I have been a patient of the Queen Village office for over 10 years. I go about every 2 months; I don’t have my calculator, but I think that’s a lot of visits to a doctor that never been in the provider network list for any of IBC’s plans. I went to my appointment several days ago. Actually it was the first day I had left the house since I had inpatient surgery 2 days earlier. I could barely walk there. On the way I remembered that my husband removed my IBCID card AND my credit card from my purse at the hospital & I wasn’t sure I had enough cash. I thought, after 10 years as a patient, he could mail me a bill. I entered the office & their was someone new as the receptionist. She was large, didn’t do much and was very rude. I walked in I told her I wasn’t sure that I had enough money and my credit card was taken out of the purse in the hospital; I also asked her to remove the hospital bracelets because I couldn’t do it. I told my problem she said well you will have to reschedule, I was not permitted to see the Dr. I said excuse me for not having my credit card. I mentioned that I was in the hospital and it had been difficult to walk there; she still said I’ve got to reschedule. I sat down to go thru my cash & rest. The doctor came in & said the same thing and he said you have to pay before he would see me. I have gone there over 10 years” I’m so angry, but I do not want to reschedule I counted all my $$$, put together small bills; I can barely see straight – the Dr. came in to hurry me along. He said he had plans that evening. After the apt. I went to the receptionist and asked for a receipt. She didn’t seem used to that. I asked her if she usually gives receipts. She said only if they ask. I see alot of docs & they always gives receipts. I am still so angry at this practice and will never ever ever return to his office I’m speechless about what happened I really can’t accept it, 10 plus years as a patient, Trying to send me back home. as hard as it was to get there. I will NEVER return that

The doc is competent, informative, and extremely nice. His staff is helpful and friendly, and his Queen Village neighborhood location is convenient. Have never had any problem regarding appointments, communication, waiting time, insurance or anything else. Those I’ve referred to Dr. Vanderlyke concur. The only drawback is that he has limited office hours in his Queen Village location: His Bustleton Ave. location in the Northeast is his main office.
