My mother lived here for about three years and it was overall a good experience. They had a difficult time keeping our paperwork together for the two renovations that we did while she was living there — kitchen and bath — but they did not hassle us much about the work except to not tell us in advance that there were to be no contractors allowed in the building on Yom Kippur. Her bathroom was a bit small as I heard most of them are in the building so be prepared for this if you are considering this building. The amenities are fantastic — and by amenities I mean the services downstairs. One does not have to leave the building to go to the market, diner, pharmacy, dry cleaner, hair salon, and a number of others. They have a shuttle bus that travels the shopping district and downtown by day and theater district by night. As with most buildings taking their contractor recommendations is not always a great deal — Wexler charged $ 300 to replace a wax seal on the toilet on short notice. I prefer my staff perkier but their people are proficient. The activities offered by the social committee are numerous and offered throughout the year. And while the median age of resident seems to be 75 I think that it is suitable for others as well. They also have indoor parking but there is a waiting list and additional fee.
