered. When I lost my job my pup happened to get sick and I wasn’t sure what to do… Was it dangerous sick or something I didn’t need to worry about? I called Dr J and she wound up helping us out and waiving the fees except the cost of his medicine. If that’s not someone who does it for the love of the animals I don’t know what is!

My 15 year old beagle was unrecoverable ill. Jen came over to the house and showed us such compassion in helping Juliette’s passing. She made all arrangements and took her away with the dignity we needed. We are happy she was with us. Our entire family & neighbors appreciate so much what she did for us. She and her great family love animals and I have never seen such a Vet as her. This is the #1 doctor & clinic in Philadelphia … Or anywhere!

I love the Animedic and am so glad I found them when I moved to Philadelphia. The vet techs are top-​notch. My dog is fearful of new people and both techs know exactly what to do to put her at ease. Darlene, one of the techs, is particularly good with my dog and very thoughtful. It’s such a small thing, but I love that she breaks pills up into the correct dose so I don’t struggle to do it correctly at home.
Dr. Jones is as good as everyone else has said. She’s more balanced when making treatment decisions than other vets I’ve visited. I’ve often wondered at other vet practices whether what they were recommending was necessary. With Dr. Jones, I don’t have to worry — she takes the time to explain pros and cons of different approaches and is conservative with the use of the anesthesia. I actually ended up at the Animedic because Companion wanted to sedate my dog for x-​rays and I wasn’t comfortable with it unless it was truly necessary. I visited Dr. Jones and she was able to get clear x-​rays without sedation and helped us figure out why my dog was in pain.
I’ve been back half a dozen a times and have had great experiences each time I visited. It’s definitely worth the drive from Center City.

Yes, she is as amazing as everyone says. She was always my first choice after reading her reviews, but sadly she was away when my dog got sick and I had to go to two different crappy vets in Ardmore before I finally got to see Dr. Jennifer. My dog is 15 years old and might be coming to the end of her journey and I’m so grateful I found the right person to take care of her. (And me). She is so thorough and explains everything in great detail and the whole staff are kind and patient and knowledgeable. Bottom line, if you live anywhere near her, this is where you need to go. Awesome!

Dr. Jennifer is AMAZING! I’m new to the Philadelphia area and took a stranger’s advice in checking out this clinic and boy am I so grateful that I did! The front desk staff is extremely professional, supportive, funny, inviting, ECT. The treatment rooms are exceptionally clean and warm and decorated with humor as well as the necessary essentials to take care of your animals. And as for Dr. Jennifer, there aren’t the words to describe how grateful I am to have met her and have the privilege of having her being my doctor for my two beloved animals!!!

I came here to get my yearly check up for my cat. I had a great experience here and will be coming back in the future. The service here is great, you can really tell they care and love animals. I came here with my cat a leash, since he doesn’t do well with cariers. I was placed in another room instead of the waiting room so that my cat wouldn’t get startled by other animals. The vet and vet tech treated my cat with care and great attention. You can tell they really love animals and want the best for you and your pet. It was good experience, I felt like I could really trust the vet with my cat. I will be coming here from now on.

Wonderful experience with Dr. Jennifer Jones! I was recommended by my cousin who takes his pit bull there and I was so happy I switched vets. I have a puppy and have been looking for a vet I could trust for his whole life. The place was clean and certainly held that funky modern Manayunk charm. A little more expensive than other vets but they knew what they were talkin about and had a very friendly warm staff.
