This is my go-to meal and the lamb or chicken can easily be served over salad(Yay Low-CARB). Whenever I don’t feel like cooking I park behind the Sugar Philly Truck and run to this cart. You can’t beat this meal for the price.

If you miss the road side food in NYC, this place makes up for the gyros. The lamb is the best offering here while chicken is good too. But having had the lamb gyro with the spicy and white sauce, the incredibly delicious mess in the parchment paper, its hard to get anything else.

Coming from New York, chicken and rice vendors were a dime a dozen. Most of them tasted the same. For five bucks you got a good meal with a drink. I had gone to the New York Gyro food cart a few times and it was pretty much the same as the average cart in NYC. The last few times, today included, I walked by the New York Gyro cart and there was a long line. Well I really had the craving today, but did not want to wait. Then I remembered there is a similar cart half a block away. If my NYC days taught me anything it’s that the odds were they would taste about the same. So, I made my way over to Times Square Gyro and got me some chicken and rice. Same price. Same quantity. Nice guy working it. And, it tasted just as good. Screw the line. It’s not worth. Walk a half a block, save some time, and support the underdog!
