The only redeeming factor about this place: red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting n sprinkles. Oh my. But the rest of it: breakfast sammich, breakfast burrito, n coffee: no. No. And no.

This is a warm and friendly atmosphere. The coffee is always very good compared to nearby places like Cosi or Starbucks even if it is La Colombe, they do it well. Would like to see some Equal Exchange french roast though.

The atmosphere is definitely nice, and it’s a great place to stop for a quick bite. I went there during lunch and ordered an avocado BLT wrap. It wasn’t bad, but I wish there would’ve been more pieces of avocado in it. I think I might have only tasted it once or twice. On the plus side… the bacon was good.

I stopped in here on the way to Washington Square Park for a sandwich. I was looking for something quick and simple I could eat in the park. Nothing particularly stood out as amazing, but the service was friendly, and the sandwiches are made to order. I got the Roast Turkey Club on sourdough. Pretty good sandwich, although the tomatoes were a little mealy. Also came with chips, which was a nice touch. A bit pricey for what you get, but I’d be back if I was in the area.

I will have to agree with most of the sentiment here.(Especially K.S.‘s review.) I’d give five stars for atmosphere and four for staff – I think they’re great. I work near here, and LOVE the comfy atmosphere but the food needs some improvement. I would still go and deal with the bad food because it was so relaxing and chill in there. They do play good music, but I suspect it’s the XM Coffee house station. I do like their coffees and teas, so it’s worth going for drinks. You can sit outside during the summer as well!

I gave Tuscany Café a few tries, each time hoping my not-so-great experience would improve on the next visit. It’s has a cozy café atmosphere and is close to where I work, so I was hopeful for a local lunch go-to. But, alas, which each visit, the experience got worse. The food just isn’t that good. I have tried a salad, a sandwich and a soup, and each was less appetizing than the one before it. It’s not that hard to make a good Caesar salad, but somehow they botched it. And the soup(French onion) was so salty that I could only finish half of it. Worse than the food, though, is the snobby service. Would it kill anyone who works there to smile once in a while? But I guess when you have a lame hipster image to uphold, friendliness goes by the wayside. My advice: pass on Tuscany café and go to el fuego next door.

I really dont like this place. They have now made me ill twice with the food. I dont drink coffee, so I cannot comment on that, but the food has been sub par. I give two stars because the service has actually been really good — staff are friendly and make conversation. But again, I just cannot forgive my two terrible culinary experiences here.

I’ve been here twice now so I feel that I can make a proper review. The first time I went the sandwich I ate had absolutely no flavor. To top it off, they had no side/house salad so I had to settle for a regular salad which had a suspicious amount of iceberg looking lettuce in it. At least the tomatoes and carrots in it were good. I still wasn’t thrilled to spend over 6 bucks for basically a house/garden salad. The second time I came back I ordered a different sandwich and some tomato bisque. The tomato bisque was tasty and came with some bread. But I’m not sure it was $ 4.25 tasty. A little steep, but I was cold so I got it. Unfortunately, once again the sandwich was flavorless. The meat in it was decent, but there was no flavor added from either the cheese or the sauce that they put on the sandwich. Once again I wished I’d gone to Potbelly’s or Top Tomato. I don’t know if there is wireless there but I did see a woman using her laptop so its possibly they have wireless.

I’ve known and walked by this new Tuscany Location on my way to work for what seems like ages now. But for awhile I’ve been a little hesitant to try here. It wasn’t necessarily the fault of here, I just wasn’t too big on Caramel — the coffeehouse that used to be in this spot beforehand. I’ve also always felt like I was kind of rushed away whenever I set foot inside Tuscany’s location on Rittenhouse. so I felt like this spot had some old demons that needed some exorcising before I committed to it. But I was getting tired of some of the other options in the area like Bonte and Wawa(I prefer to avoid Starbucks altogether but you probably know that by now). And drinking Coffee on a trolley in the morning can be a real drag sometimes. so that left out some of my West Philly haunts. So I caved in and have been kind of happy that I did so. The Coffee is always refreshingly dark and rich. And while I didn’t find the spot to fitting for Caramel, I actually find that it gives Tuscany more of a laid back edge. all of the people who work there are also always big time helpful with smiles. Guess I’ll keep coming back, at least until I use up my free coffee card!

Popped into the Tuscany Café this afternoon for a quick meal with my spouse. It was a welcome escape after running around in snowy weather. I guess there is another, ritzier location here in town that caters to the wealthy business crowd, but this location was a bit more laid back and comfy. A great selection of wraps and sandwiches including a «rotating» section for seasonal specialties and a few breakfast options. Tons of coffee, espresso and other beverage choices, and even five frozen smoothie options. I ordered the meatball sub which was just tops; four HUGE meatballs on freshly sliced baguette with tomato and lettuce. My husband had a BLT which I assume he liked since he practically inhaled it. We also split the soup of the day — tortilla soup — which was maybe the best tortilla soup I’ve had(the perfect hint of lime!) Unfortunately my beverage choice was a bomb; i asked for a hot chocolate but pored over ice, and what I got was more like a lightly chocolate flavored water. I was so consumed with the meal, though, that I didn’t complain. I guess with all the choices they give you it serves me right for asking for a special order. It IS a little on the pricey side; in a city where the average sandwich or wrap is around $ 4.99 people may not want to pay $ 7 and up, but you’re truly getting freshly prepared and unique sandwiches, so it’s a trade off you might be willing to make. If I had any gripe it would be that the seating is a bit rickety — sort of precarious, wooden chairs that aren’t comfortable for those above 120 pounds. It, along with my drink, is the only thing holding me back from a five star review.
