I’ve been here twice before, and the first time I ordered the taro iced bubble tea(smoothie version) so good! I decided to come back for more. I ordered the strawberry bubble tea, smoothie version again(yet she gave me the regular version, however, it was AMAZING!!). However, the vegan sushi was mediocre at best. Even being starving, the pieces of tofu that posed as «sushi» were handling fulfilling whatsoever. One thing i loved about this place was the décor! The notes all over were very cute, and the sign«I’m a cow with family and friends, please go vegan!!» was an adorable touch :) Still, i will give four stars because i have yet to try the other things on the menu, and i would solely go back here for the bubble tea :~) well done

A cute little vegan spot on South Street! The interior décor is simple yet adorable. There are written lost-it notes on the wall so you can check them out ehile wait for your food. The place is also clean and cozy. The menu offers a decent selection of vegan options from burgers, wraps, salads, sushi, noddle, rice to bubble teas. I ordered the spicy pot, mild spicy level. If you don’t eat spicy food, there is a non-spicy version as well. The spicy pot is a perfect choice for winter however you can certainly get it year round :) It is very flavorful and the seasoning is just right. For $ 8, I think this dish is totally worth the money since you will feel pretty full afterwards. Overall, I would go here again to try other options on the menu or just to get the spicy pot again cause it’s that good ;) I only give it 4 stars because they only have one bathroom for the entire restaurant.

Great affordable vegan place for dine-in or takeout. Seating area is cute and comfortable. Really good bubble teas/smoothies. Have not tried many of the food options but they all look really good/healthy. Only downside is the credit card minimum so go with some cash!

I enjoyed this restaurant very much. Fast service and the bubble tea tastes great. I recommend the Avocado sushi(9 pieces). Definitely will go back again when I’m around Philly.

Semi-Solid vegan food that gets the job done if there aren’t too many other options. Tried the vegan steak, nuggets, vegan tree wrap and vegetable rolls. Service is friendly but on the slow side(we called ahead and still ended up waiting about 10 minutes) so I wouldn’t recommend them if you are in a hurry or on a quick lunch break.

The food and service is great. Ordered the vegan Mac and cheese, chocolate milkshake, passion fruit bubble tea, and chocolate cake. Everything tasted awesome :)

I know it’s not a fair review since the only thing I tried here is a bubble tea. But I just wanted to write a review to steer anyone from getting bubble teas here, since it’s really that bad. I walked in, not knowing they had a Credit card minimum of $ 15. I ordered a regular bubble tea, and the lady behind the counter began brewing the tea(they use Lipton Tea bag), and added almond milk(I guess that’s the vegan portion) with ice to chill the tea. Once the lady handed me the bubble tea, I realized that there was a card minimum. Should I have known they had a $ 15 minimum, I would have never gotten the bubble tea in the first place. Well, they had an ATM in the store, which charged me a little bit over a dollar, so I guess I spent right around $ 5 for a small bubble tea. I don’t mind paying a little extra as long as the bubble tea is decent, but it was the nastiest drink I’ve ever had in my life. The texture of the boba was crumbly(where do you even get bobas like that? it was so nasty), and the tea was bland. I am assuming it was a home-made boba, because I can swear that kind of crumbly boba is not sold anywhere. It was not a pleasant experience. May be their food is better, but I don’t think I have a reason to come back.

Vegan cheesesteaks! I’ve read about how great they are online, and it was not at all far from accurate. It doesn’t look like much at first, but it is one of the most flavorful cheesesteaks I’ve ever had. Not to mention, the service was fantastic! The lady that took our order was adorable and extremely helpful with suggesting to us what to choose for our first time there. I will absolutely come back.

Came here because vegan options were few and far between on South Street. Small don’t be surprised if you find yourself sitting next to strangers(I did). Had the chow mien and the special smoothie. Very delicious. It’s operated by a husband and wife team so if you’re lacking patience you need not attend.

Stopped for a quick lunch the other day & food was really great! I ordered a rice dish, avocado summer rolls, & the chow mein. My only complaint would be that the service was mediocre, but that’s because it’s only the husband & wife! I would recommend calling ahead & getting takeout, the«ambiance» wasn’t the best either.

This place had a Credit card minimum of $ 15** We came here only for bubble tea so my review does not reflect the restaurant’s other menu items.** We ordered three different bubble tea. I ordered a taro smoothie without bubbles. When she finished making my drink and poured the contents of the blender into the cup, it did not fill all the way to the rim. She made a gasping noise and went to resolve the issue. Instead of making my bubble tea with more powder and tea stuff, she only blended more ice and water into my drink. Sad to say that my drink did not taste very good. Rather, it tasted like water down taro slush or with no flavor. My little sister got the Thai tea and for some odd reason, it didn’t taste like Thai tea at all. Rather, just some super sweet tea. I don’t think Thai tea is something you can mess up, but somehow they managed to. My oldest sister got the jasmine tea and she liked her drink. So this is a safe drink to go with. I would be careful about Ordering bubble tea here. If you’re here for the bubble tea, save your money and go somewhere else.

Wife got extremely sick from a vegan cheesesteak + green smoothie here. Vomiting and stomach cramps that brought her to tears. When I called to try to talk to someone about it, the person who answered the phone told me «very busy call later» and hung up on me. UPDATE1÷1÷16: Here’s the health department inspection that followed after I reported my wife’s illness. «This inspection has revealed that the establishment is in operation without a valid food license. The establishment is not eligible for license approval due to violations of the Health Code. This inspection has revealed that the establishment is not in satisfactory compliance and that current management practices have allowed unacceptable public health or food safety conditions.»

A great find! Accidentally found this place while trying to Google Map a different place in Philadelphia. We decided to give this a try also. The environment was really cool. Just a simple place with wooden tables, a great lady(chef? owner?) behind the counter who also was the waitress, and Post Its and cards and notes from satisfied customers on the board. There was a family in there eating as well as us, and a bunch of people came and went ordering take-out while we were there. My wife & I split 5 things. I shall tell you about them… Pineapple Banana Smoothie: Awesome. She put jasmine tea in it and it really gave is an awesome flavor, simple, but unlike any smoothie I’ve ever had. Vegan Cheesesteak. Very very very good. I was nervous, but a simple Instagram search for Vegan Tree put my mind at ease and I was very happy we got it. Chow Mein. Good. The spinach noodles were really tasty and had a great texture. Tofu was yellow and looked like egg and was really good. Tempeh would’ve knocked this outta the park. Flaxseed cake. Also really good. Not dry at all, not overly sweet. Really good to split at the end at it wasn’t expensive($ 4.25). Avocado spring rolls. They were what they were. Tasted fresh, peanut sauce was really good, but they were plain and we’d try something else next time. Not the restaurant’s fault. They were literally romaine, avocado and rice paper. I recommend this place highly. Very cute, very friendly, and the repeat customers say a lot about them. And it wasn’t expensive at all. I’m from NY, where all this stuff would’ve been $ 60, but here I think it was $ 31.

When I go to Philly, I think of cheese steaks, however, I recently went vegetarian. Luckily I found this place out on Unilocal when I went to go see the Pope. They have a vegan cheese steak. I admit it was weird at first, but became more delicious as I at it. The place inside wasn’t the most presentable, but it was near downtown Philly.

Delicious and healthy food, and the nice service doesn’t hurt! Oh and they let me five pound dog in and be inside while we ate. Could be that we were the only ones inside, but it was awesome they let us do that!

Spending most my time with a Vegetarian, I love random discoveries of veggie friendly establishments. Bonus: All Vegan! This place is adorable. We weren’t too hungry and I was craving a bubble tea so we snagged a Taro tea in addition to a summer roll with tofu and avocado. The staff, friendly and welcoming, created a very comfortable environment. The summer roll was great. light and fresh. Accompanied by a peanut sauce I would gladly eat this roll daily and have no guilt in doing so! My taro tea was refreshing and the tapioca was perfectly squishy! Our visit was simple and quick and I plan on returning to explore more of the menu that so many of my fellow Unilocalers have raved about.

The menu updated from the last time I came here, so it’s a lot shorter, which makes it more manageable, but I was sad to see a lot of the asian fusion options gone. HOWEVER my companion’s menu had a sneaky menu on it, that was not on our other two menus, that was a hot soup(hot pot), and it was fantastic. That is the thing you want to get here if you’re stopping in for more than bubble tea. That said, LOVE stopping in here for bubble tea! I love that it’s vegan — no questions needed — and I love how sweet their Taro flavor is. The bubbles are done well, too.

Delicious and very reasonably priced vegan asian food! A plate of fried rice or chow mein or a vegan burger is only $ 6.95 for a good portion size. Easily less than $ 10 per person if you can resist just getting 1 entrée! Sometimes after eating at asian vegan restaurants, it may make me feel«bleah» because it is usually very greasy. But at Vegan Tree it definitely tastes healthier & lighter. I highly recommend the joy fried rice. Yummy stir fried black rice with tofu(to mimic eggs) and veggies with an amazing balance of flavors. The vegan chow mein was also delicious and the noodles were so chewy and bouncy. Chewy noodles are the best! The vegan chicken sandwich also tasted great and I believe it was served on a whole wheat bun. The asian bbq sauce used really tied the whole sandwich together well. They have roasted kabocha squash which is pretty much one of my favorite veggies in the world! The only thing that wasn’t that great is the sushi. The rice was really mushy and the texture was a little off. I love that they have vegan bubble tea! So hard to find. The cakes are all homemade and I tried the coconut cream cake. Perfect ending to a wonderful vegan meal. All in all the food is great and comforting and writing this review just makes me want to go back for more!
